As at Yesterday evening Naira went from 361 to 1 dollar to 184 to 1 dollar!
Euros was N108 and Pounds 290.......
What could have happened? So the increase could have been avoided all these while?
Hmm let us watch and see whether it will return to the high prices after the elections, then my people you will know that the suffering Nigerians are going through is deliberately man made!!!
Big Brother Naija reality star Kemen was at a Bureau de change and posted(and deleted) a video from there talking about the drop in rates and asking Nigerians to vote wisely.....
Haba Stella, you go school to know this cannot and isn’t true. Even google Africa has released a statement about the error on their site. Don’t let this petty politrick take away your standard.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you. It was a bug on Google.
DeleteAnon what’s with all the drama ππ drop your comment and scoot along. Anon dramarians mschewwww π
Delete@the white entrapment abi what do you call yourself? Does your comment not apply to you? Why bring the drama queen here? Please learn to use question mark after any sentence of question.
DeleteNow the plot unfolds. How did Kemen know to do a video? It was supposedly a Google glitch. Everywhere, the lowest was 358 per dollar. It is a scam that researching Nigerians unveiled even before it could take off
ReplyDeleteGoogle Africa in a tweet confirmed its aware of the error saying, 'we’re aware of an issue causing inaccurate conversions for Nigerian Naira currency, so we will remove the conversion onebox from appearing in search results until we are able to diagnose the issue'.
ReplyDeleteThe issue has since been fixed and at the time of this report, according to google one dollar, is now equivalent to 361.75 naira.

Stella
Haven't we be justified that the government is a scam? Stella the official rate of 365 is for the poor masses, there are some cronies and families of Mr President that have been exchanging 184 to a dollar since 2015.
ReplyDeleteYou’re right about the differences in exchange rates for some but yesterday’s issue was a glitch
DeleteTeejay the way you talk so authoratively about things you know nothing about is disgusting.
DeleteNext time learn to use the word "allegedly". This is information you heard. Can you truly confirm the presidents peeps change money at that rate or you heard it.
I hope the way you carry false information you're not sure about doesn't get you in trouble in real life.
Sometimes i shudder at your line of thought. Reading a book or two will help you decipher these things for yourself.
DeleteShior! Google is your friend. Peddling fake news since 1805
DeleteI think you really need to shut up. I really weep for this generation. How do you think????
DeleteTeejay, God go punish you with your lies o. Stop lying all for the sake of sentimental comments. Fear God na. Haba! You have no dignity sand human sense at all.

DeleteI say this I know and not just assumption. This were the words of former CBN governor and the current Emir of Kano.
"As many commended Emir Sanusi for his timely statement on the Nigerian economy, others however, chose to focus on a particular statement he made which many see as "carrying weight" as it suggests something quite interesting.
Sanusi while delivering a lecture on Wednesday at the 15th meetings of the joint planning board and national council on development planning in Kano, titled ‘Nigeria in search of new growth model’, has made some shocking statements which attracted commendations from economic experts, but concern to ordinary Nigerians.
But we have created another set of millionaires since 2015 from foreign exchange.
He accused the Buhari led administration for indirectly following the path of recent administration on issues relating to financial fraud. He puts it as quoted below:
‘’We can always talk of the policies of the previous administration and we talk of oil subsidy and how it turned people into oil millionaires.
But we have created another set of millionaires since 2015 from foreign exchange.
‘‘The people telling the government that if you devalue people will suffer are the ones benefiting presently. They bought the dollar at N179 and price their goods at N300.The poor pay the price of a devalued currency, the rich take the profit.
“You may not like it, but that is the truth. Any system that allows you, with one telephone call, to make N1bn without investing one kobo; the system is wrong,” Sanusi added.
Why the fuck are you people gunning for Teejay, what he's said is #fact. What fucking proof do we need in a country where anything goes....abi are we saying we don't know forex rates are different for students and business men. It takes nothing then to assume the status and move your money.
DeleteIf Sanusi a former CBN governor who is on the know can say this, then why won't you believe me? Do you know the Muslim pilgrim to Mecca often gets their dollars exchange rate different?
Delete@Jackie, if I respond to you I doubt if Stella will enable it. So needless, I will let it slide.
Black market forces at work to maximize sales from those who will be paid in forex. Morever, with Brexit, the pound and euro are not as strong.
ReplyDeletePls how true is that???????
DeleteI don't think its true.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not
DeleteThat is it! Anyhow, we will survive. Me am gonna vote wisely. At the pulling unit already.
ReplyDeleteThis was an error by google. Google has sent out a statement regarding this and the matter is now rectified.
ReplyDeleteof course it is man made, for haj it drops to #190 but for business wo/men it is #390.
ReplyDeleteAnd how much is it for Christian pilgrims? Take away your bigotry from here.
DeleteMa'am Stella it's back to $361 to a naira.
ReplyDeleteShouldn’t it be the other way round? #361 to a dollar
DeleteFulani thanks for the correction.
DeleteDollar was sold for 358 as at COB yesterday.
ReplyDeleteforget the google thingy
If this is true then may Buhari and everything he has go to hell.
ReplyDeleteStella we know that this suffering in Nigeria is a very big deliberate act, is wickedness from the highest level. We already know the truth, no need for them to start new drama. We are voting wisely, the suffering is too much, I have dress up since 6am, we must vote them out.
ReplyDeleteBullion vans in Tinubu house. He is doing bureau de change
ReplyDeleteAPC and lie Mohammed and LIES are synonymous. APC has failed Nigerians, all these they are doing now is damage control but it will not work. It's too late already. Nigerians our mumu don do. Those people shouting 4+4 will you make Buhari an executive chairman in your company? Will you make Buhari chairman in your village meeting? If NO why then will you make Buhari a president of a country as big as Nigeria? LETS DISGRACE THEM WITH OUR VOTES Nigerians please wise up? @Blessed Princess

DeleteDear God ,I take God beg you! May the current president not win this election, even though I know the opposition party is not credible and the young minds that are in a way credible will not be voted for, let the current president don't come in ooo biko, he has fought corruption and we applaud him for that but let someone else come in and fight our economy, thank you God cos I know our prayers π will be answered, Amen.

2pm: INEC warns that fake dollars are in circulation. People should beware.
8pm: Google shows $1 = N184
Tweets from people show foreign transactions being done and debits coming in at N184 to $1. Cl
Aboki.fx shuts down
Yahoo search maintains its $1= N360+ status.
CBN rates maintain $1=N361
Tweets fly everywhere. Some argue it is a bug on google and has happened before.
Kemen releases video
10:30pm - Google reverts back to conversion rate. Proceeds to release statement.
Aboki.fx comes back up
Let us remember that Nigerians use google search more. In fact, I used yahoo search for the first time in ages last night.
Let us also remember that we are always on aboki fx to check conversion rates. Not many people use CBN database.
Let us remember that google has an office in Nigeria, Yahoo doesn't.
This is pure monkey management. They tried to play on our intelligence but we did not fall for it. The dumbos penetrated those they could and felt they could scorr points. When we showed them we weren't having it, they addressed themselves.
My own is, if google nigeria can be penetrated, then its sad.
Chikito I bet you don't know how much I love you here. You hit it on the spot.
