Mr Tonye insinuated that the young man had no respect and/or did not know who the Professor was.......
The young man who identifies himself as Mr Tosin Odunfa in this post explains what really happened and why he insisted on getting his seat back.....
What caught my attention ''Prof didnt mind getting up...''!!!..And some people wanted to break their heads arguing that the Prof was so embarrassed he quickly got up...
Meanwhile if you are a Nigerian and do not know anything about Professor Wole Soyinka,Chinwe Achebe,Cyprain Ekwensi,et al....Please start now!!!
Taking panadol for other people's headache, how market?
ReplyDeleteHe is not the person that responded 🖤
DeleteTosin that works with EbonyliveTV??? I dey come first.
DeleteUniversity of what??Mtchew!
Deletesince 1900
DeleteAutistic people find it hard to change routines, once something has be set out for them, they follow it to the latter, they are hardly spontaneous, so you cannot just change a decision without prior notice.
DeleteThis is how most Nigerians react to an issue, forever jumping into conclusion.
so there is only one Tosin Odunfa in the world. You never go facebook see 10 people bearing your exact name.
DeleteBut you're number one panadol drinker..Tonto, cecci.
DeleteWho got the guy's contact 😘😘😘😘
DeleteEnter your reply...Chinua Achebe has a daughter called Chinwe Achebe...I getit
DeleteHe lied about not knowing Prof.
ReplyDeleteDid you read the part where he is on the austistic spectrum? If you did, am sure you would understand why he possible won't know him...
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteWhere is this his Mani... place? I don't know if I believe his autism spectrum story. He needs to read up about Tonye Cole also. Those are 2 giants he was playing with. While he was right, what he did was inexpedient . He's Yoruba too?! Na wa. Lol@ teach about wole Soyinka in school. English was mandatory when I was in school, and I read and had to read the lion and the jewel. The guy probably walks around deaf or schooled abroad.
Delete😱😱😱
ReplyDeleteNa dem! People who won't just mind thier business! We have them on this blog, everywhere, even at the ends of the earth! Y can't y'all just see, observe, and turn to the other side!? Will u die? Will u turn to salt or dry up!? I just can't deal mehn!
ReplyDeleteKelvin Dat Edo Boi (Stellz Cousin)
Aunty Stella good morning from this side, oh before I leave, it's actually Chinua Achebe. Please advice our youths to go and read 'There was a Country' Okay let me clock in, I know am late to work already.
ReplyDeleteClock in? Do u work in healthcare settings in UK?
DeleteWhat's with the Aunty Stella🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
DeleteYou don’t have to work in healthcare to clock in.you have to clock in at most organizations in the UK and the US
DeleteKikikikikiki e don do. The young man broke no law.
ReplyDeleteThis is why it's good to hear all sides of the story before rushing to judge.
ReplyDeleteHow often do you get to hear both sides?
DeleteTrue!
DeleteSo true!!!
DeleteExactly.
DeleteHmmm....I guess we shouldn’t be too quick to judge. There’s a lesson here though and I hope BVs will learn even before going on to make comments. He didn’t not reply like a rabid dog. He would have been justified to do so but he didn’t. Civilized people all of them from Wole Soyinka, Mr Cole and the guy with a baseball cap. We all must learn.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile one of my greatest desires in life is to meet Professor Wole Soyinka.
The young man responded very respectfully and maturely
DeleteStella if you knew anything about Chinua Achebe😂 you wouldn't have spelt his name like that
ReplyDeleteTonye Cole is the bad one here. He tried so hard to paint the young man bad by describing him the way he did.
ReplyDeleteLater, they will be claiming Nigerian youths does not know their rights and can't fight for them, whereas the ones who have knowledge of their rights and demand for it will be be quickly castigated and be told they don't have respect.
Respect and courtesy work hand in hand.
Exactly Ms A
DeleteHe thought as usual its a lazy Nigerian youth. This guy is brilliant, has a PHD and teaches nano electromagnetic theory in a university. Is it easy ?
DeleteYou are very correct Ms A
DeleteAre you minding that Tonye cole.....very annoying write up, very irrelevant, i can also do what the guy did, I don’t understand why people don’t mind their business in Nigeria.
DeleteGood he has said his own side. No one is at fault here.
ReplyDeleteFault finders and youth don't have respect how market ooo. Read how majority wants to kill the boy for demanding his right.
If our youth can be bold with these useless politicians will they ever start stealing pants for ogwu?
Thank God history is back in our curriculum.
ReplyDeleteNot just political history, all round history.
The Achebe's ,Soyinka's, the Hogan Bassey's, Peter Konyegwachies, Nelly Uchendus, Rex Lawson's, Orlando Hollywood, Herbert Ogundes,
The Chioma Ajunwas, Kanu Nwankwos etc. One young LAD asked we why we speak so highly about KANU, I was shocked. Didn't he know?
The most refreshing news I heard last week was that History was back in the curricula in Nigerian schools. As for the young man, I said yesterday that it was the sympathiser who was crying more than the bereaved. The two people involved knew their rights and limits. If only Mr. Tonye Cole helped us to post more about the ethnic cleansing/genocide going on in some parts of the country as he did this "window seat" matter.
DeleteAbeg o, they should help us inform him that don't want men in our Amebo whatsapp group except for journalists. Eh-hen.
I love you Tosin.. ❤️💟💜💙💪
ReplyDeleteAlso I know that the university you mentioned does not exist neither are you a teache and that you do not have any PHD in the aforementioned course. Your ability to create the narrative above is an indication that you have more than PHD in you.
DeleteHe lied about not knowing prof..boy that studied in Unilag first before travelling abroad to further his studies. Liar!
ReplyDeleteEven if he knows wole Soyinka, that’s his seat for goodness sake!! Reason y Africa is backward .. in saner climate, this won’t be an issue cos they know there is a reason seats are allocated to people.. abeg I tiya for black peoples and entitlement
DeleteDaddy Freeze posted something concerning the guys action & I kinda agree with him. That was his right & he stood up for it, plus his health issue.
ReplyDeleteIt's a prank,he's not the one. Check his page on Instagram for correspondence. Funny though..lol
ReplyDeleteBut baba too did not maintain his lane. Didn’t he look at his ticket to know his sit number. He would have requested for window right from where he purchased his ticket. Shikenan.👎👎👎
ReplyDeleteStella, this is not the guy. This person works for Mo Abudu and trying to cover up for her. What university is Mannitawiw?
ReplyDeleteBut baba too did not maintain his lane. Didn’t he look at his ticket to know his sit number. He would have requested for window right from where he purchased his ticket. Shikenan.👎👎👎
ReplyDeletedear tosin odunfa. I am highly disappointed in you. welldone you are now popular first, you embarrassed him by asking him to getup from your sit then you claim proff confided in you yet you betrayed him by exposing what was told you in confidence.now here you are selling of so much pride, no matter where you teach what you teach and what you have achieved pride is not your mate sir. one would expect that your first word would be " i am sorry gir whatever embarrassment I cursed you Sure then go on to explain yourself. sometimes silence is golden but of course not everyone can afford a gold.
ReplyDeleteShut up fool, that’s his seat !! Whether prof say there or not, even prof knows this! Pls I am done with black propel and respect nonsense
Deletewhat the F are you saying? You don chop this morning ??? Someone mentioning their profession and being an academia is now pride. Where is even the embarrassment in asking for your rightful seat. Nigerian mentality has failed many of us.
DeleteGod!!! Why are you people escalating this matter unnecessarily for christ's sake. The prof was damn wrong to have sat on the seat not assigned to him in the very first place, with all his education fa. Haba!!
DeleteHe should have respected himself first by sitting in his own seat and allow the guy to come in, plead with him, left for him to agree or not..
Big mannism is the problem with this country. When I read Tonye Cole's yesterday and how he degraded the young man and made him look petty and cheap and disrespectful, the typical naija policeman mentality. You have muscles and Tattoo then you're not responsible. Dude is a PhD holder and teaches Nano electromagnetic. I wonder what Tonye Cole would say now when he reads this. See all the celebrities shouting the young man was disrespectful simply becausehe was asking for what is he and for a good reason. Autism. No wonder Amaechi wanted to use him to cause problems in rivers state.
ReplyDeleteThis is a big lesson..we should not be too quick to judge without hearing the other side.
ReplyDeleteIts not him.
ReplyDeleteTo himself, he's trying to offer plausible explanations for the Bobo.
But to me, he's just cashing in on controversy and growing his social media followership
This is the host of Ebony TVs VVIP events.
There is a new twist in this story. The said person is an imposter.
ReplyDeleteCan you just imagine. Nigerians are mad ppl.
DeleteLol @bed and roses, have you not heard, have you not seen them... Many are mad but few are roaming 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteWhether it's the man or wedan't, the bottom line is that Mr. Cole was trying to stir up unnecessary drama and controversy.
ReplyDeleteSic
ReplyDeleteIn as much as we value respect and regards for elderly ones,,but circumstances at times might not allow u to display that..
ReplyDeleteFlight or call it Air transportation, is not just like our normal BRT where i can leave my sit for an old man or allow an old woman to occupy my space.
This has a ticket number and i dont think trying yo make issue from the above is reasonable
It is not the guy. This is satire. But when this story broke, I also imagined that the young man too could have a need for that particular seat, just like Prof.
ReplyDeleteThis is the reason why people might not just do things to please the next person.
The culture of bullying women into sitting inside so a man will sit close to the door needs to stop too. The yourh can’t relinquish their seats on a flight because they were age-shamed.
Personally, Will I switch seats with Prof? Absolutely!!
Note, This is because I am not particular about aisle or window seats for now. I would have been so in awe that I would rush to switch seats with WS(This is my reality, don’t judge😁)
Should one that painstakingly selected a certain seat be made to stand? No, it is not village meeting. Money was paid, you for kuku suggest that the youth that paid for business class be made to swap their seats too.
If the young man was a woman, Nigerians wouldn’t be understanding at all in fact they’d question the source of her income.
DeleteWill I leave my seat for WS? Yes, if he asks nicely without a spokesperson else he would have to gbe his body. WS doesn’t even look like he was offended and I’m sure the young man wasn’t rude about it at all but only notified WS of his error, I mean it happens a lot because most people tend to mix the alphanumeric arrangements.
Uncle Tonye just cried more than the bereaved and this Tosin person is a fraud for writing on behalf of someone else in the name of satire or whatever.
This isn't the guy that it happened to. He claimed he was creating another scenario of what may have transpired.
ReplyDeleteMe thinks he just wanted to use the topic to trend and increase his followers
Hes mad.

ReplyDeleteTonye Cole, Mo Abudu and Henshaw when never train their own children to respect their domestic staff first, na them dey come form voltron on behalf of Wole Soyinka? All these Nigerian 'rich' who are so disrespectful of the common man are now claiming 'respect for elders'when they don't even regard those working for them. I didn't even know Tonye stops to take selfies, how much more if he can take selfie with an ordinary man or any of his domestic staff so they can at least show their family and community they have the privilege of serving 'big men.' The young man has every right for his action. Tonye, Mo and Kate should just shut up and set their own children straight first before coming to bash a hard working young man who paid for a particular seat and has the right to it. Why didn't Tonye allow Soyinka take his own seat afterall or ask another person seated by the window to please vacant on his behalf so Soyinka can be comfortable? That would have set a very good example for the young man and others seated on that plane. And maybe, someone else on the flight would have reported it on Tonye's behalf so he can look saintly. Or is it because Soyinka is a global icon?
Anon u said my mind. Watch how they treat their elderly staff and u will shake ur head. Cos it’s Soyinka now we won’t hear word.
DeleteNigeria govt. is the loser here for removing history from the curriculum in the first instance and 2ndly Tonye for not minding his business and seeking cheap popularity. Then those celeb that jumps to erroneous conclusion.
ReplyDeleteLol...brother that university does not exist ooooo!
ReplyDeleteSomeone's right just got trampled upon cos of age difference which shouldn't be an issue cos d seat was picked & paid for. There's a huge difference between right and respect. "I" would have left my seat for any elder (whether famous or not).
ReplyDeleteNone of us was there and Mr Tonye who reported the incident may not have been objective(I'm sure he wasnt sef judging from the way he described the young man) so I think we don't know what series of situations led the young man to maintain he wants his window seat.
In my opinion Prof should have taken his appropriate seat, allow the young man come, then accost him for a switch.
Oh yes he was judging. Why mention his muscles and tattoos?? So people with those are bad and do not give up seats for the elderly?? His type will say that any boy with dreds is a yahoo boy. My respect for Tonye Cole dropped big time. And to think I was rooting for him as governor.
DeleteMy main concern here is what transpired btw Prof & d guy. Do we realize that it might have taken this guy wks to book in advance for d flight & preferred seat, only to get onboard & ‘President Trump’ was sitting on his seat ? Learnt he was not rude to Prof & he left d seat honorably, Booz Prof knew that was d right thing to do, so why are people trying to outdo themselves on this matter?
ReplyDeleteChinwe Achebe kwua?
ReplyDeleteNa me talk am.
Tonye Cole God saved rivers state from u. So this is how u would have just been coming to conclusions about things?? Then when old men chop money u will leave them cos of age?? Na God save us. Imand I used to respect u b4.
ReplyDeleteIt’s the guys right bc he paid for the seat. However, if an elderly person wanted to swap something with me and it was not too much of an inconvinience. (In this case a window seat on a flight), I would do it. I have elderly parents and I would hope people will make an effort for them whenever they need help and so I make the effort for others in return.
