It was gathered that the scheme placed the two-year ban on the schools following discovery of negligence and evidences of age manipulation.
However, in reaction, the Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, Professor Moses Kembe, during a meeting with the Scheme pleaded for leniency. Kembe had in the meeting which ended in a deadlock, maintained that the university management was not involved in age manipulation. He explained that the age limits were manipulated by students.
Findings on Monday showed that graduates of the affected Universities were denied access to the NYSC registration portal.

If one has passed the age limit of going for service why not take the exemption form and rest, do they need to falsify birth certs just for NYSC?

What kind of country is this?
ReplyDeleteWhy don't the relevant authorities investigate and find out those that manipulated ages and prosecute/jail them?
So thousands of youths for two years are rendered redundant and you do not want them to be political thugs and robbers? And the females of high moral integrity?
What a joke!
So where are the students that are lamenting in this post Na.
ReplyDeleteI'm affected o, I don't know what to do with my life. Nobody will employ me without service. I'm tired of Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteI understand you for i was at this crossroad once though it was self-determined.
DeleteEven most of my friends that served till date couldn't get employment and they resorted to being self employed. The ones that got eventually left their jobs to be their own bosses
I personally forfeited service created my own job right away and I thank God for that bold step for am extremely comfortable now. I have my own apartment, car and other businesses.
If you see me serve that's me just whiling away the time.
Use this period of yours well, and God help you that you end up being the one employing people Amen.
Very bad!! Shouldn't there be other means of punishing them?
ReplyDeleteYes, I am a graduate of Benue State university. Yes I did manipulate my age to go for service. However, I did not do that through the school. I paid a roadside cyber Cafe just 1500 naira to manipulate the nysc portal to do that for me. As a matter of fact, when I noticed jamb had made an error in my age sent to the university, I went to jamb office in makurdi and they directed me to go to this particular cafe to get it done! This falls clearly on the nysc and not the universities. You can't have such porous Web security and not expect it to be taken advantage of.
ReplyDeleteAbegi, the useless nysc certificate ma, I've never bothered to use it. I just went for service to flex and go away from my immediate environment after a heartbreak. I'm currently self employed, with multi businesses and making good money. Who nysc help? Rubbish.
Congratulations!!! U deserve an accolade.
