Festac Town Is Covered With Stinking Sewage And Nobody Is Doing Anything!

Attention - Lagos State Ministry Of Health
Attention -To whom it may concern.

Hello! Stella,
please this situation needs the urgent attention of the appropriate authorities i.e Local Government chairman, or Lagos state government or ministry of health.

The beginning of 2nd Avenue in Festac Town, precisely 201/202 ROAD AXIS of Festac Town is covered with sewage/shit water!!!!

The water was coming out gradually for some years now with out anything done to it, and as a result getting worse. This a horrible situation and if not immediately taken care of, will become a health disaster.

People are hawking and trading and you know that some people wouldn't mind picking them up and return to their wares for sale. It smells, and you can imagine all the local government does occasionally, is to send cleaners mostly women to go clear whatever refuse maybe there as you would see refuse in the picture, without fixing the stagnant Sewage water (dangerously exposing them to any outcome) .

It will soon be the raining season, and that would mean people having to walk in rain water mixed with shit or the sewage water splashing on people using bikes or walking, not to mention kids.

How can a government be so wicked and dirty, and not give a damn about her people, Without thinking about the consequences? I don't get it, if there are buildings that shouldn't be on top of sewage pipes or just sewage blockage the government can't be bothered about? What were they elected for?

This is supposed to be year 2020 vision and something like over flow of sewage water can't even be fixed? Yet politicians keep travelling to countries that fix their problems and make life easy for their citizens.

FROM Aisha.

    1. Exactly, they all leave their villages all over Nigeria to congest Lagos and it’s resources then start complaining, they better start cleaning their mess or carry it back to
their village when they go for Christmas.

    1. This is solely the Government's fault that sold land to people to build where no buildings should be. Building on top sewage channels is very bad. Allowing people build privately without right sewage channels and not monitoring is wrong. That is a major road and not within a residential close. So all the refuse would have gathered into that water from different angles.
this sewage thing is presently happening from private buildings who channeled their sewage to the direction of the main road.
there is a place at 402 with a private building for mobil filling Station and KFC restaurant also having its sewage water flowing massively to the road and it is really stinking. You can imagine a food chain watching such happen.

  8. Disgusting! SDK I like the way u broke down the details and effect of it because I thought I'm the the only one that thinks like that while the government never seems to think about the future or even have any proper plan in place. Short sightedness and greed

  9. This one looks good nau have you been to itedo? It was so bad the only thing the government did was to create a wall of demarcation between itedo and lekki phase 1

  10. The Resident should all gather and do something oo.. IF They all contribute little amount this problem will be solve instead of calling the government...

  11. The festac residents association should fix this mess, instead of waiting for the govt. Festac is actually is the responsibility of the Federal Govt and not State or Local govt.

    1. That place by Mobil filling station/KFC? Those businesses are responsible for that mess because it seems the water come those business's building. When government sold land to build privately without proper sewage channels. Mobil and KFC should be held responsible. I wonder who buys food from there to eat?????

    1. So what is the purpose of the local government in Festac Town? The useless local government chairman and his cohorts who are only interested in disorganized activities that will profit them. Major example is how Festac, a residential area is all covered with CARS FOR SALE ALL OVER EVERY CORNER YOU CAN THINK OF. instead of instilling discipline, they make sure the car owners pay or settle them in the local government to allow them continue with their environmental mess.
