Labour Room Drama 259

Imagine ripping the clothes of the nurse when you are in pains.....

Hi Stella,

I don't know if there are any guidelines for sending in labour room drama stories...i just decided to send mine,so please forgive me if i cut corners to do this....

8 years after having my first child,i took in and had my second baby,my husband and i were so thankful that God answered our prayers and gave us another child...we were too thankful to even ask for another baby and so we agreed that if it happens fine,if it doesn't happen no wahala.

Two years after having my second child, i discovered i was pregnant again and needless to say that we were over the moon(myself and my husband)..

The pregnancy journey was smooth, except for the challenge of eating..i never have appetite for food in pregnancy...all the time i went for scan,my Edd was June 8th and so i was busy preparing for that date or a later date...but to my greatest surprise,my babe decided she was going to come much earlier than the expected date...and so two weeks to my Edd,i started contracting, the contractions were off and on so i went about my business for the day like any other day..although the thing dey hook me when e come(lol)...

Since this was my third pregnancy,i decided i would not rush to the hospital,i waited until my plug fell off and i saw the mix of blood and mucus(this was happening around 2 am) i called my obstetrician and he asked me to come as soon as possible. We got to the hospital around 7.30am and the contractions continued..in fact,i told my doctor i was not going home without my baby o!

Nothing is as disappointing as having high hopes then being told that the baby is not ready to come...around 9 am,i was moved to the labour room, the plan was that my husband would be with me in the labour room, but he had to wait for my sister to arrive and stay with our son,so he stood just outside the door waiting...

My sisters na so the pain come dey increase o as i was dilating..hey! I felt nauseous at some point so the nurse gave me a metal pan to vomit into...but the vomit did not come..i started using the pan to hit anything in sight..the pain was driving me nuts!!! When the nurses came to Chev how far I'd gone,i grabbed her and ripped her top into two...that woman was just too pleasant...she forgave me and kept telling me sorry that it will soon be over..but i kept yelling bring knife oooo and come and remove this baby!!! My OB was like okay o..let me go and get a machete...

I was so happy to hear that because at that point,i just wanted to get this over and done with(lol)...

He came back after about an hour and by then i was already feeling so much pressure to push..i just screamed "i want to push ooo" as i was screaming i felt myself pooing and pushing at the same time...as the baby's head was coming out,i kicked the matron that was assisting me to bring the baby out and she flew across the room...the pain was out of this country...

I was calling on all the saints to come to my aid.....my poor husband was just outside the door looking confused but as calm as ever...i was even telling the matron to make sure i don't have any tear o....because that tear is the definition of pain and not even labour itself....i really thank God for giving me such wonderful nurses plus my God sent doctor...eventually,i had my baby without a tear and went home the next day...

I wish all pregnant women a safe and smooth delivery! This is my own labour room experience!!

*na wah oh...really nice nurses...thank God for God!!!
