In a chat with Sunday Scoop , Osuagwu said leaving Nigeria due to bad governance and hardship would only make him a coward . He stated , “ Though I travel to other countries for pleasure and business , I have never thought of leaving Nigeria ( for good) despite the hardship one faces every day . If I run because of the hardship in the country , I am not helping the situation .
If I leave Nigeria now , I will come back someday and the same problem might still be there . I know people who have left the country and I am not sure things are better for them abroad . ”
The actor also lamented that most Nigerians were living in aloofness while politicians were busy sharing the country ’ s wealth . He said , “ I am not happy with this present administration . Nigerians are not happy ; we don’ t even know what tomorrow will look like. I hope things will get better someday; our leaders need to change their mindset towards the masses . ”
Punch.
*Most people who relocated to the Diaspora are not having it easy but to them it is better than suffering in Nigeria..One mans meat is another bone
No Stella, not most of the ones not having it easy abroad think that it is better than the suffering in Nigeria. A lot of them are only staying and struggling to survive because they feel that it would be shameful to return back to Nigeria without anything to show for it. That’s why they take pictures to show on social media, deceiving people of their true living conditions. We all know this. We live abroad. In as much as you enjoy the services you pay for, there is this vacuum you cannot fill because of the way of life in many abroad countries. You only work to pay bills. It’s just about survival. Individualistic life. You don’t even have any rapport with neighbors and colleagues at work except for Friday and Saturday nights. I better remain a first class citizen in my country with the suffering than remain a third class citizen with battle for survival in another country.
ReplyDeleteDon’t I just love you anon 10:33.
DeleteYou said it all. Each time I travel, some of them stylishly beg for you to give them whatever is left on you, cash or foodstuffs. Isn’t that sad.
Enchantress, I just said it as it is. We live far away from home but we know how many of our compatriots live their lives. There is no need to denying these lived experiences. People are dying in silence all in the name of seeking greener pastures. I tell you, if only we could put in the same kind of efforts we use in working abroad in our own country, I doubt if we would be in the state that we are in. Hmmmm, you just said you love me in your comment. Are you single? I fit propose? Diamond or golden ring? Which one do you want?

DeleteAnon 12:18, not everyone has broke friends like you who claim to live large. That you choose to live in illusions that your life outside Nigeria is better, good for you. Like I told your cohort down there, stay woke and observe closely.
DeleteThat's his own now.
ReplyDeleteif I av the opportunity to travel to a country that will better my living,I will accept it wholeheartedly
ReplyDeleteDont be deceived those of you who think most Nigerians abroad suffer or feel like 3rd class citizens, some have adapted well into the diaspora and doing exceedingly well beyond what they imagined, to the extent the foreign country is home to them...each to their own..
ReplyDeleteThat’s true.. I don’t know the abroad someone up there is talking about.. uk is good to me oo
DeleteSo because it’s ok for you, you believe it’s same for everyone else. Please stay woke and observe closely.
