In her words...
"Creek life..I spent my weekend identifying humanitarian aid needed deep in the oil producing creeks of Delta State
Opuama community produces oil for Nigeria, yet, THIS is their only source of drinking water!
The water is contaminated, ground is sinking, and homes are destroyed by flooding! Some communities are even worse!
NGOs/Civil societies operating in Delta state/Niger Delta/oil and gas sector should contact me + 234 09038181342"

ReplyDeleteDo we have two Opuamas in Ijawland? Because there is one in Bayelsa too
ReplyDeleteActually there's two opuamas, one in Delta which belongs to the Egbema clan. The ancestors who established this clan in Delta State migrated from Egbema-Angalabiri in Ekeremor l.g.a Bayelsa. I'm from Polobubo the sister community to Opuama all in Egebma. The suffering in that place is no joke. You can feel the poverty around you in the midst of plenty. The Eco system has been destroyed completely by majorly oil company spillages especially Chevron. The minors are the so called illegal bunkering. Suffer too much o... But one day we will emancipate. Haa Izon!
