  5. Often a time it has been misconstrued that marriages fail but of a truth it does not, rather it is the individuals  that failed in marriage.

Human greed, insatiable desire, inordinate ambition and irreconcilable differences  are the reasons for many persons to fall out of marriage.

Make no mistake about this, marriage is a beautiful thing but again there isn't a perfect marriage on earth or marriage made in heaven. Everyone has their own challenges, some chose not to talk about it in the public space but  handle and manage it with wisdom.

Finally, it will be from a wrong place of heart to say 'Marriage is overrated.' Whoever believe in that school of thought need their brain to be examine for a  sanity test. So funny and laughable that those who are quick to say it is overrated are either singles, divorced or unfulfilled. When you have a good home and family, then you will understand the sweetness and beauty of matrimony.

That your marriage failed or u have seen 100 marriages crash does not make it overrated.

Marriage is wonderful when you marry ' your own' spouse.

I thought you guys were jubilating when lies were peddled here about me that I am married with two kids and also that I have a saloon in Port Harcourt lolzzx. In life, it takes time for truth to unravel and that much I have come to learn. Thanks for acknowledging the fact that those who tried to ruin my character lied about it all. As for getting married, don't worry it will come to pass at the appointed time.

    8. Teejay though you made a valid point. But what comes to mind when I hear or say that marriage is overrated it is that:

In this part of the world which I know so well, most people both young and old usually put the cart before the horse. Young people are not thoroughly assessed and told the truth before walking down that aisle.

Instead voices keep chanting biological clock and comparing you to your peers.
No one is saying you need to get your choice of partner right alas, when it goes sour they will still be the ones to shame you if you don't keep up with the pretence.

Did you know that there about 6 tests to pass a relationship through and the result will help you and the partners involved to see and know whether going forward with marriage will fail or blossom?
Yes! Just about 6 tests but how many people know about this and are going to be candid and courageous enough to break an unhealthy relationship?

I think when we buttress the need for and possible ways to cultivate healthy relationships as healthy individuals first, then we can take our eyes off the prize called MARRIAGE and still end up having more successful marriages in our society.

  17. It's a beautiful Wednesday Morning.
Please remember me in your prayers o. I am very talented with home decor/Interior and my cousin advised me to start it as a Business since i'm not even working at the moment. I got my very first job yesterday through her Friend and I'm confident I can do it but I still have this fear in me because it will be my first time doing it as a Job although she didn't tell the client that.
I measured the windows and doors of the building yesterday and am to give quotation by Friday.
I Just pray God makes this work out for me! I'm willing to give my all but I need him to guide me through!
    God bless y'all..

Use this job as a means of building your portfolio and gaining experience. Make sure to take professional before and after photos but don't splash them on social media without your client's consent. Use it to create an an album of your work. Also if the client is happy with your work, make sure you get a written testimonial and possible referrals. Lastly, no matter how small, gift the person who hooked you up with the job something to show your gratitude.

      Congratulations!!

Please don't be afraid, it's fear that stops many from achieving their dreams.

Let me share something with you.
A client once asked if I could get a particular job done. I was already nodding neck like lizard before he had finished talking.
I had done unaccountable jobs similar to this but not that EXACT job.

I knew in my SOUL I could do it, but I was afraid.

A day before I was still online checking up definitions, samples, asking questions, LMAO.

On the appointed day, I bounced in like a pro, did my job and got paid.
      Best part?
Client calls me two weeks later and tells me to be on standby for further contracts!!

Every one needs someone to give them a chance, now you have it. If you get stuck as you are hanging chair abi tying wallpaper, call a professional on the phone or go on Quora with your questions, kpata kpata invite the professional and split the fee.
      There is ALWAYS a way.

      Ignore every form of negativity.

Your goal is to deliver a fantastic job to client and keep getting referrals and better jobs. And of course like 8:29 said, make sure you sow your seeds.

      Cheers.

  20. April 2004.
My father retired from a position in church due to health reasons. To honour his meritorious service, the diocese threw him a send forth party. My father is a good man so every parishioner contributed to making the party a success. And yes it was. There were lots to eat and drink.
At the end, he was presented with a wrapped gift, collectively bought by members of the diocese. We knew it was a huge set of ceramic plates, my mother's bestie who was part of the planning committee, told her when they bought it. Lol.
Some members gave him wrapped gifts containing plates, cups, kettle etc; envelopes containing money, others gave wines, Ankara materials, food stuff etc. This was done individually.
When we got home, we packed all the gifts, still wrapped, in an empty room we called STORE.

    February 2005.
The year started so badly for us, we ate sparingly. Mom was the breadwinner, dad was still ill. My older siblings were yet to go back to school because of money, mom could only pay for two at a time: my younger sibling and I in secondary school.

One fateful Saturday was a neighbor's daughter, Nkechi's wedding. My parents were invited but could not go because of well... you know. We hadn't money to buy gifts for them, heck, we hadn't anything. Not even foodstuff in the house. But how could we tell them that? They were good neighbors, Nkechi a lass. Someone from our family should at least attend. But with nothing?

Just then, dear mommy remembered the gifts in our STORE and thought we could pick something from there to present the bride. She asked my cousin who was living with us to go prepare for the occasion, she would represent the family.
The rest of us marched to the store to unwrap the gifts to know which to give Nkechi.
When we got to the room, we unwrapped all the gifts given by members of the church individually, to Daddy. After a few arguments amongst us, we agreed on the big stainless kettle and a set of cutlery. Everyone was happy. I walked out of the room with four of my siblings (we were seven; two were my cousins, four my siblings). My Mom and my second elder sister, Dera, stayed back arranging the room and gisting. Dera was and is still is mom's favorite. We knew this and always left them alone.

We had not gotten to the sitting room when we heard a loud piercing scream from Dera. We rushed back to the store, my cousin who was in the bathroom dashed in after us, the towel on her chest nearly slipping off. Daddy was calling weakly from his room asking what had happened.

    This was Dera's account:

  21. So I got to work 45 minutes late (thank you, Lagos
weather) and decided to make myself a cup of tea.
    .
After splitting the content of my tin of milk with a
janitor (the custard he was making needed a fix), I
couldn't find my regular spoon for stirring, so I opted for a smaller one.
    .
The spoon virtually swam in the cup, could hardly
reach bottom. Now I know how some ladies feel
when they almost regret giving in to their curiosity
because the screwdriver they picked is too tiny to fit into the nut being screwed.
    .
This is, of course, not a dig at small spoons, because
sometimes it's not the size of the spoon, it's how
well the spoon can navigate the cup. That said,
hope to find a cup that fits. Teaspoons are not meant for jugs.

  25. Good morning people. So, few weeks back I was with my so called best friend, we were discussing life after school, about our different line of work, let's say I got too comfortable and I told her how much I was earning. Since then I noticed that our communication has not been the same. She hardly return my call or chats, I let her be. So yesterday I ran into a mutual friend and she was smiling sheepishly, I think she was being too nice and friendly. We gisted and she told me that my friend met her and was lamenting that I was earning more than her, even though her grades in school was far better than mine, she also claimed that it was because I sleep with my ogas.
I'm just so vexed, I don't even know what to say to her.

  26. After we left the room, Mom told her to unwrap the gift from the diocese so she'll just see it. Dera carried it to do so and as she touched the top, she felt something soft and bulky. Not foamy soft, but softer than the rest of the carton which housed the plates. It scared her and she told Mom, they prayed before tearing the foil.
    Then they saw it!

On top of the carton was a white envelope taped to it. Dera quickly yanked off the tape, brought out the envelope, tore it open. Inside were mint #500 notes and a small written note: (To our dearest Daddy, we love you).
My mom sat shocked and speechless. Dera said it was all like a dream. She counted the money. 16k! The money had been there for eight months. It was a miracle!
    That was when she screamed.

Good morning beautiful Stella and lovely BVs. May God surprise us with blessings today.

  31. Why would an adult call a small child ugly for God's sake, to crown it all, na the mother of the child ooo. Was in my daughter's school and a parent was dragging her child to school been that she was late and the child was trying to walk fast to meet up with the mum's pace, she just shouted " can you walk fast you ugly thing". That child started crying immediately, I had to intervene and talk to the child and she smiled with my accolades of how beautiful she is. The mum was just angry that I said the child is beautiful and transferred aggression on me, pls wetin be my offence?

  32. Beautiful morning to everyone, see the way November is running 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ to meet December, devil. You lia, I say you lia, I still serve God no matter what the situation may be. I have been spending money lately on drugs and visiting the hospital 🏥, but I have told myself no more buying of drugs again, God take control.

My Wednesday crush goes to every hustling woman, not those parting legs oh, those that hustle without parting legs.

  33. Teenagers might think that everybody but them is experimenting with drugs. This may seem true because they see drug use:

on television, in movies and on social media,
when hanging out with friends, or
    at parties
They may consider doing drugs because they think it will help them fit in Instead of helping you fit in, drugs could actually destroy your friendships.
Drugs can waste your time and money, leaving little of either to spend with your friends.
You do not have to do all the same things your friends do, just to keep your friendships.

  34. What’s the best gift to give to a man that has it all. What I mean by he has it all is that he has money, clothes, infact he’s a fashionista, he dresses more than me. He has perfumes and shoes, two or three wrist watches,I can’t get him underwears, he has so many that has not been opened. I’m thinking of making him a portrait but I still want other choices of gifts.

Ps: He’s my husband and we have been married for a year, he’s been so good to me, always giving me everything I want so this Christmas I want to also give him something nice but unique.

  43. Castle Windsor's story reminds me of what happened on my graduation day from Unilag.
I had gotten every other things I needed like a killer gown, shoes and a cute bag. Also it has always been my dream to pop champagne on the D day, but alas, few days to the event, things became a lil rough at work cos I was already managing an Event Center right at the end of my final exams.
My mom brought food from home and I had to borrow 5 grand from a neighbor to buy few drinks to entertain my guests without being able to buy the champagne!
I didn't allow that to get to me cos every other thing was on point, I even got a surprise graduation cake from a lily cousin.

That was how I enjoyed my self with the little I had on me, on getting home I had this fine infinix phone boxes that I keep cos they were just fine, my mind told me to check inside, the first one I opened had the usual papers that comes with phone packages and I just shook the second and didn't bother to check it. I had thought of taking it along to the party for my younga siblings, but I didn't want it to cause fight amongst them and my aunt's Children so I kept for my uncle's lil daughter to play with.
We sha got home and those were the first things I saw cos I rearranged my things and I trashed some things earlier in the day cos I packed some of my stuff for them to help me drop at my parents house. Long story short, I just gave the two phone packs to my lily cousin and few minutes later she just screamed "Aunty Rose take" and then threw a pack at me! Guess what?? I found smelly 500 Naira notes inside, which means the money has been there for a while. I was just sooo happy! First thing I did was to go pay off my debt and buy juice for some people in the compound as it wa not an easy feat graduating from Unilag after a 6 years program.

  45. Morning all. Pls I want to advise us women. If you know you don't know what it takes to get married, if you know you don't know what it takes to be a WIFE ,if you know you are for sex only, if you know you don't have any plans of supporting your husband either financially, spiritually or intellectually ; if you know you plan to frustrate your man and make him regret ever marrying you; if you know you lack manners and will create problems for any man that marries you ; then it's best you don't get married if you are not ready to change. It's not a must to get married naw. It's annoying for you to call yourself a wife and not act like one. It's annoying to see you act like a heartless girlfriend parading as a wife. May God touch your heart cos I am tired o

You think the way you are saying it is what it takes to be married? Allow married people to breath, for every action there must be a reason, dig deep before you run into conclusion.

It's people like u that promote suffering & smiling marriage or intimate relationship and call it * being matured..or *being strong.
      Ndi ara !
I bet such delusional men will still be looking for a woman to come & support them till they enter grave.
See foolish old men everywhere today living a pathetic existence due to failure to take responsibility when they were young. U see them thinking they r god in their youth. And ending up broke & lost in their madness of belief that they r very important to women.

Will there be a chance for caterers/ bakers to give discount for xmas food? This will be especially helpful for those planning traditional wedding around this period and looking to save costs on food/drinks, or just anyone having xmas parties.
