Suspected Fraudster Mompha Remanded In Prison After Pleading Not Guilty To N32.9bn Alleged Scam
The Federal High Court in Lagos today made an order for suspected Internet fraudster, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, to be remanded in the prison custody .
That was after Mompha pleaded not guilty to a N33 billion money laundering charge levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was arraigned by the EFCC today on 14-count charge at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos. But, Mompha pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Justice Mohammad Liman of the Federal High Court remanded him in prison custody and adjourned till Friday for hearing of his bail application and commencement of trial.
