Seyi Makinde Wins Oyo State Governorship Election

Seyi Makinde, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has emerged winner of the Oyo State gubernatorial election.





Makinde polled 515,621 votes, to defeat Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 357,982 votes.

The results of all the 33 local government areas of the state were announced at the collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ibadan, the state capital. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Returning Officer of the election, went on to declare Makinde as the winner after polling the highest votes.

  2. Omi titun de si ipinle oyo.... many people voted for Seyi not because of their love for him but their hatred for Ajimobi... The governor is a game spoiler for Penkelemes

    4. Yea, same happened in ogun, most people voted for Dapo Abiodun because of their hatred for Amosun....I hope Dapo won’t disappoint the people of Ogun.....Amosun and Ajimobi didn’t try at all.

  8. His family looks nice...I saw a pic of him and his family...his kids are all grown. I'm happy PDP has a state in the West, let it no be single party in a geopolitical zone.

  9. If every state can be like Oyo people,Nigeria will be better. Those people know how to elect their leaders. Ajimobi was the first governor to lead for 2 terms and he messed up with his loud mouth and arrogance. Ibadan people will collect your money and still vote who they want. I'm so happy Ajimobi lost out on all sides, baba Constituted Authority!!
