      This is my understanding: the phrase "no pun intended" in other words means "no insult meant" it is used as a soft landing especially when statements that may be taken as an insult is been said. I may say, "The nail polish doesnt compliment your skin tone." In order for the person that I made that statement to not to feel insulted,I may go further to say "no pun intended" to show that I didn't mean that as an insult. So how is this wrong,anon?
