  1. Care deeply

Can you care deeply? Can you, at the same time, not care at all?

Care deeply about your purpose, your efforts, your values. Care not at all about what’s beyond your ability to influence.

Care deeply about the moment, its beauty, its possibilities, its challenges, about doing what’s right. Care not at all about what others think of what you’re doing.

Feel the power of stillness within you. Engage that power to make yourself a positive presence in life.

Always, life swirls around you. Give love, attention, effort and care to life, without getting too distracted by all the swirling.

Care deeply about what matters, about what you can do. Let all the rest take care of itself.

    1. It's either you collect the cloth or pay the 10k.

    2. Nne i dont understand you, what is hard in saying give me back my fabric i aint doing again?

Na wa ooo, no one can make me have headache on top my fabric. I either i do or i dont do. In your case since you no fit give am 10k which i think is not worth it by the way. Tell her boldly you cant pay more than 6k Simple.

      Delete
    3. Wow for your friend o..She has the mindset to recover at once, money she spent in fashion school..

Leave the fabric with her. Gather your money and go back to pay cash. Tell her that it's what you can afford..Its left for her to accept or send you away..Happy weekend.

      Delete
    4. I can feel you. My own is hope she will sew it well. My friend went to fashion school and I decided to patronize. I didn't wear any of the cloth she made for me. She won't even allow me rest for pictures that she wants to post on IG.

      Delete
    5. Just tell her to give you your fabrics na, that you don't have 10k to pay her. Just be diplomatic about it, so that she won't start bearing grudges.

      Delete
    6. That is how my tailor behaves at times, He will sow simple long gown and shout 12K, I will smile collect the cloth and give him 6 or 7k, when he shout finish, he will cool down. If na so everyone will become a tailor.

      Delete
    7. Please, next time make sure you price before you leave your fabrics.

Just pay her the money if you have it and let her know the price is too high.

This is one of my problem with Nigerians, they want to make money immediately

      Delete
    8. Tell her what you can afford,if she insists on the 10k try and pay her but it should be the last time you will ask her to sew for you.
I think she wants to recover her money with speed.

      Delete
    9. I had this experience 2 days ago with a neighbour who's a tailor, and I didn't hesitate to leave with my fabric because I was sure she just inflated the charge cos she feels I can afford it. She contacted me next morning to return the fabric at the price I offered but I won't.

Pls collect your fabric. She probably knows you can afford to pay 10k and I bet you, she'll most likely accept 6k from a walk in customer.

      Delete
    10. You've not said why you can't go and collect your fabric.

      Delete
    11. I don’t know why they behave like this to friends. That’s how my own friend will give me the highest price for ankara which someone else would get at a cheaper price because she thinks I can afford it.

      Delete
    12. I think you should pay her and end the patronage there. Since you dey shame to collect your own material wey you buy with your own money.

      Delete
    13. That's how you people will give your fabrics to those that will charge you 1k and end up bringing Chronicles of "what I ordered vs what I got" here.

If you cannot pay the money, collect your fabrics and give it to someone who will collect 1k, don't spoil your friend's crafts. Drafting pattern is not moin moin, your friend is cheap sef.

If you cannot support her business, don't spoil it!!!!

      Delete
    14. Collect your material from her ooo. trust me it is better that way... You will be doing no wrong at all, you simply cant 'afford' her... If she sews the material and you couldn't pay up the balance don't be surprise when she start telling people you want to ruin her business that is still at the early stage.

      Delete
    15. @Anon 09:58
no one is trying to spoil her business, She just graduated from Fashion school she should chill with billing first and get trust first. What if she spoils her material, then she will remember they are friends then shey? To think she was the one begging for the patronage sef. When my tailor started she started small but now she gives big bills because she sews VERY well.

  10. Madam Chronicle, this is what you should do; inform your husband you want to further your education. Tell him you're ready to step up to what he wants. Yes, tell him that. Do away with pride. This is your marriage. You stoop, plot and make sacrifices to make it work. Tell him you want to step up so that he'll stop beating you. These words should be uttered with all the calmness you can muster. Mind games. You're literally sending painful arrows of guilt down his innermost being. Oga might isolate himself to cry in regret. In addition to schooling, learn to develop yourself on your own. There are free courses online you could take. I have more than 20 certificates from these online platforms. It doesn't take much. You can do it. Read books on self development. Read educative books. Your husband should see the new zeal in you. Don't be complacent.
I don't want to harp on the insults and beatings because it's clear the both of you are guilty of this although he should have been more circumspect as the head of the home. You both were wrong. You threw filthy words at each other. Restrain yourself further. Whenever he throws in a shade, reply with a kind word. Use niceness and consistent calmness to "control" your marriage. It is your marriage, it is worth going the extra mile to work on. Find a way to convey to him you are averse to him comparing you to other women.
Lastly, do not listen to any dingbat that asks you to leave your marriage.

  12. Please, don't allow desperation to push you to go where God is not, cos they tell you it's the happening place and you see huge crowds. You'll end up paying a bigger price than you realise or bargain for.

Waiting on God is probably the most difficult thing you'll ever have to do, but a gift from the devil will always be a trap. Some of these people pretending to be ministers of God are just juju priests in disguise. Selling things like oils, wristbands and other items that the Bible no send them. I thought I was dreaming when I saw "riches oil". And it's packaged by a place that claims to be a church! That is definitely a different gospel & another Jesus, oh! How is this mess different from what Jaruma and her colleagues do? Is it not the same thing as those that even go to village to collect items like favour soap, etc?

  16. This is for you, yesterday’s chronicle poster.
How dare your husband hit you even in pregnancy? Such an irresponsible man.
Respect is reciprocal. He wants a respectful, loving and submissive wife, he must earn it by showing you same.
I don’t know the circumstances in which you agreed to marry your husband.
Some ladies don’t care much about a man’s personality, as long as he’s abroad, he is the perfect material for a husband.
Who does he even think he is anyway? Some of his mates trained their wives/partners and they are doing okay. Why can’t he do same for you? Did he not know you were an “illiterate” before he married you?
Obviously he doesn’t even have what it takes to approach sophisticated women.....you are the one he can oppress.
Comparing you with his friend’s wife is disrespectful.
How can he keep forcing you to be friends with her?
Obviously he likes his friends wife and that’s bad.
He plans to send you back to Nigeria after birthing your baby and also you will be under serious scrutiny. You won’t be allowed to give your family money and they won’t have access to you...cheap man. Where did this guy get the gut to speak about your family like that?
If after birthing he still insists on you coming back to Nigeria, please do.
But please, do not report him to the authorities. You know what that would do to him, remember he is your husband and the father of your kids. These are some of the sacrifices we make for family.
Please password your phone before he gets you into trouble, using your phone to send another man’s wife messages.
For your sanity sake, avoid him even when he’s talking nonsense, before he disfigures you. After birthing your, get a job.

    1. My dear, alot of women are suffering in the name of marriage.
If I hear somethings some people say I will just be weak.
Some see themselves as slaves to a man,a man with cheat on u and will be snubbing you, fellow women will ask you to go and beg him .
A man compares u,treats u like thrash above all, tells his mother about his wife, instead of the woman to scold her son to face his home she will applaud him.
Cos he is Ur son and the wife is not Ur own.
Gossiping Ur spouse to Ur family is the height of it.
IF HE IS NOT BEEN MANIPULATED SPIRITUALLY.

  19. Beware of Ororo Vegetable oil for cooking.

Please Inform Family Members In Nigeria.

VERY IMPORTANT HEALTH INFORMATION. There is a huge volume of imported dangerous recycled cooking oil in circulation now in Nigeria.

How to determine if a cooking oil is recycled oil.

Place your cooking oil in the fridge for about 2 hours, if there is whitish bubbles or foam, you know then it is made from recycled engine oil waste materials.

We need to spread the news to our loved ones.

The simple test 2: Put a clove of garlic when about to fry, if the garlic turns red, that means the toxic level of recycled Oil is very high.

Garlic will remain white if the oil is of good quality.

  29. I went to pick my 2yr old baby from school yesterday and her teacher told me to take her to hospital and check her urinary track.

She said my child is always disturbing her that she wants to wewe. This is a baby that drinks water like fish since I gave birth to her. My baby stopped using daiper before she clocked 2. At night I wake her up once or twice to pee but in the day time she wewe often because of her excess water intakes.

I told the woman haven't she noticed that she finishes her water everyday before the school dismiss, that I'm even planning to get a bigger water bottle for her but she said my baby can not be stressing her that much unlike her classmates. I even noticed my baby was crying as the teacher was bringing her back to class from their school toilet as I was coming to pick her that yesterday. BVs what should I do

  32. Monitoring/ caging a child like that can't make her be well behaved. Educate her about sex and it is left for her to be responsible or not.
I have heard stories of parents monitoring their daughters like that and their daughters are receiving anal right under their nose. Some of them even started sleeping with the doctor that examine them.
This same TI applauded his son for being sexually active at 15years.
Why can't him call his son to order.
If he truly wants to be righteous, he should start with his son.
When a male child impregnate a girl (someone's daughter) we act as if it is normal. Some parents will even encourage their male child to deny the pregnancy. But if parents notice that their female child is sexually active , she will be seen as ashewo , woe betide her and she gets pregnant, it will be considered a taboo, atrocity and everything bad.
That's the problem in our society today.
Everything goes for the male child.
    Is it not someone's daughter
    that he impregnated ?
What I'm trying to say is that , let us treat the male child with the same energy we treat the female child.
Just the way we hold the female child accountable for her actions, we should equally hold the male child accountable for his actions.
We should stop making male child believe that anything goes for them, as in, that male child don't spoil unlike what we make female child believe .
A male child will have multiple sex partners, we will applaud him that he is a playboy, but a female child will have 2 body count and we will call her ashewo.
Guys let's be sincere to ourselves and to our children by calling a spade a spade.

Why will you disown a female child because she got pregnant but welcome a male child when He impregnate someone's daughter.
If you want to be strict or overlook things as a parent (s), do it to both male and female child.

Mehn!!! This life is fucked up with useless beliefs.
That's how we make female child believe that it is the duty of a man to pay both gender's bill.
What happened to telling the female child the truth that there is respect in making their own money and paying their bills.
These are one of the lies our fore fathers told our mothers in the olden days and used it to subject them to pain, agony and maltreatment in marriage. Making them to believe that once he provides for his family , he is lord over her and she must take any nonsense from him and if she leave the marriage it will be a shame to her alone.
Well let me stop here, makana mmekata continueo chi ga eji, chi ga abo as in day go break, day go quench for the matter.

    4. God bless you my person. I believe that The family is the prototype of the society. The Society is a reflection of the condition of the family. If we want a better society we as parents need to begin to instill in our wards the character we want to see in the society. Until we come to that point where each child whether male or female is held accountable for his or her actions and inactions we will continue to complain about how messed up the society is.

I have made up my mind that each child of mine will be held accountable for his/her decision. I will teach my son to love and respect women and teach my daughter to honor and respect men too. No one is bigger or better than the other. they are first of all humans before being a male or female and such must accord each human the respect they deserve. As my child you mess up by disrecting a lady i whoop your nasty, little black ass with my slippers. Nothing like she is a gal or no he is a boy.

    5. That's why when Toke Makinwa wrote about how mothers should re-orientate their daughters, I was wondering which mothers she means. The mothers that did their best to instil a lot of the erroneous beliefs you've just complained about, or another set of mothers?

I'll keep saying it, many of our mothers didn't try at all. Queens of double standards and gatekeepers of patriarchy, raising broken men and bitter women with their chests. A mother will tell her daughter, "A man must not see your money; all men are useless". So as soon as she sees her son loving on and caring for his wife, demons of karma will start biting mama. Yet she wants her daughter's husband or numerous boyfriends to do what her son must not do for his wife! A young lady will just be carrying around the demons of bitterness she inherited from her mother, and looking for the man in whose life she will happen and manifest. They equip you, so that you will go and be fighting battles that are not even your own. And you will replicate that madness to a new generation.

I had to firmly tell my mother to back off where my husband is concerned, cos he is not and will never be a replica of my biological father. God forbid that my husband will pay for the real and imagined sins of my father. That crap stops with my generation. Heaven help anyone that says I shouldn't spend my own money on a husband that goes and above to honour me in ways that my own father never did for my mother or anybody else.

  34. I don't know why some people are comfortable making other people miserable emotionally through their behaviour and words of their mouth.

You poke your nose into a friend's life behaving as if you care, after you know all his/her problems, you did nothing. You promised to help with a job, you promised to work out loan to solve health challenges etc. Yet you did nothing, trying to still poke your nose into their life to get information. You still dey pose upandan with big house and cars.

You said you are a friend, no you are a fre-enemy. You still want to be buying goods on credit. Real devil. BVs please make una choke mouth for this matter ahhh.

    2. They were never your friend in the first place. Some people feed on your misery to make themselves feel good. Dump this person immediately and look to God for help. He will send strangers to help you if you believe. Big house and cars does not equate with wealth. You don't know whom or what they owe. Face your front and seek God's face.

  37. Moin Moin to y'all.
I woke up happy this morning. I don't know if it's because of the testimony an acquaintance told me yesterday or me just being happy. Whichever one it is, I'm thankful to God for life and I'm happy to be happy. I pray that any of us who seek happiness shall find a cause to be happy today.

My prayer this morning for myself and y'all:

O Lord our God, as we seek your guidance this day we do not ask to see the distant scene, knowing that we can only take only one step at a time. Make that first step plain to us, that we may see where our duty lies. But O Lord, give us a push that we may start in the right direction-through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen

Genital warts is not a bacterial infection but a viral and Its not good that we BVs should recommend antibiotics for you so we dont create more resistant microorganisms to drugs and its not even the right drug to take..A good doctor will recommend drugs for you to take..If you aint satisfied with him, please see another doctor..All the best...

When my mother died we went to the village to inform them as per tradition what this man told me I will never forget. He said our family is finished no father,no mother that people in the village have condemned our family that he is the one saying that they should not say so,I just look am with side eyes now someone I don't even know has died then na me go bury the person?
