EFCC Denies ‘Arresting’ Former Vice President Atiku’s Sons,Say They Were After Former Abia Govs Son

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied arresting the sons of Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

It was reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had raided the home of children of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

EFCC’s Acting Spokesperson, Mr. Tony Orilade, made the denial in a statement in Abuja, on Monday.

He said, “We have received several calls and e-mail messages asking us to confirm the arrest of the sons of Abubakar as being alleged in some quarters.
Some only said we raided the apartments of Atiku’s sons looking for foreign currencies. This is nothing but another tales by moonlight.”

Orilade also stated that the commission was not after Atiku‘s sons and they were not among the two boys that were arrested.

“It is in the news that we have been investigating the former Abia Governor, Sen. Theodore Orji, over alleged N27 billion money-laundering.
In the course of investigation, we discovered that he laundered part of the money through his sons.We have been on the trail of some of the purchases made by his sons, including the cars the boys allegedly bought.

“There is no link whatsoever to Atiku.”.

    1. It’s a big lie . The boys they took are my cousins. They have apologised and left them alone . My own is they should go to the press and tell the press the truth. They found nothing on them •. Infact they should be sued. Idiots . Stupid body with no integrity

  4. PDP, lies and deciet are one. I have not an iota of respect for them. Atiku's son arrested = Lies. Obi's account and that of his clan and ancestors frozen= Lies. Okupe arrested on cyber crime and hate speech = Lies. Okupe was invited, summoned or arrested (feel free to use any that suits your narrative ) because his name has always been linked to the $2.1b Dasuki largesse. Get informed before you open your mouth to talk. Everything is not political witch hunting.
