Okorocha had raised the alarm that armed robbers invaded his house in Ogboko, Ideato South local government area and catered away property worth millions of naira.
The police said that they have swung into action and made a breakthrough in respect of the incident. The Imo State police commissioner of police, Mr. Rabiu Ladodo, gave the hint during a chat with newsmen in Owerri, the state capital. Ladodo said that the command had made tremendous progress on the alleged robbery as three in-house workers were being questioned to unravel their involvement in the incident.
He explained that preliminary investigation by the command indicated that “it was an internal sabotage.” The police boss said that one of the governor’s cooks had been arrested, adding that the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage obtained by security operatives indicated that the act, which led to the invasion of Okorocha’s bedroom, was masterminded by domestic staff.
“We have arrested three domestic staff of the immediate past governor; preliminary investigation carried out by the police showed that the invasion was carried out by those who were working there. “We have obtained the CCTV footage in the house and that has helped our investigation. The footage showed that the invasion was purely an internal sabotage; we have arrested three domestic staff. We also arrested the cook. “I want to assure Imo people that we are on top of the situation and we are doing everything possible to ensure that nothing is left undone in ensuring that all the culprits are brought to book,” he said.from leadershipng
