APC Reacts As PDP Rejects 2019 Election Results

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the rejection of the 2019 presidential election results by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The PDP, through its National Chairman, Uche Secondus, rejected the results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja. The main opposition party claimed that the results were inflated in favour of the APC by INEC.

In a statement to DAILY POST on Monday evening by Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Director of Strategic Communication of the APC Campaign Organization, the ruling party said, “We have just read with great consternation the Press Statement of the National Chairman of PDP rejecting the results as being announced presently by INEC in Abuja.

“The simple questions we ask the PDP and Atiku’s Campaign team are as follows:

“How come the PDP is rejecting results that have not been fully and completely announced? How can one reject the result of an uncompleted game? The process of an election does not end until the final collation and announcement of results.

“Is the PDP rejecting the totality of the results nationwide? If yes, does it mean they also reject the results that would be announced later by INEC which may indicate that they have won in certain areas? Are they also rejecting the results already announced that indicate they won in some areas? For instance, are they rejecting the results of the FCT already announced in which they won?

“If indeed they are only rejecting areas where they lost, are they implying that it is only in areas where they won that can be adjudged free and fair and all areas where they lost must be adjudged rigged? Is that the mentality of true democrats?

“In the PDP statement, it is curious that they rejected the results as being announced, yet they claim they are coasting to victory. What kind of logic is that? What kind of confusion is now reigning in the minds of the top hierarchy of the PDP that they can spew such illogicality?

“It is now obvious that the top hierarchy of the PDP is hysterical and nervous. We urge them to calm down. Obviously, this is the first time they are sensing a massive loss of an election as opposition party. It is a new experience for them.

“They are confused and disoriented. For many years, they were used to manipulating the instruments of State to just write results and announce themselves as winners. As such they have a sense of entitlement to these instruments of State that they could not fully manipulate this time because President Muhammadu Buhari insisted on a level plain field for all.

“We advise the PDP that as opposition party for many years, we have been down this road before. This is not the time to sacrifice the country for personal ambition. If they feel they have lost (as their statement clearly indicates), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar must pick up his phone to make that famous call to President Muhammadu Buhari. The world is watching him and so are Nigerians.

“Finally, we urge INEC, Nigerians and our international friends not to be swayed by these infantile antics of the PDP. The process of collation and announcement that is on-going should be done to its logical conclusion after which anyone who is aggrieved should take full advantage of the provisions of the law.”
From dailypost

*Announcing of results should not take more than 24hours.....this is so wrong and I personally believe that the votes.....................*Never mind what i believe,it wont change anything*

This is so discouraging, its not even about APC or PDP,its the process that is wrong...why is Nigeria so backward?

    1. Street urchins, popularly called Area Boys yesterday went on rampage at Oshodi and its environs in Lagos State, forcing traders to close shops and in the process destroying goods and vehicles belonging to residents. The hoodlums were targeting Igbo indigenes in the area.

Thugs loyal to a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the All Progressive Congress (APC), Musiliu Akinsanya, a.k.a M.C. Oluomo, led the onslaught.

  2. I once said here couple of days ago and today I am still repeating, that this is where I draw the conclusion that Nigerians completely lack the right to choose their leaders.

It's so unfortunate the way things are going on this nation. So many nonsense masquerading as excellence. Where are we actually heading to? What legacy is been laid for the future generation? Will posterity be proud of today's action? So shameful and pitiable.

    1. Teejay, I remember the case of a young man from Kogi state that shot dead on the spot because he refused to vote APC !!!!!!! Nigeria as we know it is gone under buhari, the hunger, mass murders, starvation, ethnic cleansing that will take place in the next 4 years under buhari will be unprecedented !!!!!! All Nigeria gained from GEJ with regards one man one vote has been changed to one man 10,000 votes !!!!

    2. Shot because he didn't vote APC??? Why the lies?? Stay on SDK, don't vote next week and run back here to complain again. Southerners don't vote, to collect PVC self na war, you believe everything is done on social media. You will never see a kano man showcasing is state on social media, but one small erection in Anambra, social media no go rest again...keep voting on SDK..I hope you saw the queue at the polling units in the north on TV this weekend. They have been exposed to voting way back. They survive on power, and they know they must come out to vote. They have the number, if they support u, u are winning! Politics is a game of number dear...

    3. Anon 8:39, you watched what they want you to see on TV, me. Live with them here in the north !!!! AY Makun even celebrated this young hero of democracy his name is Daniel Usman ( a student of Kogi State University , unlike you the paid with his life for doing the right thing !!!!! We all watched videos how Tinubu's thugs made sure that the Igbo's did NOT vote in Lagos, and yet INEC did NOT reschedule the the voting because it did NOT affect APC !!!!! The elections are rigged in the rural areas of the North, in the north, if forensic investigation is done, they will discover that in one polling unit , the thumb print of every 1000 ballot paper maybe that of only 2 or 3 persons as they are involved with massively thumb printing for buhari !!!!!

  14. When I said Nigerians have short term memory many people didn't agreed. Recall last presidential election in 2015 was finally announced on Wednesday if u doubt it go and do your finding. And before the election hold the INEC chairman has already issue statement regarding when they will conclude the election and declare the winner by saying " the result will not take longer than that of 2015" so how did you analyze such statement?
Its today Wednesday? Did you guys throw tantrum in 2015?
Any way you guys can cry for all you care, its allowed....

  19. I have been reading all the comments on this blog! From my own point of view, Pdp had a slim chance to win immediately they chosed Atiku as there presidential candidate, he was chosen cos he had the more money than anyone of them to play this politics, they thought he would be able to divide the votes in the north east and north west, that was where they got it wrong, because down those areas he has already lost his integrity in there eyes, rather they see Buhari as there God, forget all the campaign pictures u saw in Kano, katsina and co, they will definitely mess him up, because they are very comfortable with Buhari. Down in the south west Apc has a strong hold cos of Tinubu and his cohorts, the votes that will come out for pdp from the south south and south east cannot make up the votes that will come from Kano, kaduna and katsina for Apc. The sad truth is that Buhari will definitely win, we have all been surviving throughout his administration, so we will continue that way in the next 4years too, another ugly truth is that 80% of Nigerians from the south east, south south and even south west didn’t even vote, especially the elite ones, rather we were all voting on social media.

    1. @Anonymous 10:05, your comment should be pinned on every Nigerian's heart! You have said it all! Buhari is the King in the North, no Northerner contesting against Buhari can defeat him there talk-less of Atiku! Rigging or not aside, PDP lost this election the day they picked Atiku as their flag bearer, a choice that was made based on greed and corruption which is synonymous with the party! Any other Northerner though will not come close to Buhari but would have given him a better run. The Northerners are election goals, they can risk it all to vote and once they perceive a candidate as having integrity concerns (Atiku), they can never be bought. For most people from the other parts of Nigeria (SS and SE to be precise), only the die hard youths risk it all to vote but not for a person with integrity but for rigging purposes and peanuts received. Most people from the SS and SE vote based on sentiments and hatred so the more Buhari is insulted, they push the Northerners to be even more motivated to come out en-masse to vote for him and prove how irrelevant they are in deciding who becomes president. The truth of the matter is that, a combination of the SS and SE do not have the capacity to determine who becomes the president. Without the support of the North, a candidate can never win! The North is that power politically and only need a little support from the SW! So the sooner the SS and SE come to terms with this fact and become more politically smart with their votes, the better! Right now (just like the 2015 election), their voting pattern just exhibits how politically irrelevant they are and it is quite embarrassing!

  20. PDP had party agents in all polling units across the federation during the election. So, if there are any infractions they witnessed during the collation, let them bring such forward to the elections tribunal.

  21. Hmmmmm!! Stella, Nigeria is even more backward than you think. I'm so so sad with the way things have turned out concerning the elections. A sensible person wouldn't force his/her way in where they are not needed. They know when to let go. And that was exactly what Goodluck Jonathan did. But this aboki would rather have everybody wiped out of Nigeria and rule over an empty land than let go for another person to step in. It's only God that can save us from the hands of our evil rulers.

  22. Stella I like you but don’t put your mouth in what you know nothing about. It took 4 days in 2015 before all the results were announced so why are you saying it’s taking time now?
