  3. Well said. We should always be careful of our words and the stance we take on any issue, especially sensitive issues so they don't come back to haunt us.

    2. It's not wickedness. It's holding someone accountable to his words/actions. Sadly, if it was a Nigerian-owned ambassadorship, they would have overlooked it. Didn't the senator who beat up a lady receive an award recently? Was he held accountable to his actions even when it was viewed on a public platform?

Basketmouth reasoned the way the average Nigerian man reasons. It would shock you that even some so-called educated or enlightened Nigerian men agreed with his viewpoint. They believe you owe them sex especially when they have done something as little as buy lunch. Hopefully, this loss of ambassadorship especially as it was an international one will reset his brain as well as those of other men.

I wish brands would imitate EU's example. Stop giving endorsement deals to people who display negative characters. It doesn't promote good behaviour. If we want a better society, people with fine moral characters should be made brand ambassadors. If a well behaved BBNaija housemate was winning in endorsement deals, subsequent contestants would display better manners.

Let this be a lesson to all.

BTW, kudos to Busola Dakolo. You may have lost the court case but you did not lose the war!

  10. Lending his voice or apologising for his rapey jokes? Stella enough with the misleading headline. The only reason Basketmouth wrote this epistle is because EU dropped him after some ladies on Twitter called him out. A lot of Nigerian comedians are rape apologists and body shakers.I'm glad they're being called out, hopefully they'll do better.

  11. Hmmmmmm his is a lesson to all that the past can ways catch up with you, so be mindful of the kind of message you pass across with your platform.
At least he has learnt his lesson.

  12. Lol. Reality of loss of international endorsement has reset this one's brain small. He still doesn't get it.

Sorry oh but the girl child alone is NOT our future. It's ridiculous and actually disgusting to make such claims cos the boy child does exist, and needs to be taught that you don't push sexist & backward narratives in order to sound woke.

  16. Mtcheew.. political correctness everywhere. What's wrong in what he said and how was he supporting rape?
I wonder what he is apologising for.. Firstly, it was a joke.. jokes most times lighten a serious situation. If you can laugh at it, you can live with it..
Secondly, he was making a serious point and instead of seeing the truth in it, the people the shoe fits get mad, nothing justifies rape, but one has to also avoid situations that can cause it, it's just like leaving your gates open and not expecting to be robbed. The opened gate doesn't justify the robbery but the wise ones know to keep the gate locked. Stop asking for "favours" or collecting gifts from an opposite sex you know wants more from the relationship if you know you don't want to play game.
This present hypocrisy world and political correctness won't save your 'rASS if shii happens to you.. don't be deceived.

The shallow brains are welcomed to come and talk trash under my post

    1. And one of the rape apologists has spoken. Continue blaming the victims. Thanks to social media, men and women like you will be held accountable for their words and actions.

Write all the essays you want but a world class organization have made their position very clear. His joke was serious enough to disqualify him. He and his colleagues will chose their words carefully next time. They'll think twice before making slut-shaming jokes.
