ABIA State Gov. Ikpeazu Sacks Political Appointees

Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has announced the sack of all his aides and other political appointees.

A press release by the permanent secretary of the Abia government house, Elder Bernard Ogbonna, said the sack was necessary to pave way for the formation of a new team that will work with the governor upon his inauguration for a second term in office.

The statement said those serving in the office of the Deputy Governor and Wife of the Governor were also affected by the order.

However, the governor asked his Commissioners, the Secretary to the State Government, his Personal Secretary, the Deputy Chief of Staff (both Governor and Deputy Governor) and the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to continue to perform their official duties till further notice.

    1. In one of the local government area in Abia, a transition chairman brought his wife too. So the have office of the chairman and office of the chairperson. When i asked why it should be so. I was told that the wife is a local government staff, so when her husband became TC, she quickly moved her office. Opportunity they say comrs but once.
