DeleteI have a friend whose inlaw refused to go on with traditional marriage except the girls father was present. They had to go and look for the dad.
DeleteIt's not that the man didnt want to be in her life but the Mother never agreed. The mans only sin is wanting a peaceful life after he married a troublesome woman.
On the wedding day she kept eyeing him and using Yoruba abusive songs to mock the man. He kept his cool all through.
This same woman has physically fought her inlaw before, her daughters mum inlaw.
Stella Odua's sons all baer her father's name(their mothers maiden name) which she changed back to after her terrible divorce and her sons never went back to their father bcs of the role he played. All of them are getting married and carrying on their mothers maiden name even the one that died recently dwent to his grave with his monthers maiden name on his obituary.
DeleteKoko of the matter is, a son/child in todays world does not automatically go looking for a parent or fighting to change his name of trivial reason as blood ties. If a man maltreats his wife and children beliving his children will automatically come looking for him in the future he is deceiving himself. Even girl child take their fiancées to pay bride price to their mothers family in cases where they judged their birth fathers as not worth it.
Now, i dont like Tonto but if this boy grows up soaking her energy and beliving her and hating his father, Tonto might achieve her aim of alienating him from his father. But if Churchill holds his own and figures a way to use wisdom to conquer the ganja-smoking-radicalforjesus, this boy will take a stance and choose is father.

ReplyDeleteA boy that looks for a father that didn't contribute to his upbringing, isn't looking for the father for a good reason. If it is true that Tonto is footing all the bills alone when her child's father is alive, Churchill should actually be very worried if his son comes looking for him in the future.
DeleteMen raised by single mothers are usually protective of their mothers to a fault, especially if the mother suffered. They usually don't want to hear their fathers out. It's female children that sometimes want to hear what the father has to say and that's only IF they weren't old enough to know what was happening with their parents. A female child is the one that's more likely to look for the father. The boys don't usually forgive even when they're bearing the father's name.
A couple of years ago or so, Jason Njoku (founder of Iroko TV) wrote about how his father abandoned him and his mother when Jason was (I think) five years old, but wants to see him now he's an adult. That he won't see him. Someone made a comment about how his mother didn't tell him the full story, he should at least hear the father's side. Jason said he knows all he needs to know. Jason lived, worked and schooled abroad for long - so it's likely or possible he and the mother weren't poor like that. The first time the public heard about Jason's father was when he mentioned his father reaching out. Not to talk of this Churchill has more than one child he abandoned and is granting interviews and giving away land. Churchill is finished but he doesn't know it yet.

Not true my dear. My dad abandoned my mom with three kids. My younger brother is the only boy and none of us have looked for him. Our mom went through alot but it's a good thing God blessed us too and everyone is independent now. My brother didn't invite my dad to his wedding and now that he has three kids whom he love so much, he resents my dad even more. It's even harder for him to understand how a man can abandon three children, considering that his kids melt his heart. The point is children see and know who sacrifices for them.Not every child seeks to strengthen the ego of a dead beat sperm donor.

It usually creates enmity between the children and their mothers. Bcos the question they ask is what was so deep in your altercation with my father that you had to make me your child lose my origin. Tonto, I know how u feel bcos I have someone who is going thru this ,but very weak to fight & at the moment I fear for her life. Similar stuff is happening to Mhd Babangida & Atiku's first son ( they're even in court ,but thank God they met their match in the ladies ,in as much as Mhd succeeded in taking away the two younger children with the help of his guards.
