Onigbinde, a critic of President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government who was recently appointed Technical Adviser at the Ministry of Budget and National Planning by the same government resigned his appointment on Monday.

    1. To criticize is easy but come and do your part, he accepted the job but later resigned. He claimed to know the problems by dishing out statistics on Twitter, oya coman do it na. He japa. Maybe he's not as good as he claimed or party loyalists pushed him out.

Someone commented below that Obi rejected being appointed by this gvt, what of Soludo and others that accepted the offer? They are not fools na. They are seasoned professionals. Nonsense talk!

He should resume criticism on Twitter while other patriotic professionals take up the national assignment.

The Twitter senator too was screaming "common sense"on Twitter, radio and tv. Only to be elected as senator and we realized that he's owing #11b and common sense did not tell him to pay back. He also proposed nonsense bill that Nigeria should ban use of petrol cars when our economy is dependent on crude oil.

  3. IMO he should never have accepted the position. He was a very vocal critic both online and offline. His Twitter account was on 🔥🔥🔥over the administration and then he turns around and accepts?
Where has it been seen in the history of this country's administration that a vocal critic takes such a post and doesn't lose his voice? They will use the national cake and change your soprano to alto! You will begin to make excuses and the position is as an adviser not even to head where you can at least try and control the narrative to an extent. That post was a trap and thank God he saw it for what it is.
People bashed the living daylight out of him and he saw his credibility slipping away. This administration will come and go but ones integrity once lost may never be regained

    1. Ralu, this is the second time I am saying I love you again for today. When I said it yesterday, some persons were crying over my comments. You don't do things that way Seun, who ever advise you to take up that appointment didn't mean well for you and want to see you being rubbished. Ngozi Okonjo was approached by this government but she declined. Do you think she was stupid for doing that? The assemblage of this administration are terrible set of people with questionable characters and as such you don't need to associate with them else you become complicit of their crimes and mismanagement.

    2. That's why I love Gani Fawehinmi and he still stands a hero and Femi Falana as well, that boy called Festus Keyamo has no dignity kobo 🤷🏾‍♀️

    3. He should accept the job if he really want to effect change! U can’t change a light bulb from outside. U have to be in the room to do that!

      Just Krix!

    4. 💯
That said, his credibility is already shaky because one, he accepted the position to begin with, and two, when he was found out, he deleted his tweeter account and later resurfaced saying the reason was cos he had no data 😀
Twitter don dey delete account the minute your data finish? Some even said he hasn't sat down well sef yet he has taken over from Lai Mohammed in constructing infantile lies 🤣
That he has resigned shows he still has regard for what people say or his reputation. But you see that initial acceptance, hmm...
To me sha, most activists and critics are only looking for something. The second they get it, they cross. We've seen it time and time again. Freedom fighters actually make the most despots.
Las Las, na hunger and obsession with power dey worry many of them.

    5. So he should keep criticizing but when he was given the chance to effect the change he felt would benefit the country, he should decline, abi?

If he no want, another person go do am

  6. Oby Ezekwesili commended him for the resignation. I strongly believed he erred in that acceptance and to make it look strange, he deactivated his twitter account which he had used to criticized the government in the past soon as he accepted the appointment. Doesn't that speak volume why he is being criticized? What was he trying to pass as an information by doing that?

Seun chill, a better administration will definitely use you. This administration doesn't forgive and will rubbish you for those criticism you unleashed on them, for it's only a matter of time before you will be roped into accusations. You can't work effectively with this criminal administration. The cabals won't let you do better to expose them further and trust me, you will loose your worth and integrity. I will leave you with this word "One of the truest test of integrity is its blunt refusal to be compromised"

    1. We have no true critics in this country.
Only very hungry famished men and women who are scouting for their next meal ticket.

How do you criticise something for so long and do widely.

And then come and form 'I want to join to make a change.'Kpele, Seun Mandela. The one you were doing before was what??

  8. Mr Seun..You lie..You did not resign..You were kicked out and deleting your twitter account was where you messed up...Both you and Buhari's philosophies do not align at all, so you cannot win but join them and get soiled..

  9. You guys are missing the forest for trees. Seun’s resignation is unfortunate because it shows this generation is all bark and no bite. Seun was given a golden opportunity to prove his mettle and he ran like a coward because of public ridicule. We are not ready. The idiots currently running the government from Lagos to Borno are being insulted daily and dem no send. Dem dey face dis agenda.

We were here shouting not too young to run, now dem dash you opportunity, you japa.

Beko and Olikoye Ransome Kuti were given ministerial positions in military regimes they critiqued, they accepted and did their best and when their principles and government mismanagement clashed they resigned. It was an indictment on the government, not them.

    1. So why did he delete his Twitter handle?

    2. Thank you Rambo. Truly Nigerian youths are just lazy and known to be arm chair critic. They gave him the opportunity to serve and prove to them and Nigerians his just not another noise maker. Instead he ran away. This should serve as a reminder that insulting a person is different from giving constructive criticism. The dude had to delete his twitter account when the appointment came. All you vulgar arm chair critic continue oooo, until when appointment come you start running upandan to delete your various social media handle.

    3. Rambo you are a very cerebral person and you reason with intelligence ..dont mind all them teejay that will not divorce political affiliation from.reality and practicality...

    4. Anon 14:21 you sound funny. So the millions of Nigeria that was against his decision was stupid? I know of all people my name is the sweetest in your hands to type. I won't respond to you today like I would have done, maybe some other day.

    5. @Teejay Seun cannot prove anything in this government..His and Buhari's philosophies do not align at all..Him deleting his twitter account was a bad move...he will get himself soiled...He is better a critic..

    6. Rambo you talk well o. It's either he japa because of public noise or party politics pushed him out. And the youths in this country baffle me a lot.

Many of them dey here on Sdk. I've sampled their oga many times on critical matters, but he failed badly. I don't even want to dignify him by typing his sdk moniker. They don't have any idea at all. Sentiments and petty arguments has eaten deep into their sense of reasoning

      Delete
    7. @What Else, you are right. He's such a material the reason I don't want him rubbished.

      Delete
    8. @TeeJay, I don’t know why he deleted his account, but I suspect he knew he would be dragged from here to Katmandou.
Also, the fact that a majority of people want something doesn’t make it the best thing; refer to MMM and the voting of Buhari.

Anyone who aspires to public public service must be ready to be dragged. Go to Trump’s twitter page and you will feel pity for the man. He will be talking about Iran’s nuclear weapons and someone will come and tell him he’s a fake business man because he had bankrupted businesses. The moment you enter the public arena all bets are off, and you must develop a thick skin.

Thanks for the compliments, @Anon14:21 and Adesega. I only pray this country achieves it massive potential; even half potential sef and we’re good.

  10. It is easy to talk about issues. If you feel Buhari is not doing it well then do your own. They give you opportunity to contribute and you run. Coward....mtcheeew.

  11. Seun is not an armchair critic, it was most unfortunate that he accepted the position it made me question his integrity anf even now that he's resigned, it shows he lacks backbone too.
