Azuka was accused to have intentionally induced the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting, NSPM to employ him as Security Assistant 1A by presenting a forged reference letter purportedly made by the Honourable Minister of Finance, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala recommending him as a worthy officer fit for employment, an offence contrary to section 320(b) of the Penal Code.
He was found guilty on counts two and three, in which he was accused of forging the reference letter purportedly signed by Okonjo-Iweala. Justice Idris held that the prosecution proved the counts beyond every reasonable doubt and so sentenced him to four years on each of the counts to run concurrently without an option of fine.

Four years for forging signature?ah ah,I think its too much!!!!
He would be fine. Shebi 9month makes one year in prison. Ole.
ReplyDeleteTell me something Miss Ess, 9months makes one year in prison. How did you know? Have you or any of your relatives been there before?
DeleteGood for him
DeleteIs he not a poor man. That is what poor people gets when they are caught.
ReplyDeleteThe guy try for forging only luck was not with him. Others have gone unnoticed .
No ma'am, it's not too much. Do your crime personally and don't involve the innocent woman. Enjoy your 4 years in kuje prison (I hope).
ReplyDeleteStella I agree with you....even the purpose of crime should have been treated with some level of leniency. Government didn't provide jobs for it's citizens and the man was doing everything possible to get himself a job. Dem for just punish him by giving him a lower job...Anyway, what do I know?
ReplyDeleteGood you ended your long rant with “what do I know?” Maybe you should read your comment again and ask yourself if it makes sense. Why did you open a laundry business for yourself if you could have easily forged a signature for job? Is the government the only entity for job creation?
Delete08:23, everybody doesn't have passion for business. The primary responsibility of every government is to provide job and security to it's citizens, when they fail to provide such responsibilities, they should improvise by providing enabling environment for businesses to thrive, like steady electricity.
DeleteIf I tell you how much I spend everyday on fuel you will shake head, if I have an opportunity I'll accept a white collar job simply because the Nigerian environment is not helping the small scale entrepreneurs. Anyway like I said...what do I know?
Lmao
ReplyDeleteThey should have left the poor man alone, all na part of hustling, na hunger cuz am
ReplyDeleteSo you support fraud caused by hunger?
DeleteI'm just imagining how many frauds you must have committed on this blog considering your poor state
Teejay, come take your biafra brother o. Him forge Igbo woman signature. Next thing, una go blame Nigerian government
ReplyDeleteCrime is not the way out. If you cant do the time, dont do the crime but come to think of it, how many senators and top govt officials and money bags pay for their crime?
ReplyDeleteIs this one they will convict, useless people
