In Lagos There was one Isoko man i know that we used to call Uncle...He was short,had a nose ten times flatter than the type i have and very very proud.
All of sudden one day,he made a lot of money and we heard that ''mugu don fall''....Every time i saw this Uncle,i would try to obtain...no way,i would ask out rightly,he would promise and then fail to give me..my impression of him was that he was a damn stingy short man...lol
Just before i left Nigeria,he became broke and used to obtain me and i would give him and he would collect it and say ''shame dey catch me,see me when suppose dey give you''...I would tell him,ah Uncle no problem oh.....I used to catch rides with him a lot anytime there is BUS scarcity so it was OK for me using him that way...
After i relocated,I heard his broke state did not improve.......I said that amn is too stingy,he never gave anyone so who will bail him out?
I heard his wife died from childbirth some four years ago and i felt sorry for him............. end of story!
Yesterday i was updated on what had befallen him...
He went to a church to Worship some Sundays ago and the Pastor went straigh to him and told him 'you ,you came here to try power right?After killing your wife.you think you can stand against the power of God?
As pastor point am finger for front of full congregation na him the man fall down and suffered a stroke and the pastor and Church members carry am go back to him house enter him bedroom go bring out black juju pot under him bed and come snap am put for facebook.
He died 3 days later and people said he confessed to killing his wife and that infact he turned it into a song.e dey sing am "na me kill am oh,na me".
The man lived in a mansion and people are suggesting it should be raided to check if he has been killing other people...He has since been taking home to be buried...So instead of his wife's head bringing money,it probably brought in only stones and he became even poorer than he has ever been....
Hmmmmm this life!
This man used to fall down in Church worshipping God oh!!!!

UPDATE ON CEASED MENSES

So sorry this is coming very late.
Last year 25 Oct to be precise I sent you a mail concerning my ceased menstruation and the procedure my gynea recommended I undergo in order to enable me see it, you posted it for me on the blog and I saw some very encouraging comments. I promised I will get back to you after the procedure, sorry I was unable to do that, it was due to unforeseen circumstances. So here goes my story.
I was booked for 10th of Dec.for the procedure.
The Dr got ready to start the procedure and then they discovered that my cervix was closed and when they opened it, they were shocked.
What they saw could not be explained. For the past 14 months that I've not seen my period I was actually menstruating but because of the closed cervix everything was stored in me which resulted to the crucial pains I'm always in.
So when the cervix was opened this very black, smelly bad blood rushed out of me. After the doctors did their best to drain it out a catheter was inserted through my cervix to drain out the remaining blood and also to prevent the cervix from closing again, Stella, that was how I walked around for 11 good days with a catheter in me.
After the removal I was asked to run some test to see if anything was damaged and glory be to God everything was OK. So they asked me to go for HSG to know the state of my tubes( the pain ehn no be here) because I indicated I will like to try for a baby and after the testate I was told the both tubes were blocked.
I was sent to do lap and dye test to confirm the HSG result but I've not Been able to do that yet due to scarcity of money. And in all of this I'm still grateful to God for preserving me because according to the doctors it was a miracle and I've not giving up on having my baby.
*Excuse me asking oh....what blocked your cervix?is it a medical condition?is there a name for it?was it triggered by contraceptives?

MULTIPLE OFFERINGS IN CHURCH
Most of our churches today are seen as glorified business centers whose sole aim is to extort money from their members and since no one wants to be gullible to the point of being exploited, it creates wariness among discerning members when it becomes the norm for a pastor to always focus on teaching the principles of giving to release your prosperity, instead of salvation, kindness and love.
There was a time we travelled to the village to visit my in-laws and we had to attend Sunday service. Immediately the pastor mounted the pulpit, he began with Thanksgiving offering, normal Sunday offering, anointing offering, offering for favour. I planned for only one offering, so I was the only one seated while others trooped out to give bountifully to God. I felt slightly embarrassed.
Only a handful of churches still maintain a single offering for Sunday services and when they have special donations to make, they announce it a few weeks before the said date so as not to impose unplanned expenses on its members.
I've heard somebody say he stopped attending a church because of its numerous offerings.
I currently attend a church where they take up to three offerings in a single service. It has however not deterred me from worshipping there. I make plans right from the house on how much will be spent on offerings. If for any reason, they call for special offering and it's not in my budget, I just sit back quietly.
It's not in how much and how many times I give, it's more about how willing my heart is in giving.
I also stopped attending one Church here owned by a Nigerian when i visited once to check if i would become a member and was blown away by how many times offering was made...I had planned for one and by the third offering,i quietly noted that i would not return...no one noticed sef.
I have attended another Catholic church here and i gave money in an office and some days later,i was sent a receipt for my offering,i was like ''huh''.

DIARY OF AN ABUJA HUSTLING BABE (PART 5)
ReplyDeleteThe knock came again and I prayed it wasn't who I was thinking. I was lost in thought. 'Who sent me?', I asked myself repeatedly.
I thought about different situations in seconds. 'Is Ishi Egbe married?' 'Is he a ritualist?' 'Have I been set up?' 'How will my family, church and village people receive the news that I died when I went in on someone's husband?'. I wished I didn't make this trip. Why on Earth did I even meet Ikpu di oku?
In all these, Egbe was still fast asleep. A deep sleeper he really was or probably it was due to our 'exhaustion'. When the knock came the third time, I jumped up and headed for the kitchen. I can't die like a chicken. At least I should die fighting. I reached for the kitchen knife and immediately ran into the rest room waiting for any funny move. At that point, 'R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet' started playing in my head amid serious sweat.
The fourth time the knock came, Egbe responded making some inaudible sounds and made for the door. I wanted to stop him but it was too late. He opened the door and asked the night visitor,' Why you dey always like knock my door for night?'. I couldn't fathom if he was angry or not but I was shocked Egbe could speak pidgin English.
'Abeg no vex, I just return from club say make I cook 'Indomie' chop na im my gas finish leave me', replied the visitor.
'Just help me put am for fire make e done', she concluded.
I heaved a sigh of relief at the cordiality of their conversation. I was safe after all.
Next I heard was, 'Baby P, where are you?'
I immediately hid the knife behind the water cistern and came out to the sitting room like nothing happened.
'I'm here dear. I went to ease myself'
'Ok. Please come meet my naughty neighbour, Olanike. She can disturb for Africa', he said while heading to the kitchen with a pot I presumed Nike came with.
'Hello, good evening or should I say good morning', I tried pulling a joke.
'Any one will be fine', She replied stretching out her hand for a handshake. Her hand smelt of raw onions just as her mouth oozed of alcohol but I shook her all the same.
Few minutes later, Egbe was back with a plate of noodles. Olanike collected it, opened it and screamed,' Wow, you even add fried chicken for me. Guy you tight!', she said as she made for the door. She forgot to bid me goodnight. No qualms sha. I knew what hunger could do. Egbe followed to lock the door.

'Hello, busybody', I said when my friend picked.
'Ye-ye-ye-yes', She replied.
'Don't talk, just listen', I cut in.
Busybody, my friend, was a chronic stammerer. If you needed to talk to her on phone, you'll need triple the time you would have used for other people. I wasn't ready for such luxury that morning.
'Just go my house, tell my papa to carry my credentials file give you, then send to me for Abuja through waybill', I rushed.
'Wu-wu-wu-wu-wu-who go-go-go-go pay for-for-for-for the waybill?', she asked
'No worry, I go pay for here', I said with a note of finality but she wouldn't stop.
'Way-way-way-wetin you dey do for-for-for-for Abuja sef, you don ge-ge-ge-get work?', she queried.
'Na small remain. Once I settle down, you go join me, you hear?', I raised her hope wishing she would end the conversation.
'Ok, no wahala. I go send am through last bus'
Throughout the day, I was indoors seeing movies and treating myself to good food. Ishi Egbe called at intervals to find out how I was doing. I was also practising with my GMAT. I didn't want to take chances. This interview must be scaled through. In fact, a last fight it must be. I couldn't imagine myself going back to be jobless in my state.
Later in the day, I got a text from Busybody with the code of my parcel and the bus number plate. I was making progress, I said to myself.
A few minutes after that, another text message came in, the content threw me off balance.

This too many church offering of a thing is so annoying. It can make someone have a second thought about going to church. That's how i went to one catholic church in Ojuelegba last sunday and offering was collected more than 15times. They called people to give according to the states in Nigeria, then fans of international football clubs were called to give and then local football clubs. After these other offerings were collected. I felt bad and to think that's my first time in a catholic church. What a bad first impression. The whole offering thing made me forget about the brief message given by the father.

They will also ask for tithe, seed sowing, project offering, partners offering all in one service.
