The council’s President-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said this in an interview with journalists in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

Isiguzoro added that Buhari loves the people of South-East despite that the zone is traditionally for the Peoples Democratic Party.
He was reacting to a statement credited to the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, that Buhari was promoting ethnic division in the country.
He said, “President Buhari loves the Igbos more than any other President Nigeria ever had.
In 2003, he picked the late Chuba Okadigbo as his running mate. In 2011, he picked Edwin Ume-Ezeoke under the ANPP as his running mate.
He has shown so much love for the Igbos. Buhari believes in one Nigeria, against what people like Nwodo are saying.
