Spokesperson for the university, Malam Lamara Garba disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Kano. According to the statement, their expulsion was approved by the Senate of the University at its 374th meeting which was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
It added that six others were withdrawn for presenting fake results from their institutions while another student was withdrawn for presenting a cancelled NECO result.
The statement, however, said 18 students would be re-invited to appear before the Senate Committee on Entry Qualification Irregularities, to give them fair hearing.
A breakdown of the expelled students indicated that 10 were of the Faculty of Education, nine from Faculty of Social and Management Sciences while Faculties of Law, Agriculture, Science, Engineering and Arts and Islamic Studies had one each.

WICKEDNESS!!!
ReplyDeleteYou waited till their final year to expel them.
Mehn.. Like they didn't know earlier. I mean, what's the point?
DeleteWeren't they supposed to screen/crosscheck/review all documents at entry level.. TF!
I no dey support the students o but mehnn, E gatz pain to be them right bout now. Damn!
Prospective students should learn from this and not venture into result forgery. Good luck to those affected. Never the end of the world.
DeleteMy alma mater, a no-nonsense school.
ReplyDeleteI thought students are normally screened when they get admitted, why weren't all these seen then?
They are screened but authenticity of results are checked later on.
DeleteEven in unn my sch, its checked at 3rd/4th year.
I thg ink it's from waec.
I believe they send original results after some years post exam
after all the tests, assignment, early morning lectures, exams, reading and all that? Oh no
ReplyDeletePlus the money spent.
DeleteWill they refund them the school fees theyve been paying?...
i don't think they will refund their school fees either..this country prefers medicine after death. Why wait till final year to check for fake results
DeleteIt happens mostly when undergoing final year clearance.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a very sad thing though.
Why wait until they are in their finals before expulsion? why not conduct certificate verification exercise in 300 level.
ReplyDeleteSome of the students wouldn't be aware. Happened to a lady I know, 400L second semester , she had finished exams, project and defence. Just final clearance , she discovered she had a fake admission all the while and she was expelled. She vowed not to go back to school but her family insisted. She started business, got married , then started a part time course. She's a proud graduate today, the only good thing to come out of her experience was that she was doing business in millions before she starTed her part-time schooling, so she just got the certificate for having it, she has never looked for a job in her life. She's not even interested in looking for a job. To the affected students, please don't commit suicide because of this, find a way of turning your lemons into lemonade.
ReplyDeleteSo painful.
