Nineteen days after the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as winner of the February 23, presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his party have finally filed petition challenging Buhari’s re-election.
Atiku and his party are challenging Buhari’s reelection on the grounds of alleged massive riggings, malpractices and non compliance substantially with the electoral laws.
In the filed petition this evening, main part of the prayers was for Atiku to be declared winner of the February 23 presidential election.
Also, they prayed alternatively that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) nullify the poll and order for a fresh election that will be conducted in line with the provisions of the electoral laws.
Respondents in the suit are the All Progressives Congress, APC, Buhari and INEC.

*Hmmmm Atiku will not give up easily....Na wah, when Two Elephants fight we all know who suffers!
The battle has begun.
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand why Atiku is this power hungry. The north(who is the decisive factor in any presidential election)voted for Buhari(their reasons best known to them)so Atiku should just forget it and move on.He won’t die if he doesn’t become president.
ReplyDeleteHe is only fighting shame and the money. Las Las he will rest after they settle him.
DeleteThe North Voted for Atiku.. Kano voted for Atiku.
DeletePlease shut your mouth instead of showing us how much of a fool you are
Anon 07:17, do you know the number of times buhari went to court when he lost elections? Atiku is just going for the first time and you call that being power intoxicated? Come on.
DeleteAnn 07:17 na wa fo yu o! So you still believe that shit that the north is the determining factor in Nigeria elections? You most be a learner. Let me tell you what you don’t know. It is true that the north marries a lot of wife compared to the south, but the truth is this. The south is a dove while the north is a chicken. Let me explain. A dove give birth to 2 chicks and they stay alive til adulthood. A chicken has many chicks, but only 1 or none make it to adulthood, they all die of flood, sickness and other factors, they are too many for mother hen to take care of. Go and look at Nigeria health stat. You will see that birth mortality is very high in the north and very very low in the south, how can a shoe maker marry 3 wives where do you expect him to see money to take care of the children? If the north is truly the determining factor , why do we have so much under aged voters and little or none in the south. You don’t see kids voting in the south.its a clear indication that most don’t make it to adulthood just like the hen chicks.
DeleteMr Man, we don't want you, we didn't vote for you, we don't trust you. Is it by force? Ok now, we go meet for court. Your lawyers must chop from the stolen money with you. Bwahahahaha
DeleteThis is the game plan and you all must remember that I said it, this case will linger in the court for 3 years and 8 months and Atiku will reclaim his mandate and rule us for another 8yrs.
ReplyDeleteWhoever thinks that Aboki will just relinquish Nigerian presidency to another tribe just like that is a joker! Only God can remove Aboki man from that seat just like yar’adua!
Good luck Atiku. I wish you the best. I pray you win. We all know you won but your brother no free at all for rigging. So I don't know if it will be possible because of the handpicked tribunals.
ReplyDeleteGood step. I pray the judiciary will not be compromised.
ReplyDeleteAtiku ride on. Go and recover the mandate Nigerians gave to you. @Blessed Princess
ReplyDeleteAbubakar Case History. From 2000 to 2008, Jennifer Douglas, a U.S. citizen and the fourth wife of Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and former candidate for President of Nigeria, helped her husband bring over $40 million in suspect funds into the United States through wire transfers sent by offshore corporations to U.S. bank accounts. In a 2008 civil complaint, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission alleged that Ms. Douglas received over $2 million in bribe payments in 2001 and 2002, from Siemens AG, a major German corporation. While Ms. Douglas denies wrongdoing, Siemens has already pled guilty to U.S. criminal charges and settled civil charges related to bribery and told the Subcommittee that it sent the payments to one of her U.S. accounts. In 2007, Mr. Abubakar was the subject of corruption allegations in Nigeria related to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
ReplyDeleteOf the $40 million in suspect funds, $25 million was wire transferred by offshore corporations into more than 30 U.S. bank accounts opened by Ms. Douglas, primarily by Guernsey Trust Company Nigeria Ltd., LetsGo Ltd. Inc., and Sima Holding Ltd. The U.S. banks maintaining those accounts were, at times, unaware of her PEP status, and they allowed multiple, large offshore wire transfers into her accounts. As each bank began to question the offshore wire transfers, Ms. Douglas indicated that all of the funds came from her husband and professed little familiarity with the offshore corporations actually sending her money. When one bank closed her account due to the offshore wire transfers, her lawyer helped convince other banks to provide a new account.
In addition, two of the offshore corporations wire transferred about $14 million over five years to American University in Washington, D.C., to pay for consulting services related to the development of a Nigerian university founded by Mr. Abubakar. American University accepted the wire transfers without asking about the identity of the offshore corporations or the source of their funds, because under current law, the University had no legal obligation to inquire.
Athiefku's "Ajekun iya" is doing press up.
