ReplyDeleteJust for pictures...I'm sure in future, they would start organising parties.
DeleteThere's a party tonight. Parties actually.. on the island. For Halloween. 😂
DeleteThere are questions I read here that makes me wonder.
DeleteBeen attending halloween parties for as long as I can remember in this NAIJA
Maybe your circle! I even mingled normal in Uni and my friends and I still went for Halloween parties (though it was new experience for some)
Even during service in Kwara State; my buddies still sent me invite for Halloween party at Ilorin notminding I redeployed to Lagos (I didn't attend though because I attended in Lagos).
In a nutshell, there are circles in Nigeria that do this religiously! It's NOT new to me at all...
Toke u no wetin be Halloween? OK nah.

ANG thanks so much for your advice and bible passages you gave to me on Monday's IHN( I think). I was the one that asked for your help concerning dealing with sexual thoughts and urges. I screenshot your post and I've gone thru the Bible passages. Thanks a lot, they were so helpful. I also listened to some messages by Jospeh Prince concerning the same matter. It has made me to renew and strengthen my stance on remaining pure. *kisses*

The road to life is narrow and only a few find it. The road to destruction is
very wide and many enter through it. NOte that they do not need to "find it", they
just enter through it.
Jisie ike.
Toke it is well with you...but you are Nigerian celebrating a different culture..so delusional...
ReplyDeleteWhen did we start celebrating Halloween in Nigeria, or just anything to trend
ReplyDeleteThem 'celebs' have actually been celebrating it before now.
DeleteOdun, not only celebs please. I live in Nigeria and have been celebrating this stuff since secondary school or so.
DeleteMaybe my circle, but comments here are surprising me.
Nothing new at all.
Halloween began as the festival of Samhain,it was part of the ancient Celtic religion in Britain and other parts of Europe. At the end of summer, the celts thought the barrier between our world and the world of ghosts and Spirits got thin. The dead come back to life. So the Celts had a big party! Stella abeg no chop my comment na! Halloween is not a Christian celebration!
DeleteHalloween is a celebration to mark the coming of cold season(winter). You dress up in scary costumes to ward off evil spirits of cold. Cold is bitter and ruthless so you put scary decorations around your house etc. I don’t understand the craving for it now in a tropical region.
ReplyDeleteLol...na famzing naa
DeleteAnon @15:17 please don't say what you don't know! Haba! Which one is cold there in the meaning of Halloween? Halloween began as the festival of Samhain,it was part of the ancient Celtic religion in Britain and other parts of Europe. At the end of summer, the celts thought the barrier between our world and the world of ghosts and spirits got thin. The dead come back to life.So the Celts had a big party. Halloween is not a Christian celebration it should not be Celebrated because there is nothing Christlike about the activities!
DeleteHaaa. See lies with confidence!
DeleteThis wiman get plenty time on her hands. I hopenshe keeps the same energy when her village people celebrate masquerading. Demnlike copy nonsense.
ReplyDeleteNigerians yeyebrities too dey do follow follow. Halloween is not for Christians. My child's school asked me to dress her up for this whole week in a halloween costume,i said to them i am a christian and we dont partake in that. Just for my little one not to feel bad not being dressed up like her mates in school, i just bought her normal fancy dress with nothing to do with halloween.
ReplyDeleteIf you dressed after a bible character..is it bad?? You guys are very funny..Please dont celebrate christmas and Easter you hear cos it has a pagan background so you know...
DeleteDo you know there is a Christian undertone to Halloween Aunty Jesus secretary?
DeleteTomorrow is All Hallow's day. Halloween happens on the Eve of All hallows. *Halloween was gotten from Hallow eve/day*
Be depriving your child over what you don't know o!
Copy and Paste
DeleteJust think small and ponder
MBA
Na copying
No stand, no principles
Nothing
Anything goes
If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything
So where is she wearing it too?
ReplyDeleteSome Nigerians just like to copy copy. When did we start celebrating this nonsense in Nigeria? I shudder at what some of our do called celebrities do. Shame to all Christians celebrating demon worship.
ReplyDeleteAll these copy copy things without understanding the meaning of what they are copying just tire me. Smh.
ReplyDeleteWhen did we start celebrating Halloween in Nigeria? Smh
ReplyDeleteIs Halloween now celebrated in Nigeria?
ReplyDeleteits really not that deep
ReplyDeleteWetin concern Africans with Halloween. All these people wey dey form say dem read book sef dem no read sense join with the book.
ReplyDeleteThis is Scary....
ReplyDeletePlease where else do they celebrate Eyo festival in the world, other than Nigeria ?
ReplyDeleteNkiru read and see that it’s the aspect of the dress up I wrote up there. I know its Samhain pagan roots but I only talked about the dress up aspect! Aren’t we talking about the outfit here!
ReplyDeleteI’m happy you at least mentioned the end of summer so, after summer is what? Isn’t it winter. State your fact and don’t discredit another as it’s all same points under the same topic but different facets. In Halloween celebration it was thought to the Celtics that the dead came out when the cold season was almost ushered in- if winter has bitten you Nkiru before you will not blame them. If with modern technology it’s still like this- I can imagine back in those days. That was the belief! So, they in turn dress as such to blend and to ward off they also used turnips decorations around their houses which was switched to pumpkin lanterns with its entry into the US..
ReplyDeleteAfter summer, it's FALL! Before Winter.
DeleteAnon 14:32 autumn /fall isn't according to solstice calendar. Shes not wrong.it has to do with solstice. Same as Christmas and Easter. These things are set according to the moon.
Delete1Cor 11v25, Matt 26v27-29, Mark 14v22-25
ReplyDeleteWhat Jesus Christ told his disciples /true Christians to CELEBRATE is the Holy Communion (the sacrifice of his body and blood to save humanity) using unleavened bread and wine in his REMEMBRANCE TILL HE RETURNS.
If you have not accepted Christ's free salvation and living your life for him, what you celebrate is your choice.
Not all things are expedient.
If you want to be or live like the world, YOU CANNOT PLEASE GOD.
It's that simple.
God knows those who live for him in spirit and truth.
Why is toke so obsessed with everything America. Does she even know what Halloween mean? I mean this girl is obsessed with reality shows characters, and black culture as a whole. Stupid girl when you were growing up in your Nigeria do you celebrate Halloween
