Ex-Gov Chime’s Estranged Wife Clara Seeks Custody Of 10-Year-old Son

Clara, the estranged wife of a former Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, on Thursday, asked the FCT High Court, Apo, to grant her custody of their 10-year-old son.......

Clara said this in her response at the hearing of the petition filed by Mr Chime, seeking the dissolution of their marriage of 11 years.

She said she is ready for the divorce and asked that the court grant her custody of their son as well as a child monthly maintenance fee of N500,000 monthly.

Clara told the court that her son was not properly cared for and she was only allowed to see him five hours a month under heavy security.

She also informed the court that she was depressed during her marriage because her husband only had marital relations with her only on their wedding night and never touched her again.

She further denied any allegation of schizophrenia but said she only saw the CMD of a neural psychiatric facility because her husband brought him home.

The case was adjourned till June 10 for the continuation of hearing.

In November 2014, Mr Chime denied imprisoning his wife, following a petition in which she made the allegation.
He said she had “some medical challenges, and it would be very unkind of me to talk about her condition on the pages of newspapers. We’ve been battling her health challenges prior to my inauguration in 2011. It was so bad at a time that she had to be taken out of the Governor’s Lodge for treatment.”
He accused “some people” of exploiting his wife’s situation “to drag him into a needless war of words.”

    1. Huh? Men are wicked and you’re saying it’s occultism. All the abusive husbands everywhere are cultists abi? In fact we can argue it’s the church they’re going to that’s making them so wicked when everyday sermon “your wife is your inferior woman honour your husband die for your husband your husband is your crown cook for him whenever he comes back blah blah”

I’m happy she has come out of the woodworks to fight for her son. He has old children getting married yet he wants to control this one just to spite the mum. I’m sure he doesn’t even see the boy.
You go out to eat they call you prostitute. You get married the man maltreats you and puts you in prison. Na wa for Nigeria

  6. Torture in the name of marriage. I pity women that consult witch doctors for powers not knowing that their husband is a Chief priest. You will end up loosing everything including yourself. You can't jazz a jazzman with jazz. Only power from above can work on such person.

  8. Typical naija girl, played crooked twisted game with an older man. Ending up in a whole mess of torment for her!!!
These rich, powerful men r all into darkness of cults. Look at the outcomes of girls or women they had intimate relationship or have married before, u will see bizarre things like cruelty, callous behaviors, crafty deadly life threatening manipulations. Then how any dignified girl & self respectful woman be blinded by greed, desperate enough to go & marry such man???😡
Nigerian girls or women r partly to blame for their desperate way of life, greed & lust for tapping into someone's ready made wealth & money whether legit or not!!!

Did you say everybody? Nah. That's a huge assumption. Not everyone is attracted to jazz. Some of us are attracted to the Lord Jesus and the power that raised Him from the dead. And we die there...

  10. I can't imagine someone taking my son from me, I'd just kill somebody! Depression in marriage is real and mostly caused by severe emotional abuse. Better to plan & walk away than live miserably.

  13. Marring a man that couldn't stay with his first wife whom he has kids with sometimes doesn't work, I am writing this out of experience, I got married to a man as a second wife after he separated from his fist wife for more than 15 year, what I saw, I don't wish an enemy. He tortured me verbally, physically and emotionally, I was not allowed to relate with my siblings, he didnt want to see or hear about my child, meanwhile I told him I have a child bf the marriage and he said no problem that she also is his child, it was after the marriage that the beast in him came out. 6 months into the marriage he beat me up like a common thief, from there beating continued, a year later I got a federal job that took me to another city, one day I visited without informing him, lo and behold oga had another woman in his house, I greeted the new madam and asked who she is she told me her name is Gloria, and I asked who she is to oga, and she said oga should tell me, I then told her that I am the wife she was shocked and thought I would fight her, for where who get strength for fight, I told her to relax. Meanwhile oga didn't let me stay oh, that I should go back to where I was coming from, after I traveled for 10 whole hours, l pleaded to pass the night no way, I left the house that night, stayed in an hotel and went back to my base the following day.

  14. Greed and quest for power got her there. Much more, she didn't know her dibia is a learner compared to her horseband. Chime has always done women wrong...his fiancee caught him in a compromising situation with his 'ex' and walked, he nearly...her.If yo know Chime, nobody go tell you. All these useless Nigerian girls running after money and men in power, if they open their eyes to see, their legs go touch their skull in one second. Even the ones who remain are 'here and there' to save themselves and children from wetin they ignorantly entered into. Blame them, no, I'll blame society for the pressure mounted on women to be and remain 'married' at all cost. She still dey wait for N500k/month, make she thank God say na just 'mental' she run.
