Former College Football Player Stabs Pregnant Sister To Death

Michael Egwuagu, 25, who played for University of Texas at San Antonio for three years has been arrested by the police after a doorbell camera captured the moment he walked into his pregnant sister's house,Jennifer Chima Ebichi, 32 at her home, north of Austin and stabbed her multiple times.

“I killed Jennifer,” the doorbell camera recorded Egwuagu saying as he left his sister’s home moments after the murder, the Austin American-Statesman reported Sunday, citing the arrest affidavit.

Witnesses also reported to the police that they heard him utter the same words as he left his sister's house with a smile and a bloody knife.

Autopsy revealed she was three months pregnant at the time of the incident and every attempt made to save her life and that of the unborn child was unsuccessful.

  5. I wonder what the motive was. How many parents saw this guy playing football and going to university and looked down on their own sons for not being a star athlete and bringing fame and glory to the family. Tappers and envyers stop it! May we never know the pain and shame this family is going through.

  14. Oh no, most likely mental illness. But if his mental illness started after his football career, maybe it's time to research other effects of football apart from concussion. Who knows which other brain injuries are as a result of violent sports?

    1. NiB...you deserve a drink. Indeed, he could have had CTE. Aaron Hernandez, a pro American footbal player who killed his friend in 2013 and then committed suicide in prison was found to have the worst case of CTE. There's a likelihood this guy had some form of brain injury.

    2. Oh wow, I'll read up on CTE. For some years now people have been linking football to damaging brain injuries. But I wonder why boxers don't suffer same, since they take direct blows to the head. Unless boxing matches are truly fixed as rumored..

    3. @NiB Boxers are known to suffer Parkinson's disease at the later stage of their lives.

  15. We need to take mental illness more seriously as a people. I won't be surprised if he has an undiagnosed and untreated mental illness.

May she and her little one rest in peace
