One of the students died on the spot, while the other two who were immediately rushed to the hospital passed on the next morning.
It is alleged that the operatives of the NCS were chasing suspected smugglers when the ugly incident occurred.
Speaking on behalf of the Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, who expressed shock at the callous act and vowed to unravel the culprits, said,
“We respect the sanctity of human lives in Ogun State and the government exists to provide security and welfare for the people. No matter the circumstances, we find this condemnable. We would not fold our arms and watch our future leaders get killed in this manner.”
He also noted that “we will not just investigate the circumstances of the gory killings of these potential leaders of tomorrow, but will do everything possible to prevent a recurrence and ensure that indicted persons are brought to justice."

They will end up sweeping it under the carpet, is it not customs. The Nigerian military and pro-military agencies are the most popular and well unknown serial killers around and they walk free. Untill we ruse up and say enough, these things wont stop. RIP to the dead.

ReplyDeleteCustom officer should be banned from chasing smugglers. I witnessed an incident 2months and it was very bad, they almost hit me it was God that saved me that day, their vehicle knocked down a motorcycle rider but the man didnt die, he suffered serious injury. This rubbish should be banned.
