Lagos Govt Seals Quilox Club For Noise Pollution + Arrests Shina Peller

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed off Club Quilox at Victoria Island, Lagos for noise pollution and traffic congestion.

This is coming after the club organised its annual 36-hour party.

The police in Lagos State had earlier on arrested and detained a member of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller, at the Moroko Police Station.

Peller, who is representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo State, was allegedly arrested while trying to take the bail of some clubbers.

In a statement by Peller’s Press Secretary, Kola Popoola, the Police was reported to have detained and seized mobile phones of Peller.

  4. Such a show should have been held in the outskirts of town not at a residential area.

I don't trust Nigerian police too! What's the reason behind arresting random concert goers and then, one of the concert organizers.

    1. The blocked roads making life miserable for commuters so police had to tow the cars and took the to their station. I think it's they that they went for then police started arresting them. I also think police is looking for christmas money.

    2. Ms A not in a residential area o but a major major road; Ozumba Mbadiwe Street.
Shina has been proud for years holding lagosians to a frustrating traffic gridlock.
It's about time dude, about time.

Sometimes I wish those hotels and clubs be replaced with more of Addax Petroleum or Exxon Mobil Headquarters premises, who modelled their drive in after a classical convenient pullover.

    1. That is it! Until they seal Civic center, I'm not seeing them as being serious.

How can you have an event center without an adequate parking lot? This has been causing a serious gridlock. Na wa!

  7. Was it really necessary to arrest people and seal the premises? It's an annual party, it's been going on for years, how come this particular one is causing such an uproar?

    1. it is Xmas, police are looking for money. Why didn't the police tell the club management to make an announcement to the car owners so they can go and remove their car? Why tow their cars without notifying the owner. That is stealing. Police are the real criminals and lair.

  8. It will serve as a deterrent to others that no one is above the law, even if the place is sealed for a day it will still send out a message to others.

  11. This is not true. Which noise? The area he is situated don’t have residential houses around him. Rather they always cause great nuisance on that Ozumba Mbadiwe road. People got to their offices very late. This was what led to the sealing cos the police abi officials were trying to tow some vehicles from his club that were obstructing the free flow of traffic. Peller and his hoodlums marched to the station and caused quite a stir.
Even if he is unsealed at least he would have parted with some cool cash that will make him have a rethink of how to manage his club parking needs.
