There was a period in my life when I felt completely lost. I had plenty of responsibilities and endless lists of things that had to be done. But none of these things afforded me any sense of purpose or prolonged joy. It seemed like I was on a treadmill, doing the same things every day and trying to fill my time with distractions and busy work. I started to feel like a stranger to myself, unsure of what I was meant to do and who I was supposed to be. The most difficult part of this time was feeling completely powerless to change my situation. I had no idea what I wanted or needed to make things better, and I didn't have a clue about how to find out.
In retrospect, I recognize that I was in a life transition period, shedding the person I once was while trying to figure out who I was to become. These periods of life can feel very scary and lonely. Have you ever felt like you are lost and stuck in a rut? Have you ever felt lost to yourself, like you are a stranger inhabiting your body? Whether it is in your personal or professional life, if you feel like you are living the wrong life, or that what you are doing each day lacks meaning and authenticity, you are likely to feel lost. As isolating and lonely as this situation feels, you certainly aren't alone. Everyone goes through periods of disconnection, uncertainty, and apathy.
It doesn’t mean your life is over if you aren't sure how to find yourself again. It just means that you are in a transitional phase that you have to work your way out of. The key to finding yourself again is to step out of your rut, take action, and work to create a life you love again. Like me, though, you may have no idea how to go about that.

There is this story my mum told me last night which was told by their pastor in service yesterday and I thought I should share.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the story,a man died and was to be buried and as was the custom,the surviving spouse is supposed to say something besides the normal biography that is always read about the dead spouse.
So,this woman was called upon to say something about the dead husband in the coffin. She got the mouse and kept mute for a long time till people started urging her to say something.
Next thing she says is NO NEED and kept repeating it till the preacher asked her what it meant. She then said that while the husband was alive, there was no need of him being alive and being dead. That he was of no need to her life nor her children; not in the other room and especially not in the entire finance of the family. That she was only being called a married woman but she was married to herself and so even in death there was still no need.
According to my mum women in church were all cheering.
I laughed so hard yesterday but then,that is our reality in today's society.

My sister, there's flu in the air o. Instead of snow, na wicked dust-carrying harmattan we dey experience. I was ill all through Saturday (sore throat, badass headache, heavy catarrh, cough) so my pharmacist friend placed me on a 5-day dosage of antibiotics & strong pain killers. ReplyDeleteThat caused a huge fight and he beat her up.he did not travel that day.the woman now had a younger boyfriend.permanent among other sugar daddies.that day the boyfriend osazuwa came thinking the hubby had gone.no phone then.if u lived in ewa road in Benin u will remember.and met the hubby.the hubby who had heard stories after doing his findings that day.asked who are u trying to attack d boy the boy brought out a gun.the man hit the gun from the boys hand and d boy ran away.all this while the wife was alseep cos of the bruises.then in my area we had this unity.thats how the shouted thief the whole area caught him and was beating him.the wife saw me coming from outside me .Wanted to go and call my sister's and asked me what was the noise outside about I said I dont know.me I called my sisters .while we were there our area people were interrogating the boy after beating him cos they knew him and don dey vex with style.all of a sudden the wife of the man sighted it and ran and fell on the boy and said he is her lover .they should beat her and leave him.she loves him bla blah.area weak.leave them on.that day she parked her things.and carried the last baby.she has five kids then and left.

I recently started using my LO's lotion cos I prefer to use Shea butter on her skin. My skin has been glowing ever since though a bit dry. I just added a little olive oil.
