  3. Whoever thinks the North will discover oil in their area and announce it to the world don't really know them very well. Aren't these people the ones that have be mining gold in Zamfara state for so long? Did they announce it? If not for banditry and when they started killing themselves, we wouldn't have known about the illegal gold mining going on. Come to think that the northern politicians knows about it all along. This is another strategy to.... Let me not even say.

Teejay mining in the north has been going on for decades. We don't have huge commercial deposits of solid minerals that's why we don't have the big mining firms like Rio Tinto, Tata and co hence, we are confined to artisanal mining

Also, it is not the "north" that will announce that they have oil,was it the "South South" who announced that there was oil in the region? Wasn't it SPDC?

  5. They will not touch it preferring to finish the one in the south. By the time they will starting refining it, oil will not be useful again at the rate electric cars are being championed.

    The mentality of the northerner.

    1. Oil will be useless in the not too distant future with the pace of research in alternative energies. But our leaders refuse to think.

  6. That oil Is definitely (solely) for the Northerners alone. Cos whatever mineral found there is their birthright just like the Gold and the
But anything discovered in the South is for One Nigeria. Yeye high Sense people

Lol! Belema oil,an oil exploration firm owned by a Niger-Deltan is in the forefront of oil exploration in the Chad Basin, please let's not continue to peddle the age long held beliefs of one region controlling the resources of another.

  7. Will they now divide Nigeria, since oil is what has kept the south glued to

The north is already dealing with desertification so if we add gas flaring it'll be terrible.
This is the Best time to end gas flaring in Nigeria, the gas we flare daily can generate thousands of megawatts of electricity.

  10. The amount of resources they have wasted in searching for oil in the North can easily build 5 modern refineries and 5 mega power stations. The North that cannot survive without Niger Delta oil money, maybe now that they have their own oil they will leave Niger Delta in peace.
