The Notorious Paris Park Where Nigerian Women Sell Their Bodies...

Asawo no be work in Nigeria but in Paris,it is....

A new report by the CNN has revealed how some women trafficked from Nigeria are forced into prostitution in a park in Paris, capital city of France.

Over the years, stories of women deceived into giving up their money for a “better life” in Europe but later forced into prostitution, have made news headlines.

In the recent discovery, the Bois de Vincennes, a park on the outskirts of eastern Paris, is popular with joggers and boules players during the day but a business spot for Nigerian sex workers when darkness descends.

Nadège (not real name), one of the trafficked women, who managed to escape, told CNN how a female Nigerian pimp, “Madam” she met in Lagos promised her a job as a waitress in Europe.

“I was told it was like a paradise but getting here, it was like from frying pan to fire,” Negede said.

Nadège, 20, was trafficked from Nigeria to France and forced into sexual slavery at €20 ($23).

She and other girls would later have to pay off a huge debt of €50,000 ($57,690) and sometimes more, to Madam.

According to Nadège, before leaving Nigeria, the victims were made to take an oath at a “juju” temple never to speak about their deal with madam nor the debts they owe her.

She said they were made to lie in a coffin while taking the oath, with a threat of death (return to the coffin) if they broke the rules.

Nagede said she travelled from Nigeria to France with a fake passport her madam gave her. She was sent to work in the Bois a week after she arrived.

Her madam gave her a €100 daily target and took away her passport and all her earnings, except money for food and rent.

“Sometimes you work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the morning, maybe get home by 8 a.m.,” she said.

She would start work again, elsewhere, from 3 pm. “Until 6 p.m., then you have to go to your normal place of work.”

Nagede said she cut ties with her madam when she got pregnant a year later and decided to keep her baby.

She said after her escape, “I was waiting patiently for the death or the madness. I was like… ‘Should I go over to the street and start working? Should I abort my baby?'”

Nagede discouraged other young ladies against journeying to Europe in search of greener pastures, saying: “Don’t even think of it.”

“Even now I don’t have hope for myself. My past already destroyed my future,” She said.

“No matter what I am tomorrow, I am still going to be useless, because, I can’t proudly say my story.

    2. are you stupid? why wont they believe...do they tell them its prostitution? they know its not free but they tell them you will get a job and pay back the ticket. why wont i go and get a waitress job if i can earn better than be jobless in naija..only very few know its prostitution. those they take to dubai nko and turn them to prostitutes or sex slaves for arab men instead of house girls they left naija for nko? stop judging cos the reality of poverty is harsh for some people

    4. @yori yori please let us not neglect the fact that people have helped other people move abroad legitimately. Incase someone receives genuine help and turns it down, out of fear.

Personally, there was a lady who used to help my mum and her neighbour friend wash and do very intense clean up for 3k per day. A family friend was relocating to the US and needed a helpful nanny, for her naughty kids. We all put money together and helped the woman leave. She started earning $1000 a month in 2015 (which is less than what any babysitter would have taken for 4 annoying minors) and it has increased. Her husband and children are loyal till date. The first child is turning 14 soon and she may have to return. But you can bet that her family's life has changed forever.

Let me not talk of a salon girl who was taken to UK to braid hair about 10 years ago and is married to oyibo now. I see her on SM, looking fresher than me and wearing designers. Lol. She owns an african shop and salon now and has helped educate her some of siblings to masters level. You need to understand that: for african business people, its generally more affordable to assist an adult from home who hasnt earned foreign currency, help them grow and stabilize. And it is a sustainable way to help less priviledged families, who have a good skilled worker, that can contribute to assisting them. Some get there are for the first one year, they ask their boss to send 70% of their earning to nigeria to remove their families from hunger.

A while back, my friends mum needed a good fashion designer for african clothes. The first one very good one she got has married and moved to another state after almost two decades of good relationship that became partnership. But she was surprised at how increasingly difficuly it was to convince the tailors that she means well and wont cheat them in any way. They were all scared of seized passports and being asked to do odd jobs, drugs and prostitution.

This thing started as a good thing to help africans migrate for better living, but bad people have abused it and turned it to something else. With internet now, its easier to access information from databases and embassies to check a person's genuiness and stuff like that. If you are bent on doing the right thing, you will find a way to look before leaping. Why would one even be asked to swear an oath before leaving Nigeria, and go through with it??

  4. Ashawo nor be work but they nor go hear word.

I watched the video yesterday, I was surprised at how beautiful these young girls look. I used to think ashawo that stand on the roadside are ugly looking. But, these girls actually look like models with their long legs and beautiful black skin.

Prostitution is cheap and not worth it, especially in Europe.
Get a legal day job and live within your means and you will enjoy yourself.

And many more girls on queue to come to Europe for prostitution.
Many of these girls knew what they were getting themselves into, but greed will not let them think straight and do the right thing.

  8. Nadege is Nigerian??
SOME of them are not entirely oblivious to the fact that they are going into prostitution. Apart from the fact that prostitution is degrading in every word, the fact that someone else dictates the number of people you sleep with in a day, the time and place and even controls the money is worse.

Some are revolting cos they had rather be their own bosses than hand the monies over.

  9. So pitiable.
But sorry to say this, as long as some of us girls are willing to die to go "abroad",
the regular supply of Naija girls for akwunakwuna" will keep happening.
What will make a girl to enter a coffin to take an oath?
Everyday I read this blog, it's like even at gun-point, Nigerian girls are ready to risk it
    all to travel "abroad".

    1. just shut up abeg..is it only girls? as long as poverty exist people will see going abroad as a better way. not every one is lucky in naija, some people come from homes where they cant go to school or anything else. so if someone says will take u abroad and i will get you work then you pay me back that is an attraction..the agents never paint a picture of you paying back so much in a day or them holding your passport still you pay back..they swear oath when they have already gotten them visa/tickets and documents to travel so at that time they are already dreaming of life outside naija...only a few girls know about the prostitution

  12. I first of all blame the parents of these girls. Where were their mothers when a "So called" Madam came for them?

Also GREED and discontent. No wonder the Bible says; "Godliness with contentment is great gain".

However, THERE IS HOPE. Irrespective of how badly these ladies have been used, IN CHRIST JESUS, they can have a bright future if they genuinely repent.

Ask Rahab in the Bible (A harlot) but JESUS CHRIST was born from her linage.
As long as we are in this earth, all hope is not lost. THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY OUT PEOPLE. Call on JESUS CHRIST right in your house, on your bed, in your toilet, wherever you are. Pour out your heart to HIM. He HEARS ALWAYS.

    Cheers..
