The cause of the fire is still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
However, traders were seen wailing as they watch their properties, shops and wares destroyed by the raging inferno.
Hoodlums were also seen looting from a side of the market even in the presence of security operatives.
Efforts by officers and men of the Delta State Fire Service to quench the fire were unsuccessful as they ran out of water.
