Nigeria's Highest Paying Actors And Actresses....

The Entertainment Industry all over the World Parades its highest paid for all to see and the figures of their earnings always take our breaths away......

As shocking as it may seem,Nigeria does not Seem to have a highest paid actor or actress list because Nollywood went down the drain and can only churn out low quality movies which are almost being shot with actors and actresses who only bargain to be put on cover in exchange for a take home pay....

Years back Actress Genevieve Nnaji used to be Nollywoods highest paying actress with her Colleagues Omotola,Rita Dominic,ET AL following closely...

Ramsey Nouah,RMD,Desmond Elliott ET AL used to be on  highest paid list but right now they have grown bigger than the Industry and even though their claim to fame remains Nollywood, their source of wealth is not.....

If we go round the figures and present a highest paid in the movie industry,it would amount to nothing in International figures........

When their International colleagues are taking as much as 50million USD per script or as low as 20million USD per script,Nollywood pays at least a thousand dollars for a movie role amongst the celebs now...

Nollywood highest paid actor is..........................NONE
Nollywood highest paid actress is ........................NONE

If you had to make a highest paid list from Nollywood, what names would you include?

You are free to correct my writeup if you have more facts!

  1. Why should we know the Nollywood highest paid actresses?
That one is impossible because the actresses are acting with their vjs for politicians and moneybags in Dubai and all other hotels around the
    world.
    Shame of a Nation.

    2. I cannot comprehend it when some people compare actors fees in Hollywood with what obtains in 'Nollywood'. What is the GDP of Nigeria??? A very 'good' film in Nigeria rakes in how much on the average?? Converted to US Dollars, how much is this? An actors fees is determined by these indices. It is quite very simple.

  4. Lol...I beg to disagree.
There is ALWAYS a highest paid actor/actress. If doesn’t matter if it’s far below what their foreign counterparts earn, it’s still the truth of the local industry.
What you may say is that collating the data may be very difficult. As a matter of fact, in terms of nominal (not real) value, actors/actresses now would be earning higher than what the industry was paying in its infancy. The problem is data.

  6. As you probably know, Nollywood doesn't operate a studio system. The productions are mainly indie ones, with relatively few that a corporate organisation may give you some money if you dance to their tune.

Bearing the above in mind, on what planet is a Nollywood actor or actress in Nigeria going to get paid anything near $20m right now? It might happen if the dollar depreciates to the value of Naira, sha. But seriously speaking, apart from the fact that it's just not feasible right now, there is NOBODY in Nollywood whose acting ability is worth such an amount. Anyone who thinks it's beef or hate can go to Hollywood and collect $20m for an acting job and show us the cheque on Instagram.

But it's not a Nollywood problem. The salary of a Nigerian policeman, doctor, teacher, etc isn't the same as that of his/her counterpart in the United States.

    1. Asaba movies pay more than Cinema movies. Why do you think Queen Nwokoye, Mercy Johnson and Nkoli are busier than your cinema actors?

  13. Mercy Johnson.Asaba movies or not.She is very well paid. And the other lady Queen Nwokoye. Those old actors were not paid as much as Mercy and queen receive now trust me on this.Genevieve made muoney from Nollywood but made more money from endorsements and appearances, and some politicians and influential men paid her heavily just to date her then.Yes!! She was that hot.

  14. Highest paid collects about N800k. The lowest paid go as far as paying directors with poon and cash to just feature even as a Waka pass. Nigeria quickly turning into pay to act. Na actresses dey pay directors. Nigeria is reversed.
