My dear don't blame Regina, you don't know her story. She means she has a heavenly father not the absentee one. I had a neighbour while growing up went to school 2geda. I have seen d man beat the mother out naked at night. I have gone there one morning to call her for school.Met the mother locked out still in the suite she wore day before. Bloodied with torn clothes,she had slept in the compound. She was a banker and even d breadwinner. He was a drunk and irresponsible.The day she left she took every darm thing. All was hers.

My dad is late.. the best dad ever, I miss him everyday and yes I took care of him and I am in tears as I type. We were not millionaires but he provided for us well and was there for us such that I did not see the need to go after rich older men.

If indeed you have a father, if indeed you know your roots, carry them along in your marriage. I believe this is especially relevant to her that has gotten married to an elderly man who would still place premium on all these cultural/traditional customs/rituals and see things from that perspective. Don't make it evident that you have no solid roots because when push comes to shove, you need people to stand behind you as well.

DeleteI've been reading comments of people both in support of Regina or against her reaction. Let me make my own assertions. I see her mum behind this soiled father and daughter relationship. I agree some men are deadbeat fathers which is emotionally traumatic to their children and they always find it difficult to identify with such father ever in life. We can also agree that most women are very terrible mothers too in misleading their children, cutting them off and turning them against their father because of personal grudge against him when they broke up. Children are always more likely to get attached to their mothers hence it makes it easier for a mother to brainwash the children against their father. From the pictures the acclaimed father posted, it showed their was a good relationship between father and daughter at some point before things went haywire. On the father's post, he said Regina's mother is the one deceiving her and he hopes she retraced her steps. In conclusion, I only saw the handiwork of a bad Mother in the whole saga. When it comes to traditional marriage and paying of dowry/bride price of a woman, there is no justification why the father/paternal home should not be involved even if the father is long dead only on exceptional cases whereby the father didn't marry her Mum traditionally or her Paternity is questionable. "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar" and you move on with your life!
