I kinda like being toasted even as a married woman cos It just kinda makes me feel like i am still relevant....
Not just being toasted by any body o, not those Yahoo boys looking for destiny, or those lazy ones looking for sugar mummy.
I mean when one correct single ( though it's hard to see men my age that are still single), divorced or widower starts making advances towards me I get excited. Most times when I get home I check out myself in the mirror. Sometimes I even tell hubby about it too.
But it's something I don't discuss with friends before them go say I spoil. A few weeks back was my friend's birthday and I celebrated her by putting her pictures on my WhatsApp status. A friend of mine that is a widower sent me a dm after he saw her photo and if she was single because he liked what he saw.
What side of the fence are you on?

She isn't single and i and told him so.
While gisting on the phone with my friend, I told her about how my guy friend that liked her picture and how he was bothering me to connect them. Come and see her screaming and rejoicing, she was so excited to hear that someone admired her photo....
FRIEND: "ehn really? You know what cut this call, cut this call. Call me back in 5 minutes, then I will be with my hubby, I will put it on speaker and we will pretend like we've never had this conversation and you will start talking about what your friend said.
He needs to know that I still have second hand value, because the shakara is getting too much. Let him know I am still in the market.
Please I will stylishly flash you and you will call me back ok?
IYA BEJI: No be me and you.
So truly she cut the call and after a while started flashing me. But I didn't pick or call back, no be me husband and wife will use to do reggae. But I learnt something that day, I wasn't alone in this, there are married women out there that like being toasted.
Truly if I hadn't had this conversation with my friend I wouldn't have written about this for the fear of being bashed.

This is different strokes for different folks...some like being toasted just for the fun of it and some feel offended when approached by the opposite gender if they married...Like they say,one mans meat is another mans poison!
What side of the fence are you on?
I'm soooo on your side Iya Beji and ofcoz not just by any Tom, Dick and Jerry... It's just fun..I get excited hey.
ReplyDeletewe enjoy it alot, even the one that followed me with his car, I dint even know I was being followed until I got into traffic.
DeleteI have had some not care I was married. the thing is sweet especially when it happened at a wedding in his presence.
I love it oh. One young banker, that is 6 years my junior was on my case, we met at a party and became chat mate. My conscience didn't allow me continue with the relationship, cos he didn't even kind that I was married
DeleteI remember when I was still single,we(my married sis and I) went jogging, that was how one guy was disturbing her. She no let her husband hear word after then
DeleteStella where is my first comment?
DeleteDo you really need to be toasted by other men for you to know you are still beautiful, attractive and sexy?
ReplyDeleteSome women lose themselves while married and think so low of themselves.
You are beautiful irrespective of what hubby or other people say.
How you carry yourself is what matters.
Bla bla bla we know all that and you know you sef you're just pretending. Abeg, nobody knows u here, you might as well say the truth
DeleteAuntie I am single my self-esteem is top notch can be misread as pride, but if I go a day without at least two guys toasting me, whenever I go out? Men I start praying against any mask on my face by village people
DeleteSo true to some persons as you stated. Most married women are well dressed and neat, I guess that could be a reason also. They also comport themselves nicely at public places.
ReplyDeleteI feel cool sha when,********** you know na 😂
ReplyDeleteI dont need “mens” validation to know i still have value. Thats a bit shallow ....
ReplyDeleteWell I do. I love it!! Been married 16 years and it makes me feel good.
DeleteYes o. Makes me feel real cool 😎👸😜
DeleteI don't like been toasted by other men abeg, I get all the necessary admiration from my doc hubby and that's cool enough for me. Even without the admiration, I have a mirror and I know I am pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt’s like you will frame this your hubby’s occupation and carry it on your head.. nwunye doc
Delete#teasing you
Lmao. I mean..
DeleteNwanyi ocha, lemme give you the contract NNE to do the framing.
DeleteI just hope this doc hubby ain't slinging the D for some available sisters in the hospital...lol...call room is the slaughter slab for some of them
DeleteSmall thing wey your babe say make you help am, you no fit. Na wa o.

Any Naija sisi reading this should say the truth and shame the Pharisees.

🐤🐤🐤😜😜😜😜
Thot it’s only me. I loooove it. Boosts my self esteem. My Hubby’s shakara is too much.
ReplyDeleteWomen either married or single are wired that way. Even the most beautiful and well established women like being admired. My little daughter of 3 will be blushing when you complement her looks sef
ReplyDeleteI don't fancy it, I have been married for years and I do not like it. I don't need validation from men
ReplyDeleteI can't really say I like it though I don't mind.
ReplyDeleteI have had my fair share of being 'toasted' especially when I'm not with my baby but I politely decline.
I remember being toasted in 2 different occasions in the presence of one of my friends. After the second encounter, she was like Mhiz A you have to be carrying your baby always, I was like why nah? So if my mum s around, I will still carry baby? She said yes oo, that imagine guys left her that is single to be toasting me a married woman...ikwakwakwakwakwa. She has been calling me mama Amaka since then, no more my name.
That your friend needs to mind her biz, which one be mama Amaka ?😁
DeleteIt's good to know me and my friends are not alone in this matter.
ReplyDeleteYes I have a mirror and not need validation from me. But it sure feels good.
I get you jareee...
DeleteIt sure feels good
DeleteToo good sef.....
DeleteIt's a good feeling. You have this feeling that you her still hot no matter what. I was at a cousin's wedding and unfortunately I left home hurriedly without my ring. See toasting, I was just laughing.
DeleteKontinu...from feeling the excitement of been chased to regular texting to flirting to lunch date to dinner date to the ultimate goal that man is aiming at....and in your mind you think your hubby at home is not observing things
ReplyDeleteE no go reach that level. Just the thought or knowing that guyz still dey fancy you is enough....nobody go date nobody okkkkkkk
DeleteOJ relax joor, life is not too hard
DeleteMy mum used to be so thrilled by this. Mind you, she was obese but big men used to ask her out. She will excitedly rush home and tell my dad. One incident that happened before she died, a man asked her out. My dad wasn't in town, and when any of my parents are away from home. They talk at least twice a day on the phone. So that night after they had talked and gisted then hung up the call. She excitedly called him back "darling I forgot to tell you, while I was at the filling station, a man came out of the car and walked up to me that he likes me alot, I told him I'm a grandma and he said he doesn't mind" they both laughed over it. Love like theirs! I miss them. Unfortunately, dad couldn't function after she died so he died a few years later. They were using the same sponge and he refused to change the sponge for like 5 years after her death before he eventually died.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww May their soul rest in peace
DeleteEyaàhhh...I can imagine, be strong girl
Delete💔💔💔😓😭 May their sweet souls continue to rest in peace.
DeleteEayah. Am sure you are crying while typing this. May God Almighty heal your heart, gives you heavenly comfort Amen.
DeleteThis made me so teary. May their souls rest in peace. And may your own life be filled with so much love that will make theirs pale in comparison. God bless you.
DeleteMay their souls rest in peace. Women who say their husbands complain about their this and that, come and see what a real man should be. You mentioned your mom was obese and her husband loved her like that. These days boys will be claiming men.
DeleteThat right there is real love. Nowadays we men scratch that boys in men’s bodies don’t love like that. Deep stuff.
Delete...one time my aunt got back home, she was pregnant and one guy was chasing her....I'm like why are u crying? She said, imagine this fool..with my big tummy he is still asking me out...hahahahahaha I laughter taya
ReplyDeleteCareful if you have a jealous husband it might back fire, advise for those who are excited of been admired by other men
ReplyDeleteWe know the kind husband dey we marry before we dey tell them
DeleteMy husband is so stingy with compliments even though I dont look bad at all for a mum of two.I feel super happy when other men admire me and I dont waste time in telling him.I know I'm okay, but it feel nice knowing that I'm still hot enough for other men to even spare me a glance.Childbirth has a way of making a woman lose a bit of her self confidence.Weight, stretch marks, tummy etc..so if one manages to package well after having a baby/babies and then some man out there admires her,it sure feels good.Especially if the husband doesnt think she is all that.
ReplyDeleteTrust me he knows u are beautiful..... that’s why he married you. Probably doesn’t want it to get to your head or just not good with compliments.
DeleteI don't know. I don't feel like it gives me a high..probably because I married quite early and divorced still in my 20s and I don't even look my age.
ReplyDeleteMaybe i will bookmark this thread and revisit it 20yrs later to understand better.
It sure feels good to be toasted even when they know u are married. I tell hubby when men ask me out but I don't tell him about all of them. He's forming fine boy and hardly compliment + not emotional. So yes I have side boo at a far distance who sparks the light and he is single. If not for distance I am sure ........
ReplyDeleteWhen am not wearing my wedding band. I feel flattered then move on.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if you clearly see it and still approach me, I honestly feel disgusted and disrespected. At that point;your admiration, lust or whatever you call it,isn't appreciated any longer.
Na from clap dance they enter oh. So how do y'all married women who like being toasted guard against falling? Cos anyhow you will always meet someone that beats your husband hands-down. I usually prefer not to smell what I'd never eat. I'm a married guy by the way
