The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had valued the items at $40m.
At the court on Friday, Nicholas Oweibo, a judge, ordered the temporary seizure of the items following an ex parte application moved by Rotimi Oyedepo, lawyer for the EFCC.
According to the schedule attached to the application, some of the 2150 pieces of jewellery, categorised into 33 sets, include “419 expensive bangles; 315 expensive rings; 304 expensive earrings; 267 expensive necklaces; 189 expensive wristwatches; 174 expensive necklaces and earrings; 78 expensive bracelets; 77 expensive brooches; and 74 expensive pendants.”
The anti-graft commission said it found and recovered the items in the premises of Alison-Madueke, adding that it suspected that the former minister acquired them with “proceeds of unlawful activities.”
The judge adjourned the matter till August 23, 2019.

ReplyDeleteWhen i see all these, i'm glad he didnt... he was too non chalant.
DeleteThats why i tell ladies, be careful what you wish & pray for, y'all constantly say you want a good man, good husband.... it doesnt end there, he can be good quite alright, but also good in other aspects you'd dislike, Goodluck was good in ignoring the corruption around him, good in bearing the name President and not acting it.... Your prayers should be detailed with specifics
Greeddddddd!!!!
ReplyDeleteDiezeni would have been very very vert vety comfortable if greed hadnt taken the best of her. Now, she doesn't have peace. Alll the diamonds to what end?
They might sell it and put (loot) e money back in the system
Greed.... her own extended into her 4th generation.
DeleteAh na was o
ReplyDeleteSee as I open mouth. One person get all these?
ReplyDeleteAbi oo @ Stella.
ReplyDeleteEverything will be resold and the money will go into the country's treasury.
ReplyDeleteI also want to believe that all those luxurious jewelleries are insured.
If Nigeria 🇳🇬 had a cosmetics museum, they would been sent there with a caption beneath it, on how ojúkòkòrò Diezani stole the country's wealth and the jewelleries the only things that the government could recover from her.
Let her name remain in the history book as a thief, looter, a corrupt woman and a killer.
.... Goodluck would have been the best president ever, but the thieves & looters that surrounded him didnt let him be, he just gave them a car & the key with smooth tard road to drive as they like.
ReplyDeleteIncluding his wife? Madame acquired so much wealth by just being a first lady without any particular business line to justify the leap.
Delete2,150 pieces of expensive jewelry!

Teejay, my compatriot, come and see the one of the people that cog in our wheel of progress ooo...
Greed!!! How could one person own so much jewelry for one lifetime?? Meanwhile, one descent hospital where the masses can go and receive treatment and get meds sef nor de. I have no sympathy for she and her cohorts.

DeleteSomething that those in government will still share among their wives and daughters. After d dust settles u wont hear anything about it again. Where are those recovered Abacha loot and what did they do with it?
ReplyDeleteI think she is London because she gave up all this jewellery and landed properly! All this silence and cancer scam she played on Nigerians wont work. She should pay for what she did. Her actions should have consequences! I have never seen an Nigerian jailed for corruption we need to wake up!
ReplyDelete*properties *
ReplyDeleteSee how Teejay is conspicuously missing from this post.
ReplyDeleteGifts from those that solicited contracts from her through the backdoor. Nigerians know how to give bribe. Still corrupt enrichment!
ReplyDeleteWhat is she doing with 2,150 pieces of Jewelries?!
Lots of these women in power have same, even the late former First Lady that made that office popular.
Once I have lots of clothes and accessories I feel choked and irritated with them.
Who are even those doing bunkering ? Sabotaging our sovereign wealth.
Black Africans are too far from mental emancipation and development. They are still trapped by mental slavery to greed, accumulation of material wealth and basic things of life because they think good things of life would finish or run out of stock. They think and live at the level of basic instincts and survival of the fittest mentality like animals in the jungle.
They fail to see what the outside world are doing and how they are using their intellect to disrupt, enhance and excel in all aspects of life.
Black Africans think and live for today, then DIE tomorrow en mass of causes that are preventable just by thinking of the common good and putting the right things in place.
There is nothing of value to pass on from the generation in their 70s nans 80s now to the those in their 50s and 40s much less those in their twenties and teens. N. O. T. H. I. N. G!
Forget it! 100 years from now, Black Africans will have retrogressed 1 million years BC.
You are one smart and intelligent fellow. I couldn't agree more with you. Our people continue to die due to " Me, Me, Mentality!!!
DeleteExcellent comments from a very intelligent person.
DeleteTeejay come and see ooh....LOl!
ReplyDeleteEyan kan soso
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing. Aisha has amassed ten times more jewellery than Diezani. Even Dolapo that fakes simple, her gist of 1.5 million dollar gold and diamond shopping spree is all around Dubai shops. All is vanity
