TEEJAYS CORNER
HOLDING UNTO HOPE.
...

Most of the success we enjoy today were as a result of prayers said on our various head many years ago by our parents.

Oh Yes! I remember how my parents prayed for us while growing up, for God's protection and blessings upon our life, as to succeed in all we do. Most times they forget to pray for themselves but us.

In this piece it will interest you to know a little of a young man whose life transformation was a miracle.

Monica seems to have literally wrestled with God for the soul of her son. "Nothing is far from God" was her belief and statement of faith.

Amidst other vices, Augustine had ventilated certain heretical proposition that made Monica his mother drove him away from home, but a strange vision which she had, urged her to recall him. It was at this time that she went to see a certain holy bishop, whose name is not given, but who consoled her with the now famous words, "the child of those tears shall never perish."

Monica, followed her son to Rome, where he had gone secretly; when she arrived, he had already gone to Milan, but she followed him too. There she found Ambrose and through him she ultimately had the joy of seeing her son Augustine convert to Christianity after 17 years of resistance.

It may be said with truth that this conversion was the fruit of the prayers and tears of Monica. The consolation she received from her son's conversion, may be more easily imagined than described.

On their way coming back to Africa their home town, precisely Algeria. Monica strength began to failed her, she said the following words: "My son, as far as I am concerned, I expect nothing further from this world. I had only one wish, which was to see you a Catholic before I died. God has granted me more than I asked; because I see that you not only serve Him, but that you despise all earthly happiness. What, therefore, remains for me to do upon earth?" Monica couldn't make it to Africa but died on transit but her greatest joy was seeing her son transformed.

Have you given up so soon on your children because of their waywardness? Have you written them off because of what you are seeing now? Remember, a mother held on for 17years in prayers and hope, until the desired change manifested. It is not the best to give up on anyone no matter how bad they have become, there is always hope that they can change their ways.

TEEJAY.

My SISTER : My woman crush FOREVER.

Stella please permit me to write a short piece on my WCF....
‎‎My WCF is my super strong sister, she had her first baby at the age of 16 when she was in ss2, she was ridiculed and all, but trust my 'never say die' sister. She came back stronger, finished her secondary school education, after which she tried  her hands in one or two struggles, got married to a promising gentleman (one of the best human being I have ever come across) together they gave birth to three lovely girls .

For my sister life was sweet and everything went smoothly until she lost this darling man to the cold hands of death she was just 33yrs, without a degree, a trade or any business of note, life can not be more terrible.
Bolanle knowing she had to be at her best to give her kids what she never had, started petty trades with some of the money at her disposal from her husband's account  she was duped and lost almost all her capital which weren't much anyway .

Sister had to start all over borrowing and begging here and there without notable help. Promises and assurances that were made to her on the demise of her Husband ‎faded away into the morning midst , my sister can not afford to be downcast  for a moment, She's got mouths to feed, she buckled up and managed to fix herself in another trade.

By the super Grace of God she's living and Her kids are schooling  Her Son is completing his OND from mapoly this year and the first daughter  just got admitted to the secondary school.

Things are still tough and rough but my sister is the never say die type. She's an example of a true mother, an African mother.

Happy belated birthday to my beloved sister and mother 'Bolanle Ibrahim Enigma' thanks for being part of my life, may God blessing continue to shine upon you , Almighty Allah will lift you from zero to Hero...*Amin*‎
Lots of love from your one and only brother Olasukanmi (SEALORD) .

*Thank God for her

RELOCATING TO CANADA

Quick one guys

My husband and I are newly married (no children yet) so we intend to relocate to canada. We don't have much, i told him to process everything, then i will borrow from my sister to pay our flights.

His elder brother and the wife are willing to accommodate us, (they are established there already ). Tho i met the wife just once and we clicked.

To my questions

1) has anyone been in my shoes before? Staying with inlaws in diaspora? Did it turn out well?

2) i intend to do anything and everything LEGAL to make money in Canada. How soon can i get a job, even if it is a menial job so that i can pay my sister back?

3) pls anybody that has been there and done that should pls come to my rescue. How long did it take you to stand on your feet?

4) if i was your sister, what would you advice  i do?

*Squatting for too long always goes south!

  5. As I was late to Saturday's in house gist, lemme drop mine here.

Some years back, used to read and comment on information Nigeria.

Later, I came across NFC, was so glued to that platform then later nairaland.

Oh! How I loved that forum cos of the pictures they use in illustrating their comments.

Then came the gist of how Timaya went bag shopping for his "bae" and Barbara took to ig to say "she can't love another ".

Then the "blogger" said she heard the shopping wasn't for her (Barbara) but for one Freda so she deleted the post.

In the comment section, people were praising "Stella ", that they raise their left nyash for her, and all sorts.

Actually, I didn't know then that every blog belonged to someone, will just surf, whatever caught my attention I go with it.

Around August 2016, I was surfing the net again but couldn't find where I saw that sweet comment section.

Then I remembered the name "Stella " and typed "Stella's blog.

Viola! I found it and ever since then I've been glued here.

I think the first gist/stories I met here were one Chronicle like that that one man sent.

It was about him impregnating his girlfriend who refused dating him back then cos he was broke, got married to her even when she knew there wasn't any form of love.

He later found love in a girl and started dating and things became hard for him and that he'd gone to 20 something spiritual houses and they all said it's his wife and MIL that's behind his predicaments.

I love this blog like kilode.

Great work you are doing ma'am.

  20. I'm sharing this so that we can be very watchful and extremely careful. Even heard someone shared gist with this same format here but I don't know how I missed it. Maybe if I had been paying attention, I wouldn't have fallen victim.

We've been hearing about these things and I always think it's just stories as I have never met anyone it's happened to. I no longer think they are stories cos it didn't just happen to someone I know, it happened to ME !!!

This guy walked up to me, gave me an exchange rate that was above the normal exchange rate (didn't know this then). Seeing that the guy's rate was higher than that of the previous guy that came to me, I decided to go with him. After concluding, he gave me a bundle of cash and after counting, I realised it was 1k short. He didn't ask me to recount (dunno why I didn't take this into consideration), he just took it back from me and started counting while I started counting along. I didn't take my eyes off him as I was actually aware of cash shortage after counting. At the end, he agreed it was 1k short. So he brought out 1k ( 2 N500 notes) and added.

Mistake that I made was that I didn't recount but deep in my spirit, I wasn't really comfortable. While I was standing waiting for my sis to come pick me up, I kept checking my bag to make sure the money was still there. And always feel relieved to feel the bundle.

Bvs, I got home and decided to recount the money and lo and behold I was 10k short. Like exactly 10k short. Counted like 4 times before I realised what had happened.

Then I realised the giving cash with 1k short is probably their format.

I'm trying to get over it sha. But e pain me gan
