He said: “Let me use this opportunity to emphasize that we have no issues with any member of this very important sector of the country.
“I have said it in the past and I will also like to restate, that the EFCC does not go after any innocent person. Our mandate is to rid Nigeria of any form of economic and financial crimes, and internet fraud is not excluded.
“There is always intelligence report that our officers get and investigate before effecting a warrant of arrest, and we don’t arrest innocent people”.
He noted that the concern for the increasing cases of internet fraud, prompted him early in the year, to constitute a Task Team given the task to stem the tide of internet fraud in the country.
“This Task Team has since swung into action, and the outcome of what you have is the increasing cases and report of EFCC operatives rounding up internet fraudsters across the country,” he added.
He, however, noted with concern that “I don’t like arresting them, but what can we do, we have to do our job.
“While I restate our commitment to continue the intensity of rounding up internet fraudsters, I strongly urge you all to join hands with the EFCC to promote the culture and gospel of hard work with dignity”.
from dailypost.....
We been knew!
ReplyDeleteIf he is guilty of the charges, then he should go in for it. What I frown at is the way publicity is been given to this case as if there is more to it. How many of the yahoo boys caught have been treated and paraded this way? Or is it cos he is a musician?
ReplyDeleteObviously there’s more to it and they are not letting it out.
DeleteThe people giving it this publicity are his fan base who support his yahoo dealings. EFCC has a lot of high profile cases but the people involved are not as daft as this guy and his fans.
DeleteHe was arrested and charged to court shikina, has any other thing been done? nope but his fan base is carrying it on their head like gala as if it will change anything. They know once they start coming for musicians, their own don cast because most of them use it to supplement their earnings.
Ralu M, I think you have a good point here. People should just allow EFCC do their job and the young man to defend himself with his lawyers or lawyer. If he is innocent, then I believe he will be freed but if the charges indicting him becomes too weighty and glaring, then there is nothing anyone can do to subvert justice.
DeleteLike I will always say, there is no moral justification for crime or whatsoever.
Enter your reply...if they want to fight against financial crime of any kind let them first start from the senators, reps, presidency and all other Government workers who are corrupt in Nigeria and not ordinary people who are in the street
Deletelook to me I don't think there's anything more to it, it is only natural that a celebrity whom is well known for what he does like musician or actor comited a crime or claimed to have comited a crime, there's no way you will be able to control the publicity that would come along, it was about two weeks ago that the efcc arrested about twenty yahoo suspects or thereabout, who know them BT hey this is a celebrity we are talking about, someone that sopose to be a role model for the younger generation, so it's only natural to get as much publicity as it gets.
DeleteIt is obvious you are one of his kind.
DeleteThey say you should not judge a book by its cover, but this guy has an evil energy emanating from him.
ReplyDelete#freenairamarley
ReplyDeleteLol..... On sdk blog? #joker
DeleteYou have to do your job
ReplyDeleteLike they are even better.
What happened to our “ great” politicians who have stolen more than enough?
So naira marley is your problem?
Corrupt idiots.
Let the cleansing start with the EFCC.
Iyawo yahoo yahoo....... Go to efcc office and fight.
DeleteCyber crime is no justification for bad govt. What is bad is bad, I am in support of efcc 100%.
Delete17.pl08 LOUD IT please
DeleteSluttychic forever defending yahoo, say amen to you becoming a victim one day.
Pls tell Nigerians o. I wonder why they are being over sentimental on this issue. He is being prosecuted for fraud and not cause he is a musician. Everyone just comes out to scream "Free Marley" just cause they think he is a musician, has talents and fans and hence should be freed. Is a musician above the law in this country! Nigerian youths have a problem! A very big one!
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with him being questioned but why would efcc turn blind eyes to gandudollars or that grass cutter guy?
Deletethe former nnpc boss, Andrew yakubu is busy moving upandan despite the huge cash recovered from him. all these people have not been charged to court.
politicians should also be made to go through this process irrespective if them being opposition members or not.
To a reasonable extent, I think the youth are the problems of this country. We complain about the old recycled politicians for being incompetent yet we can't team up to take back the country from them. Are those old politicians more than the youth in population wise? Or in fitness? Now, you see the reason an old man can confidently say that the Nigerian youths are lazy.
DeleteLast time I talked about how a 22 years old girl led a protest in Sudan that got rid of the President and today he is being dragged before the court for crimes committed. How many of our youths can do that? Is it the one Tuface was threatened and he gave up the protest he called for? Or Area father and his scam?.
I bet you, if things were better in this country and the youths actively in governance, most of this crimes you see today been committed will be minimal and not this bad as it is. We are still very far from redemption if ever at all there is hope of redemption.
Enter your reply...if the youth gats big problem then the old fools the so called political leaders and some government workers which I think you are one has a bigger problem
DeleteI just want people to tell me what do they use all does money being recovered for ? .... because I don't see what they are all doing
DeleteI think he has been arrested for the song he just sang recently please officers tamper justice with mercy
ReplyDeleteSee ole chasing barawo
ReplyDeleteAm I a Yahoo boi, choose your lyrics and don't send wrong signals, that yahooze music and maga don pay escaped does not mean that you will. Acting Oga has to justify his appointment and since politicians are untouchable, next are the masses, if you know you know
ReplyDeleteThere are Yahoo bvs ๐๐
DeleteFellow yahoo thief, your turn is coming

ReplyDeletedo you guys believe there are many Nigeria's in this situation . it's as the efcc addressed them and granted bail before?????
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment...in Nigeria here the consequences of a bad song,is (band). not getting singer arrested plz let Marley go..
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment...pls leave him if he is a yahoo Boi in some century back foreign land as also fraud us too they put us into slavery to work for them and developed their country and now we fraud them it is 50\50 no cheating leave him do you many things white men has collected from our forefathers this is our turn spare him and am sure your own son will be a yahoo boy doing it secretly
ReplyDeleteWell...... I'm speechless right now
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment...All the Efcc are mumu is the only musician that sing this type of song, you leave some better work that can help Nigerians you are running after yahoo boys, I new all of you are going to perish one day, you think you can be slaving us and also treating us like animals, I pray that the Almighty God will also turn is back to you and strike you and your family down.....Amen
ReplyDeleteIf he's guilty he should be made to face the law, enough of the what of the politicans talk! We need to do better. There's also a story circulating online that he was wanted in one country like that as far back 2014 for some crime related activities so it's not today it started if true.
ReplyDeleteWe know now
ReplyDeleteAm not saying this bcoz of he's a musician, but the fact is whether internet fraudster or not, there's no work in this country I mean real work not work of 20,25,30,40,45k,what's the meaning of that they should free him and look for all this politicians embezzling our money day by day and arrest, How can smone after 5-6yrs of schooling u will be getting job of 30k-if u need a better job they will be asking for bribe, tell me what can a job of 30k solve in this country for a family man.to me i dont see the need of going to schoolin this country, do u know how many nysc corpers that are passing out every single year?,thousands upon thousands,FG should Created work I mean real work of better salary through oil companies n others, and let me see how crime wount reduce, all this men growing gray hairs in office they shud go and rest and give space for young Nigerians.
ReplyDeleteHe did wrong-yes; but I believe what pains Nigerians is the fact that only the lowly are ever affected by the "LAW', we have tens of thousands of law makers who blatantly embezzle funds, contractors who deliver obviously sub standard projects. Heads of service who monies go missing under their watch and nothing happens to them. Billions of USD missing with no one to hold accountable. Instead same "criminals" will VOW to sue the government and some even win the cases and get MORE monies in compensation. It is just anger towards the whole system in itself that obviously is built to only come into play when you are not a person of authority. Same goes for police-but that is a story for another post
ReplyDeleteEvery nation gets the government it deserves - Joseph de Maistre.
ReplyDeleteYou think our current crop of politicians are bad, wait till those yahoo boys and their supporters take over the reins of power. Lol.
I need to get the f**k outta this shithole. There's no hope.
True talk!
DeleteLegalize cyber crimes let make some money from those foolish nonsense Whites who took away everything that our Ancestors supposed to leave for us....They deserved to be dubbed....We must wise...Even till date, they still maltreating us legally and illegally....Or should we leave them and alone and continue using the so-called Ministers and Head for Money Rituals??
ReplyDeleteIt's about time that the Youth must wake up and put a stop to all this nonsense..
Your comment is so disgraceful. You mean some people reason like this? Tufiakwa!!!!! Legalize cyber crime, infact you are not okay.
Deletethe country wey don spoil finish. Leave naira let him keep doing his yahoo...
ReplyDeletePeople wey you nah suppose catch you no catch them...
Nigeria is a fucked up country
Fuck NIGERIA!! !
Nice one bro, Nigeria don spoiled already his Naira frud your family? But govts is frustrating us in this stupid Nigeria nobody to arrest them and EFCC come to the street and pick people saying they are doing Yahoo Yahoo. Even white people self are very happy in their state for having Yahoo boys in Nigeria that can use their brain to collect money from them.
DeleteUna baba. You fucking people are talking about Yahoo Yahoo guys sorry are they been scammed your family? I want stupidity fellow to answer my question. Efcc do your job and free this guy he have alot to do in life...
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment...na politicians EFCC dey arrest which be this abeg this na corruption for the highest level
ReplyDeletesomething is in this case let's keep watching
ReplyDeleteEFCC just bcos they couldn't get bribe out of this one so they decided to charge to court. How many politicians dem Don charge to court? Or is Naira Marley the only. musician promoting fraud? Abeg make we wise up... Everything for this country Na scam
ReplyDeleteServes him right๐๐
ReplyDeleteEnough of this charade abeg... Efcc no de see our politicians arrest, na poor Nigerians wey de hustle for survival. Until efcc has the balls to rouse and prosecute corrupt politicians they are nothing but a tool of oppression employed by the govrnment to terrorize the masses.
ReplyDeleteA crime is a crime no matter who is involved. Efcc go after politicians too, it's not like they only go after internet fraudsters aka yahoo boys, when Fela was against the government, he used music to express it and he was not arrested for fraud or illegal activities. One problem with most of todays youths and mostly our young celebs these days is that they think the government is bad and instead of using the right means to fight them they go into all sort of illegal activities and give the so called bad and corrupt leaders the opportunity to come after them. Be wise
