Labour Room Drama 267

OMG!!!

Hmmmmm  Stella, if not God, my story is a long one but this God came through for me...

I was one week past my due date, 41weeks, I was warned that I will be referred to the main general hospital, and that place is way too expensive, so after a friend of mine called to tell me that she had put to birth, I became unrelaxed and worried, I decided to visit the health center since it's not far from me.

I got there and met one Nurse, she was the one on duty for that night, I explained my plight to her but she quickly told me that I must be referred because they are not allowed to do any induction there, I begged and begged, yet she refused, I told her that I don't have 100 and something thousand to pay for hospital bill and that my husband had left us and it was just me and this baby, I started crying and she was consoling me, finally she agreed to induce me, if only I agree to keep it to myself and not discuss it with anyone that will implicate her, I quickly agreed, she also said that I will be the one to buy everything that will be needed for the induction, as they don't have the drugs there, I accepted.... Hmmmmm

We calculated everything and it amounted to 15,500naira, I had a lone 20k I was saving for emergency in my account, I transferred it all to her, she was like, I said 15,500naira, why are you giving me 20k? I said because I want your undivided attention, she smiled and said thank you, at 4pm, she inserted the drugs and gave me some injections too, she dipped her hand very deep into my cervix and something there, Ahhhhh I saw Oba, I screamed my chest out, in less than an hour, I started feeling serious contractions, it was hell.

She was using every means possible to increase the labour pain, I dilated till 6cm, suddenly the cervix started getting stronger, stiff and thick, it started closing up, she became scared, she checked my BP and it had gone up to 166/124, my head was banging, she started praying, suddenly at 9pm, I started having push, the urge was terrible but she said I shouldn't push that it was not a normal push as that would injure me, but I couldn't help it, I started begging her to allow me push, finally she agreed.

I tried and tried to push, whossaiii!! Nothing was forthcoming, at 9:30pm, this serious urge came cos I was not myself anymore, I don shout, cry sotteyyy I don lose my voice, no more strength, I pushed and the baby's hand came out, she shouted, brought olive oil and started massaging the vagina, and then the baby head came out, she kept massaging till the whole body came out, the heavy bleeding was rushing out like some heavy tap, it took 15mins before the placenta managed to come out ,but the bleeding continued.....

They prepared the ambulance and was ready to move me, I begged her to check inside my womb, pain round two started as she inserted her hand inside my womb and was packing out blocks of blood until she brought out something she called membrane, na so the bleeding take stop ooo, even the placenta cord had gone thin and was almost cutting before it came out, it was all a miracle, and immediately after the delivery, my BP came down to 100/75, .....

help me thank this God, he did me well, baby is 4kg, I am safe and sound, baby is okay too, we were discharged the next morning,  and we are back at home now...

Our God is faithful

*Awwww, even you that didnt have had to give dash to catch attention....Thank God that it ended well my dear!!!
All praises go back to God almighty!!!

  8. Praise God for you Poster but women pleeeease DO NOT TRY THIS!!! Ah because of money you nearly lost your life. What the nurse did was extremely unprofessional and very dangerous and she should lose her licence. You could have bled to death and your child could have died too. Next time rally round and find the money to go to a good hospital.

  10. You are risking your life for money? In FMC ebute metta I have met a few people who cannot pay their bills after operations and they were still cared for.
NHIS is for everyone. Register with 15k and you will get to give birth with almost nothing and you will have free antenatal and post natal for you and your baby. So if the baby has a little issue after birth, they would treat them too. Pls if you have any questions about it I will gladly answer.
I lost a young church member of my on Christmas day because she went to deliver at a nurse because no money. It was painful because we where not informed. Pls let's all take our health seriously.

Me sef I need to loose weight, lol.

I was scared to go to FMC fr delivery despite the fact im under NHIS cos the kin episiotomy they gave me was 4th degree.I will go to health centre again,God will perfect it.Congrats

  18. Poverty die Poverty die Poverty die!
Look at the risk that she was putting herself in.

Why do you people procreate without unlimited funds?
The way I dislike any type of suffering that has got to do with lack of money eh

  20. You risked your life because of a man that impregnated you and left you too suffer. Next time, guide your body well...don't let any man that won't treat you right, take care of your needs and give you money put a child into your womb.

  22. Thank God for you poster. Ladies if you are bleeding heavily after delivery, please insist they check you to make sure all that should be out is out. I almost lost a colleague to this, in her case she continued bleeding for 3 months before her husband found one very good doctor, he just checked her and booked her for D&C immediately, apparently she had retained pieces of placenta or something. After the procedure the bleeding stopped immediately. It's 8 years already and my friend has refused to have another baby😀. She's 3 so it's okay.

  30. Stella, my story is coming. I put to bed but I'm needing surgery as I had fourth degree tears, ruptured splinter and rectovaginal fistula. I'm so sad. Hoping the surgery comes in cheap as we are not wealthy. Hoping I come out alive too. It is well.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That was risky.
You should have waited. Maybe a week or more and you wouldn't need inducing.

This is how people loose their lives.
Heard of one that did, birthed in health centre too to twins and started bleeding.

She was eventually rushed to UPTH but died a week later

The risk is not worth it.

Pls no one should try this.

  32. Reading this my tummy started paining me. You took great risk. Omg omg

  33. The problem here is that people don't do proper research. I gave birth to my baby in Kubwa Abuja, in a private hospital and my total bill was about 5k, as in FIVE THOUSAND NAIRA ONLY! I found that hospital after asking questions and the staff are so professional. I'm sure that if the poster had searched well, she could have given birth safely for less than the amount she paid that unscrupulous nurse. Ignorance is indeed dangerous.Thank God mother and baby came out alive and well.
