Television presenter, Morayo Afolabi-Brown has responded to criticism following her controversial statement that she trusts her husband but wouldn’t allow him bathe their daughter....
The TVC's Your View co-host explained on her IG handle...
She wrote;
''I will normally not do this but I feel I should respond. It’s painful that people think I would in anyway suggest that my husband is a “potential abuser”. Sad. The truth is that the show allows us to state varied views which should be respected and understood. So understand this, there are women who have used their life to vouch that their husbands would never abuse their daughters yet we see it happen. Let’s make it easy for those women to speak up. Let’s make it easy for girls to speak up about their abusers, even if it’s their father''!

huh?
Madam i hear you
ReplyDeleteMy thing is, if you don't trust your husband enough to bathe your daughter then you shouldn't trust him enough to live in the same house with your daughter.
DeleteHow many people that have abused children had the opportunity of of bathing them? Having kids around such persons is all it takes to bring out their animalistic tendencies.
That said, If I can't trust my husband with my daughter, I won't be living with the man. If he hasn't given me any reason to distrust him then I won't. My husband bathes our daughter every morning, by the time I get back from jogging, she is already dressed for school.
The world has gone bad but people should treat their spouses with respect. Is a man even allowed to touch his daughter these days?
It irks me when people start their write up with "I normally wouldn't do this..",like TF..na me dey 'normally' do am?..biko gbalu ógwú gi ñuó..
DeleteMeanwhile, you for no further explain o. Yesterday,I nyuru nsi n'ulo uka, today e werezie aka gi tesasia the nsi n'ulo uka.
Lolz
DeleteThe pple Criticizing her seems to b d 'ones' that allow dir husband's to do this and d ones there father bathed. There is something called OBJECTIVE reasoning, it don't mean everyone will agree with u,but is simply means ur tots r devoid of ' the band wagon'.
DeleteAn Anon made a 500% VALID point on d 1st post, u all shd go back and read it.
This is her opinion, d way she wants to DEAL, not d way d society or u all married women shd deal!!!!
Do abusers carry placards on dir foreheads? Watch Crime of Passion and see what pple who ordinarily won't do what sent them to jail on a normal day DID! Its called CAUTION!!!! Deal with urs ur own way .
Running ur mouths and abusing her upandan on here, some of una dey vouche for una HORSEBANDS yet he will b cheating on u all.
Pls b objective and smart wen u Read other pples option. Like DAT ( GOD BLESS the anon on d other post). Anon said, THINK UR TOTS AND STAND BY IT,DONT FOLLOW POPULAR OPINION.... I love she didn't change mouth here. This woman has my respect 100%
Onyi I bu a complete ODE,MUMU,an unexposed woman who only knows how to open leg for fuck. U lack intelligence na ur type dey carry husband matter for head. Ndo o nnem
Delete@Zeus do you realize what her statement has done to the husband's image?
DeleteEven in his place of work, do you understand the implication of those careless statements.
Lets just leave it at that
Chai and someone said it she will come back to clarify
ReplyDeleteTalking from both sides of the mouth.
ReplyDeleteTalking from both sides of the mouth.
ReplyDeleteSad? If he isn't a ''potential abuser'' then why can't you allow him bath your daughter?
She has a point, this thing happens
ReplyDeleteMorayo is a cantankerous human being. I hope this statement will not hurt her marriage in the future. I hope her friends, neighbours and family members will not start suspecting her husband around their daughters.
DeleteGod forbid bad thing.
My husband baths our baby but I see nothing wrong with her opinion.
ReplyDeleteSame here @ Fan. Nothing wrong at all, the one's that are shouting upandan you'll be shocked at what their husband's are doing and the wives even know but they wana keep being Mrs. Nonsense
DeleteI totally agree with her, I don’t follow her ways but she has a choice when it comes to her family and everyone should learn to respect it
DeleteShe has said what she wanted to say n i respect her views. from 8yrs I knew how to "bathe" mom would supervise, the earlier u teach ur baby girl how to wash up the better. imagine bathing a 13yo gorl, for what!
ReplyDeleteExactly, I'm sure I was way younger than that when I started bathing myself.
DeleteWhen I come out, mum would check back of ears, neck, armpits etc.
If she didn't think it was clean enough, you will go back and bathe again with a strong conk on the head to escort you for wasting her time. And if you exceed the time given, another conk is waiting to welcome you.
The earlier you train your child to be independent in every way, the better.
At least you will have one less worry of anyone fingering your child when he or she is being bathed.
Instances of this are far more rampant than we think. Far more.
Haha! I so love your mum's style Anon. No nonsense.
DeleteLol... Thank God your head didn't care in... I love our mothers sha.
DeleteWoman just agree say you don misyarn and apologize to your husband for the disgrace in the public of igwe mmadu.
ReplyDeletesome Nigerians can be so aggressive and frustrated. can we just let morayo be and move on pls?
ReplyDeleteAm so disappointed by Nigerians reactions and i tell you that next time people will be afraid to say their minds in public for fear of being antagonized. I perfectly understand her point but then we live in a crazy environment.
DeleteWhat is she saying?? She shouldn't have responded
ReplyDeleteNgwanu Morayo speak up!
ReplyDeleteYou are still saying that same thing madam, stop prolonging this matter, keep quiet already
ReplyDeleteMorayo you have not still said what's worrying you. Please land well.
ReplyDeleteI understand what she is saying.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm me dnt Understand o,indirectly she's still yelling the same thing ooo..
DeleteMorayo, you have said what you wanted to say
ReplyDeleteLet it slide, I understand the angle you are coming from
Alot is happening
The implication can be very nasty, the man can not even plat with the daughter anyhow again
DeleteIf only words could be taken back.
ReplyDeleteShe would have just apologized for talking nonsense instead of this double disgrace.
Everybody wants to claim right
First and foremost, the programme is called "Your View" for a reason. Morayo went to school in the US and lived around people who were not afraid to speak their minds. Nobody should choke her biko.
ReplyDeleteI watch the show because of the diverse views expressed. I have disagreed with the views of Jumoke, Tope and especially Uwa on certain issues in past episodes but I respect the fact that they are entitled to their opinions. I can't force them to see life through my own lens no matter how "correct" I think I am because our lives and experiences are different and unique.
She doesn't want her husband to bathe their daughter. Period! If you want your own husband to insert fingers into your daughter's vagina or massage it with palm kernel oil, please go ahead. Haba! Na she get time dey "clear air" sef.
Thank you. Her view o. They keep spewing trash meanwhile cases of abuse are reported all the time.
DeleteWetin this one dey talk?So if she schooled in the US that gives her the audacity to bring her husbands character to question?Morayo talks too much biko and in a bid to sound sensible she comes across as ignorant. She will be alright las las
DeleteSweetie it's "coconut oyil" this time around not PKO LMAO 😂😂😂
DeleteI talk am say if you no hold your ground well. Some Nigerians go make u wan jump inside lagoon. I am beginning to see it happen in this case. Morayo, release no further statements again. I don't even know why she released this statement.
I agree with you. Uwa used to drive me crazy with her narrow-mindedness. I watched the full show on youtube and she clarified what she was saying there. Wrong choice of words to pass the message but she cleared it. The media lifted only that part and left out the rest. She has a right to her opinion, people should learn to respect that.
DeleteShe has her own opinion and your have yours.
ReplyDeleteSome people don't even allow their female and male kids sleep on same bed or share a room. I personally believe in boundaries. And it doesn't have to do in suspecting incest.
I just believe in privacy to some extent for female children from the age of 4/5. Start making them aware and at no point in particular should any male touch their body. No matter who it is.
That’s my father o, he doesn’t let same sex in the same room, my younger was helping me with something on my laptop, so I went to his room, my father started calling my name and saying it’s not good for men and women to be in the same room. I was just laughing that day, my younger one I senior with about 5good years. That was his way and I respected him, it dint mean he was molested, it’s just his way
DeleteMorayo, your words were that you can't allow your husband bath your daughter !!! are you married to a dog? So you fear that your husband can be tempted to sleep with your child? Wow. Anyway you know who you married.
ReplyDeleteWhere is that one that was feeling super intelligent and was getting angry at peoples comments yesterday?
Some of the men abusing their daughters are on drugs, some are alcoholics, some are just mental whilst others probably for ritual purposes.
Whether we like it or not, we cannot stop living because we have kids. If you live abroad and you are a nurse or doctor, what will you do? People leave their kids with their spouses and go to work in the night. You can take precautions but if you "cannot" leave your girl child with her own father then something wrong and you are the problem.
The moment I start taking precautions against my own husband regarding his daughter then the marriage is over .
Then lets stop this talk of my daughter, it is "our".
Not all men think with their penis, lets stop using our personal experiences to judge every one.
At 15;49 can u give account of what u will do tomorrow? Like 100%? Exactly. U don't know what trippers this things.... Prevention is better than cure, we have seen responsible men and women caught in acts that r disgusting, we have heard pple shout it devil upandan. Stop killing her with ya INGLISH , allow her air her VIEW!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteLMAO 😂😂😂 @ stop killing her with ya inglish.
DeleteShe's only trying to save face, this wasn't the way she stated it on the show,on the show, she was talking about herself personally, the husband would have warned her seriously for her to make this video denying what she meant, anyway we've heard you madam 😎😎😎😎
ReplyDeleteOh by there names we know them. U r a bug right? U flew to there house perched and listened to d husband warning her .smh
DeleteYou simply repeated what you said earlier
ReplyDeleteMtweew!
This issue is a very serious one. It should generate conversations that will cure abuse of little, impressionable children. It should not generate hate and rancour
ReplyDeleteThat program is your view ,she stated her opiqa
ReplyDeleteThe program is your view and she stated her opinion, she may have acted based on the information she have gotten based on abuse, where she grew up from, family friends that might have passed through the abuse and out of curiosity she's acting or trying to be cautious
ReplyDeleteNa so! This your back pedalling and redirect is not werking madam. You stated your truth on national TV, don't make it about other women now, that one issa big face saving lie.
ReplyDeleteImagine if her husband had said he trusts her but he won't let her bathe their son because he doesn't want to take chances. So she thinks all men are potential child molesters?
ReplyDeleteHer husband is weakling! If I were him, I'd have divorced her without a second thought. If can't say you trust somebody but qualify your statement with a "but".
If my wife thinks I might get sexually aroused when I see my daughter's nakedness, we shouldn't stay married.
Fifty gbosas for this apt opinion.
DeleteFolks should be careful with the things they spew out of their mouth especially in public. It is very difficult if not impossible to take back certain words once they've been let out.
That lady rubbished herself by casting her husband in such a terrible manner.
The way you people just mention divorce anyhow here enh.
DeleteDon't mind them. Porous brained men
DeleteIt's a TV show someone must be against the topic, make una rest like opposing the motion,it doesn't reflect her views. Just like in debate in secondary school you speak for or against.
ReplyDeleteIt's a TV show someone must be against the topic, make una rest like opposing the motion,it doesn't reflect her views. Just like in debate in secondary school you speak for or against.
ReplyDeleteStupid! The same Morayo that put up a photo of a lady's boobs on social media, claiming she harassed her husband, just because the lady was seated opposite them.
ReplyDeleteI strongly believe she has no iota of trust in her husband, probably the dude can't but mess up in the presence of ANY female, even her daughter.
I wonder why people are bashing her. What she said is not bad. Prevention is far better than cure. It is not right for a man to bath a girl, take it or leave it.
ReplyDeleteSo the best way to give victims voice and encourage them to talk is to act like one of them at the expense of your own marriage and denting the image of your husband. It will not affect the husband if they had discussed this issue as family before she went on national TV to spew that rubbish. If not, her reasons are not tenable. If it was the other way round, feminists will not allow us any peace.
ReplyDeleteYou are a fool. Many feminists have condemned it and have written on that. Accept it, feminism has come to stay
