Samuel Ajayi Crowther 1843
 - published Yoruba Vocabulary and began translating the Bible 1857
- Wrote the first book in Igbo language, Isoama-Ibo. 1882 
- wrote the "Vocabulary of the Ibo Language", the first detailed dictionary in Igbo.

    Yoruba history no be today, it’s a good thing there are records in this world to show who did what. A Yoruba man also made the first ever Igbo film amongst other things they did for Igbos from the goodness of their hearts.
