That burial is called "ogun aiku" or "oyeku". Probably someone had seen a vision that she will die, they will then do some native somethings and ask her to either pronounce herself dead, start a rumour she's dead or do her own burial while alive, to prolong her days. Yorubas will be familiar with this, not new.
