So the whites oppression on the blacks dated long ago as nature itself. Was there anything wrong with his native names?
ReplyDeleteBut why did he drop his Christian name?
ReplyDeletePride. Not in a bad way but healthy pride.
DeleteLooking good @ 30 Pappi
ReplyDeleteThe picture is of Zik in his college football gear.
ReplyDeleteDelay isn't denial.
ReplyDeleteThat didn't stop his being great.
Exactly what I've been trying to do. Why should I bear an English name? Am I English? I've told people severally to calm me my Igbo name, but they keep calling me that English shit. Non of my kids will bear an English name in the first place.
ReplyDelete13:56 your choice your Buisness. do what you please
DeleteGreat man, little did we know, they started from little beginnings.....inspirational
ReplyDelete......but today's great men wants to happen like a "bang"
ReplyDeleteNo be so o....despise not the days of little beginnings.
Why dropping name in your certificate? Truth need to be told, Zik match line for unnecessarily trying to be smart.
ReplyDeleteI doubt if that was his main reason, cos i don't see anything wrong with "Benjamin"...
ReplyDeleteMayben he forget to Add his English Name..And the Native Name was Difficult for them to Pronounce..
ReplyDeleteThat is how my lecturer kept asking me if I dont have an English name. Even since I left naija, I prefer my native names same with the South Africans
ReplyDelete...and that is why we must keep collecting our dues from them in any form, street it is.
ReplyDeleteHow can you find anything wrong with "Benjamin", when you have two slave names, yourself.
ReplyDeleteAfricans should have Africans names. How many Europeans have Africans names? why are you bothered about if they can pronounce Africans names or not. How many Europeans have changed their names because we can't pronounce them. Be proud of yourself.
