Bishop got to Abuja. Alas! His entire luggage of two big bags were missing. He reported this to the airline but had to go home without his luggage or gifts meant for his family. He had bought gifts for his wife, children, children’s spouses, grandchildren, extended family, staff and even church members. After several days of frantic calls, one of the bags was found and sent to him. The other bag, a brand new one at that, which contained all the expensive gifts and new things were not found till today.
Worse is the shabby way Turkish Airlines have handled the matter. They asked the 70 year old Bishop to give them a list of everything in the bag with receipts after admitting they could not produce the bag. He managed to list the ones he could remember, items costing thousands of euros and chose to forgo the ones he didn’t for peace’ sake. He has sent several correspondence back and forth. Turkish Airlines sent him a ridiculous offer of 900 dollars for the entire missing luggage, when only the bag costs 700 euros. How annoying!
Bishop Obayojie plans to sue them but how long will Nigerians continue to suffer in the hands of these airlines? Soon to guarantee luggage safety,we would have to carry them on our laps when we travel.....
Thank God iv never lost a luggage before that shit can be painful.
ReplyDeleteIt's not even the money you want back. But the items stolen, especially if you travel specifically for shopping.
Turkish airline has been doing this since July. Dunno if it's only passengers coming to Abuja that suffered this. You land but your luggage doesn't follow you. You keep going to the airport till like the 4th day before your batch comes. And worse is that their flight lands here 11.30 ish so you won't even find their staff to shout on, you just wanna go home and sleep. Ask any Turkish passenger that flew into Abuja around July/August. You don't get your luggage maybe except 1st/buisness class. It's annoying. And seems no-one can say anything.
ReplyDeleteEvery one just swears and threatens but nothing.
Way to Go bishop. I hope justice is done and you are well compensated
He should sue them.
ReplyDeleteEasy: get travel insurance when travelling.
ReplyDeleteI support him...
ReplyDeleteSame thing they did my mum. She buys goods from Turkey. And they misplaced her luggage with goods of $3500. After providing receipts, they offered her $700. When she threatened to sue them, they increased it to $900.
ReplyDeleteFor peace to reign, we advised her to take it. My prayer is for Turkish airline to meet their type and may God use this bishop to show them.
It's bad for an airline to treat their passengers shabbily. Let him sue them for damages so that they can learn to treat their passengers well and care for their luggage.
ReplyDeletesue for damages and pursue to a logical conclusion. turkish people are so arrogant and annoying
