The wife of the Vice President made the call at the 49th Benue Women in Prayer Convocation, held at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Makurdi on Saturday.
She also urged women to take the act of motherhood seriously to mitigate the growing cases of indecent dressing, drug abuse and other social ills in the country.
Osinbajo admitted that though women had individual challenges but with constant prayers, God would always answer them hence appealed to women to be prayerful and learn to take all their worries to the Lord in prayers for answers.
EVERY TIME ITS THE GIRL CHILD. HOW ABOUT WOMEN TRAIN THEIR SONS NOT TO BECOME MONSTERS, RAPIST AND ALL.
ReplyDeleteYou want to train people not to be criminals. Lol. Ok.
DeleteTell the mothers of armed robbers to train their children not to rob na. Don’t protect yourself from low lives, be forming woke.
Meanwhile, there’s also admonition against drug abuse and social ills, but what do I know?
Indecent dressing is not our problem Madam Preacher. ..tell ur Minister of Condolence @Trader Moni Hawker of a husband to fix d country....talkin nonsense wen dere r pressin issues at hand. ..i no wan vex o. .Today na Sunday

DeleteMy sister
Look at the kind of men we have in this generation , the worse kind od entitled men. Mothers should try and raise responsible me to balance the great women we have now
The thing is, "indecent" by whose standard ? I say this cos, what may seem indecent by you may be normal for me and vice versa. To some, Kiki dresses indecent, to others , leaving your hair open is indecent, some others trousers are indecent while some, until you cover your body to ankle level, you are indecent . What we term indecent in some cases is the norm of other places. This decency thing is tricky on a general note . I think it should either be specified or another word used eg, exposed etc. My opinion
ReplyDeleteKiki is not a girl-child. The operative word being girl-child.
DeleteI don't think that's what she's really referring to.... Every where in the world, there's what they address or termed as indecent dressing/body exposure.
DeleteIf I wear a dress and my boobs are spilling out, it will draw people's attention.
If I wear a bum short that covers only half of my bumbum, people will turn and stare
If a man wear a very tight boxer and his member and balls packed in a way that will draw people's attention, people will stare and make comments.
Indecent exposure always have a way to draw negative attention.
My only issue is them always stereotyping women as the only indecent dressers.
I thought Indecent dressing and deliberate exposure of things that are meant to be hidden are the same thing na.
DeleteSame girl just wants to talk. Use your discretion, we all have an idea what it means...
DeleteLol. We've moved beyond dressing issue, oh. She should talk to "mothers" that want/prefer their daughters to use their vagina to buy them supermarket, cars, house, etc. Some of those supermoms are in churches today, lifting holy hands and praying against their enemies. Forget the dressing now cos some girls whose mothers pimp them out are dressed like normal people.
ReplyDeleteThank u @Same girl. As long as u are not a core Moslem, u can’t be 100% decently dressed all d time. It’s either u make up , paint or wear long nails, wear jewelries or trousers which some people see as sin, revealing some part of ur body, relax, fix or color ur hair, wearing wigs, changing d tone of ur skin ,especially when it’s wrongly done et al. Her Excellency & her family are die hard members of Redeem which kicks against some of d above mentioned as can be observed from how Mummy GO dresses, but almost 99.9% of their members , including her Excellency’s daughters are guilty of all d above. As time evolves, things are going from bad to worse & it’s a pity that there’s nothing one can do about it. If indecent dressing is part of going to hell , then ur guess is as good as mine when d time comes. Fab Sunday guys.
ReplyDeleteIf you are confused about what it means, simply google the word “decent”. It has a literal meaning
DeleteIndecent dressing = exposing your body parts; whether by leaving them open or wearing outfits that are too tight. Those of you talking about hair etc are pretending not to understand what she means. Na una sabi. Just remember that Kings might sleep with whores but would never bring them into the palace as a Queen...and when they make that mistake, it doesn't last. Wasn't it on this same blog that people were complaining of Maureen, Redvigor's dressing? How about Yvonne Jegede? Need I say more???
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as "indecent dressing." It's an idiotic concept, which is sexist and patriarchal. Always wanting to put a microscope to what women wear, as if that's the problem. If I see a man at the poolside, in tight briefs, that show off the outline of a very big penis, am I at liberty to ambush him in the bathroom and forcibly suck his dick? The answer is "no!"
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, it's time to stop stereotyping women. As adults, we are responsible for our own actions and no one elses. Therefore, a woman's short or revealing dress should not cause you to do anything untoward. Someone as exposed and as educated as Dolapo is supposed to know that abuse has nothing to do with "indecent dressing" and everything to do with power. This is why I hate churches like RCCG, which insist on espousing this sexist rhetoric.
Tell Kiki to stop buying material things for guys in exchange for their love. Charity begins at home.
ReplyDeleteWith all the news in Naija on incessant sexual abuse of minors/girls/women, Dolapo, remained as quiet as a tombstone. It's now she wants to blame the same victimized groups for indecent dressing. How about you call out all the rapists and would-be monsters in human skin to zip it up? Why should girls/women bear the blame for some men's lack of self control and indiscipline? Why re-victimize the victims? Whatever happened to speaking truth to power?
ReplyDeleteSo is it indecent dressing that has caused the country to be where it is today? Millions and millions of people who don't even have an outhouse to shit in, schools that look like bombed out buildings, hospitals that are death trap with not even the simplest of alcohol wipes or bandages for easy care? Is it indecent dressing that causes the trade in body parts, poverty levels so high that ppl are dropping dead from malnutrition, and mental illness on the rise because of financial pressures. Was is indecent dressing that caused the tribal wars and tribal killings? Is it indecent dressing that is causing the abuse of children in forced labour under the guise of household? Is it indecent dressing why civil servants cannot get a pay cheque for even an entire year? The country did not become a hell hole because daughters are not dressing decently, the country is a hell hole for the vast majority of the populace, but the only thing you can seek to inspire mothers with is the need to make sure their daughters do not dress indecently. Not one word of hope to mothers who live in fear in an insecure nation where jobs are hard to come by and the majority of the citizentry live in abject poverty, do you honestly think a woman who does not know where the next meal is coming from cares a rat's ass about indecent dressing. A mother who can't afford the medication or treatment to save her life does not care about your Bull crap speech. Speeches like these are simply diversion tactics used to keep ppl thinking about a useless issue while the real issues which affect their day to day lives goes unmentioned. Mothers do not fall for the distraction! Ask the hard question, what kind of Nigeria are you leaving for your children to inherit? Look around and ask yourself if in these modern times your child deserves to be going to a federal university using filthy toilets, catching water from a well, using a lecture hall that is overcrowded, smelly and hot. If the oil dried up tomorrow what would Nigeria become?
ReplyDeleteIndecent dressing is a luxury discussion that only those who are suitably comfortable can chat about. These women in power with voices to inspire and build hope in the people their husbands govern are just as useless as the men who wrecked the nation and have brought the ppl to such a low status that being Nigerian is no longer a title of envy, but one of global ridicule.
