President Buhari's Directive Of No Contact With New Ministers -Your View

President Muhammadu Buhari swore in his 44 new Ministers on Wednesday and gave a directive that the ministers should submit any request meant for him to his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Buhari also directed the  Ministers to direct all executive matters to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha.

What do you think about this directive? That is a lot of power he has pur in the hand of Boss and Abba........

  1. No cool at all. It's now like the chief of staff is in charge more than him. The people voted for him and we don't know his chief of staff.

  4. So wrong and unwise if you asked me. I remember this was what caused rift between Kyari and Amaechi sometime ago in last administration. What if the minister don't have a good rapport with Abba Kyari? Does it mean he can't see Mr President or get his attention? This will further pave way for Abba Kyari to seek monetary gains from these ministers or contract in order to grant them access. We all know his role in the Tele communication bribery saga of 500million.

Do you realize what it means to be President of a country like Nigeria? Too many issues, so you can’t take every single issue to the President. That’s the reason there’s a chief of staff and an SGF, those have always been powerful positions.

  13. This is what you get when a dumb ass president is in charge. I would have been surprised if it were otherwise. Worse surprises awaits Nigerians in the days ahead. Nigerians are receiving sense in a very hard and unpleasant way.

  14. When they say he is a clone, people argue, now the drama is unfolding. He doesn't know anything about Nigeria, so that is the best thing to do so that his secret will be kept hidden.

  15. That has always been the position in Bubu's government. It is just that he came public to validate it. Abaa Kyari has always been in charge and makes decision ob behalf of Bubu. Even VP couldn't do anything about it so who are the ministers?
Bubu has to announce it because he has people like oversabi lawyer Keyamo on board so they go know say the bucks stops at Kyari's table. I won't be surprise if na Kyari tell am say "tell them now oo say na me dey in charge make e for no bring quarrel" and Bubu had to do it public instead of calling him minister to corner and tell them.
It is not news that we have a figure head president whose Chief of staff governs on his behalf and he refuse to go and rest. This can only happen in Africa

  16. There is nothing surprising about this action of Buhari, everybody knows that he is clannish and unprogressive, he will rather hand over power to the cabal than allow progressive people to move the country forward.

  17. Standard procedure all over the world. We must begin to do things right and learn to keep sentiments in our anus. Ni matter how the persons are perceived, it iis the right thing to do

  18. He said that they should forward requests to meet him through the chief of staff. Meanwhile, the federal executive council is still to meet on Wednesdays as usual. Your headline is misleading. He has not said they should report to the chief of staff, but that if they want to meet him, pass the request through chief of staff. It's not the same thing.
