Good Morning people....
Thank God it's Friday indeed!
Those asking if i forgot the gist i promised to drop inside IHN yesterday,no i did not forget, the gist is the one about the man who used his wife to make money and had a stroke in Church when a pastor in the Church he walked in to worship confronted him about killing his wife..He died three days later singing ''na me kill am oooooh''.Read the gist in Thursday ihn here.
Yesterday i met someone who is married to the daughter of his Father's younger Brother.....If you see the way my mouth dropped eh,my reaction also shocked him and i quickly told him that it is a big taboo where i come from to even look at anyone that way in the whole family....he showed me a photo and him and his wife and their kids all look like identical quintuplets.....
I didn't know how to tell him that his union might have some genetic implication cos of the way he appeared smitten by his wife...He said one of the reasons they marry each other is that..''how can you leave someone so beautiful in your family and let an outsider come and take her?or that rich rich brother for another woman from an outside family to come and tap into the wealth and take it her family's way?we unite in Marriage so that families can be stronger and there is no reason to divorce because families cannot hurt each other the way outsiders who marry do''
.......His reasons were so good and valid but i still insisted it cannot happen in my Country.....He then said something which shocked me....
He said most of these people claiming its a taboo, they are still sleeping with family members and hiding about it,we are open with ours and make it respectable by marrying each other.....he says his son has been prepared to marry his younger sisters daughter..My mouth fell down and i lost the argument oh....
I couldn't continue cos he had to get back to work fixing my new Kitchen....
Was thinking about this the whole night and even though he made a whole lot of sense A taboo is still a taboo...or is it anywhere in the Bible where this marrying inside family is encouraged?
Pray tell!!!
Have a fantastic Friday.....
ReplyDeleteYesterday someone who is an eye witness made a comment that Abacha's loot is being shared in Kaduna at the rate of 10,000 to an individual. Even as I tried so hard not to talk about it, my spirit couldn't let me. I want to ask these questions, what will 10,000 do for one's improvement in life? Can it start a viable business? When the 10,000 eventually finish, what next is left for the recipient? Disbursing the loot in such a way, what economic and national input will it be to the nation? Don't you think the concept of teaching a man how to fish here than giving him fish would have been better? What happened to skills been organize and taught with such a huge amount of money? You see why majority of the northern populace will always be impoverish? they are being denied the basic educational skills to compete with the southern part and as such their orientation becomes so shallow and indoctrinated that you see them being used to cause troubles and bloodshed.
Unless the government have a sinister motive of what they are doing. If Abacha's loot is to be shared, won't it be a national exercise? Are they indirectly starting a campaign move with the country recovered loots? You see the reasons I always criticize this government, for they lack economic sight and development. They didn't come to grow the economy but to amass wealth. GOOD MORNING NIGERIA.
Ezege morning sir! This country I don't think will ever witness civilization or become a country where corruption and discrimination will be alleviated. The best way is to leave this country or join politics and chop your share of the national cake when it is your turn. Things has gone beyond nmekwatarism!!!
DeleteInstead of then to even use the money to pay off national debt, at least the future generation would be grateful small. Nonsense

ReplyDeleteOnly God will be God in my life.
I have seen in my few years here that only God is God. Only God can make a promise and surely fulfill it. Only God can create and bring to an end, only He can give and take. So when mortals raise their hearts because of some power they think they've got- I tell them only God.
And Dapo Abiodun beat Akinlade in the APC Ogun Primaries. Congratulations, all I want is good governance be it any zone.
Hey darl .... How body? ?
DeleteSdk in the north people marry their cousins so the money will still be in the family especially the rich ones.
DeleteGood morning Orente! God directed me to speak to you this morning. These are His exact Words to you..
Delete"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there any thing too hard for me? Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
My grace has been increased upon you. I have empowered you and that which you were not able to accomplish, you will be able to accomplish it this year.
I have strengthened you, behold the barriers have been removed and I have taken care of your concerns because I knew you before you were born. I chose you before you were born, you did not choose me but I chose you. I have made the direction for you. I have enabled you, do not wonder what the direction will be, for I am leading you and I am leading you from glory to glory.
No! You will not walk the path of confusion but the path of light and that light shines brightly and there shall be no darkness to overcome it. I have raised you up for a time like this says the Lord".
Good morning Olori Orente. How are you and all yours? Please, do you got admission into Unilorin through IJMB, or you know someone who did through IJMB and has been able to scale to ECA? Well marrying a relative is a taboo. I know a man from my village who did it (dad told me the story). He married a distant cousin, had 5 kids. They were all barnished from the village.
Yinmu, suddenly you resume commenting ππππ
DeleteAnything concerning Giveaway Lady bug ears are attentive.... you be police?
DeleteWell Taboo is a man's idea..what is taboo to a man might be accepted by God, what is taboo to a set of people might also be accepted by a different set of people. But it is good to respect the law and ordinances in the Bible and also respect to some extent the law of any land where one is dwelling.
DeleteI don't know if Bible specifically condemned marriage or union among relatives but I know some cultures allows it and some condemns it also...
So if it's accepted by a certain people..then I don't think it is a taboo.
Is it your commenting?
DeleteStella,it happens in your country a lot. That type of marriage is very common in the North.

I honestly don't know what's wrong with me. I think I really like him. He ticks all my boxes of what I want in a man . He is just there. He is simple and cool. What I like most about him is his creativeness. I love people who are creative, who thinks, who are solution providers with good business acumen. He is my friend. He has a gf and he thinks I am in a relationship as well. I really wish things were different. But even if it is, don't think I will want to go for his tribe. He makes me lively . He uses the same words I use. I can talk and chat with him from now till next tomorrow. But I have a feeling he might be friends cos of cookie. If I wasn't a V, I might have thrown caution to the wind. His face looks hard as well. Don't know what to think. I keep on staring at his whatsapp every time. I need to get him off my head. I need him to leave asap so I can have my sanity back. I can't continue this way.

DeleteJustice? You high and mighty politicians don't know the meaning of the word! Fairness? Which one of you has any left? Not one! All your dealings are crooked: you give "justice" in exchange for bribes. These men are born sinners, lying from the earliest words! They are not poisonous as deadly snakes, cobras that close their ears to the !most expert of charmers.
ReplyDeleteO God break of their fangs. Tear out the testy of these young lions,Lord. Let them disappear like water into thirsty ground. Make their weapons useless in their hands. Let them be as snails that dissolve into slime; and as does who did at birth, who never see the sun.
The godly will rejoice in the triumph of right;they shall walk the blood stained fields of slaughtered wicked men.
Then at last everyone will know that good is rewarded, and that there is a God who judges justly here on earth.(psalms 58vs 1-11)
Good morning to us all. May we be fulfilled today in Jesus Name, Amen.
ReplyDeleteI went to Nyanya market on Wednesday morning to buy what it was most popular for. Okrika. I bent down very well, selected 2blouses, a gown and two trousers. I also bought a beautiful sandal for my daughter and went home afterwards. When I got home, I immediately soaked the clothes, checked on my cutie who was at daycare and headed to the institute where I ran my computer program. 1pm was break time so I rushed home to wash the clothes I'd soaked in the morning. After washing, I spread them on the rope outside which everyone uses. I ate my lunch, and went back to the institute.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got back in the evening, my clothes were gone!
At first I thought my neighbor had helped me pack them. I knocked on her door and asked her, she said she didn't pack any, infact she didn't see any cloth on the line when she came back from work. She asked her kids, they too did not see my clothes when they certainly back from school around 3pm.
Nnaa lekwam, lekwa motorcycle. Had the rapture of clothes occurred?
I went back to my room, dejected. I carefully selected those clothes, I even fought for one. Which kain wahala be this? Who did I offend?
I was thinking about my fashion life when my neighbor knocked on my door. She said "Aunty don't worry, we go find the clothes. I know who tiff am".
I just nodded and locked my door in peace.
The next morning I went to Lafia. I was moody throughout the journey because I couldn't stop thinking about my lost dresses. The journey kuma was partly unsuccessful.
When I came back in the evening, my neighbor's children happily ran out and said "Aunty we've found your clothes, Aunty Maggie stole them".
Their mother came out with my clothes. The children went to call the thief. Maggie is an eighteen year old ss2 student living with an old couple at the next building. She usually comes to live with them when school resumes and goes back to her village during holidays.
According to my neighbor, this girl has stolen almost 100 clothes in the neighbourhood. She stole the male, female, children clothing, stash them with her boyfriend and sell or wear them when she got back to her village. They had beaten her on two occasions but she continued even after vowing not to steal again. She stopped for a while until I complained my dresses were missing, they just knew Maggie had struck again. My clothes were still in her box when they questioned and searched her. She was to take them to her boyfriend the next day.
Well, she came to me with tears in her eyes. She blamed the devil for her actions and begged for forgiveness. To be frank, I wasn't angry. I only felt pity for her.
-Castle Windsor.
100 clothes in the neighborhood, this one pass thief. She is less busy and needs to find handiwork.

To each his own. My parents are related. Its common in Islam and some northern cultures. Though education and exposure has reduced it these days but it was no biggie in the past. It was usually arranged and agreed by the families to betroth their kids.

Good morning lovelies...
ReplyDeleteStella, marrying ones cousin is very common in the north here and some Muslim sunnah I.e the S.U( sorry for using that word) have argued that its permissible in Islam as long as you do not suck from the same breast. Wallahu Alam( God knows what we don't know).
Bv Be humble sit down, thanks for your explanation on the cervix it was very educative. I have a quick question pls.
What is the cause(s) of cervix not opening while in labour?there was water discharge after each contractions but the cervix was closed, I hope you get to see this. Thanks.
I love tall, dark, slim guys with Neat dressing ability (Not those that look hungry). Yeah, I love young and old ones but not too old. I can easily bang them but I won't do it for free. It's either for orgasm or money. It's not about sex or relationship... If you don't have these qualities, your Sweet boys or men talks na for your village people.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful morning. Na WA on what I just read on taboo as everyone is saying mostly in North.
ReplyDeleteStella do a report on it, we might have different opinions and I will want to know if it is a sin in God's sight since it is permissible by Muslims.
I know it is a taboo but culture differs. We might be offending certain people.
It is a beautiful day as I have made mine beautiful

DeleteMy second cousin is married to her first cousin (father's sister's son). Anytime there is an issue between the couple, their parents will start singing you are one family tune. The man is evidently mistreating the woman and she is frustrated and depressed but since their parents aren't bothered because they are one family, we have learned to shut our mouths as well. And their child has some genetic issues. She was advised against the union and she is still not in talking terms with those who did.

The Fulanis does not recognise incest, they marry their cousins
ReplyDeleteGood morning all.
ReplyDeleteSo my cousin, Susan (not direct) whom I'm closer to than any member in my family betrayed me and I'm finding it difficult to let go of the hurt. She has been extorting money from another cousin of us in the US, Linda( who is a first cousin to me but third to her) which almost everyone knows but we all pretend we don't know. Even Linda is aware but plays along because Susan is struggling in her marriage, her business is not booming, she uses the little she is given to boost her business to cook for her husband. The same husband do not provide for her and her baby but takes care of his other children from a previous marriage. Linda is a generous person and send almost everyone of us including those of us working money once in awhile. Linda's only issue with Susan is the guise she use in taking money from her. She called Linda last week and told her she needed some money to buy some stuffs for Linda's mother, which nobody was aware of and somehow Linda sent the money through me and Susan was angry I found out what she did. 2 days later, she called Linda again and said the house needs some kitchenwares and even told her to send the money to her directly and not me as I have been behaving someway ever since I came back and I had issues with a lot of people and they nearly lynched me but thanks to her they didn't, (This one is actually funnyπ)so she shouldn't send the money through) me. The reason I'm hurt is as she was lying against me, she had asked me to buy her cosmetics for her with my money ooh, I have never tried to bathmouth her to Linda so I didn't understand why she had to do that. She is far older than me like 15 years so I'm yet to understand what she seeks to achieve by slandering me her younger sister that way. She has in the past said alot of bad things about me to people which these people in turn tell me when they realized I'm the opposite of what she said. I want an advice on how to distance myself from her as I am somebody that can call you 2 minutes after you stab me. I have told her alot of things about me,
ReplyDeleteSuch as my achievements, guys I'm dating and she sometimes ask these guys money behind my back but I forgave all. I don't want to stop talking to her but just distance myself but I'm finding that difficult to do. Advice needed please. Thanks
you have to distance yourself oh..she has shown you who she is so believe her before she will do something worse.call her like once a month, ask how she is doing and thats all. dont tell her anything about your life AGAIN

He even went as far as visiting my parents to say hello without informing me. bought them gifts and still calls mumsy once in a while. They know he's married with kids o but Mum didn't read any meanings to his visit. Now he's relocated out of the country with his family and we're still very much in touch. how do i get him off my mind?
