Guber 2019 - Ohanaeze Insists On Ugwuanyi, Ikpeazu And Umahi For 2nd Terms

Ahead of the March 9 governorship and Houses of Assembly elections, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has declared that there was no going back on its endorsement of Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu and David Umahi of Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi respectively.

This was contained in a statement signed by the President-General of the Ohaneze Youth Council, Worldwide, OYC, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro after the group’s meeting on Thursday.

They equally warned security agencies against the intimidation of voters in any part of the country.

According to the group, “Gov Ugwuanyi has done so well to the admiration of the people of Enugu State.

“He has endeared himself to the people, such that Ndi Enugu knows there’s no opposition in the State.

“We are solidly behind him and call on all the voters in the State to reciprocate his gestures by coming out en-mass and voting for him.”

On Ikpeazu of Abia, the OYC said “the Enyimba Economic City in Aba axis of Abia state, a project of Abia State Government, approved by President Buhari as free trade zone will offer a minimum of 700,000 jobs for the youths.

“Igbo youths are encouraged to ensure that Ikpeazu is re elected to ensure this project is completed. We have independently monitored the project, especially with the foreign companies ready to offer good jobs, and Igbos will not miss this opportunity.Abians should make sure Ikpeazu is re elected, especially as there’s grand conspiracy by a candidate to establish cattle colony in Abia.”

Isiguzoro described Gov. David Umahi as ‘God sent’, stressing “irrespective of challenges, in terms of little resources and external influence, he has transformed Abakiliki and other LGAs with projects.

“Igbos believe that with Umahi, Ndigbo will truly get our fair share from the Presidency which enjoys robust relationship with Ebonyi state. We urge our people to ensure he’s re elected.”

  1. If they are truly what they are being painted, then what's the need begging the people to re-elect them to power? A good brand speaks for itself. The people of the states knows better if they deserve another term or not.

  2. Ugwuanyi and Umahhi I understand, but Ikpeazu? Anyway Ohanaeze is a sociocultural group and does not speak for the generality of Ndi Igbo. Vote for who you believe in.

    1. Thank you! This is so absurd! Is like this ohanaeze is corrupt. When they see money, their language changes. They don't care about people's well-being. Is not possible to impose Okezie on us. Okezie knows his "work" can't speak for him.
