Lecturer Slumps And Dies In Kogi State Over Non Payment Of Salaries

On Monday a lecturer with the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Mr. Yakubu Nataala, reportedly slumped and died at his Kogi Poly quarters’ residence in Lokoja.

According to dailypost the deceased might have died due to the none payment of his salary.

He was said to have last received his salary in July 2017.

However, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Luke Tijan said that the lecturer, who was earlier operated upon as a result of ruptured appendicitis, died as a result of complications arising from the operation.

Tijani however confirmed that the deceased was among lecturers who have not received salaries for several months.

“Yesterday, we lost one of our lecturer in the Polytechnic. Contrary to information that went viral, he never slumped and died but was earlier operated upon of appendicitis.

“He was among some of the lecturers that has not been paid salaries due to the screening exercise,” the PRO noted.

*How will he seek proper medical care when his salaries have not been paid?God save your people!!!

  2. Money generated from institution what do they use it for? In Nigeria teachers and lecturers are treated badly but militants and boko haram are compensated and rewarded handsomely. Over a year plus a man haven't been paid his salary but you can imagine the billions been spent for political thuggery. What then are we celebrating for? 58 years of what exactly?

  7. I don’t think 🤔 our people will ever get it or have they all been bewitched? How many local governments and senatorial districts are in Nigeria? Why won’t you all converge in front of say “Dino”’s house and pressure him to sell one of the Ferraris bought with your money. If you practice protest the way it’s d here no one will be killed and you will achieve something at best. There are 774 local governments and 109 senatorial districts plus about 360 congressional districts overlapping them in a country of almost 300million people. If 500,000 each visit a local government chair’s house simultaneously as 200,000 each visit the senator and congress man’s house and insist they sell their obviously stolen assets their orderly or orderlies will join you and they won’t touch anyone in this era of social media and everyone having cameras on phones. We are timid, that’s why we were captured as slaves centuries ago. I’m personally upset that a human being can go for 2 months talkless of a year without pay. Who are the monsters governing Nigeria? Who are their friends and children? Can’t you tell them they and their descendants will reap what they are sowing? Try not paying an American for 2 pay periods. Your risk of being shot in your office just went up by 500%! They copy the dresses, suits, shoes and superficial things in developed countries but not the deep things and nothing related to human rights.

How do they expect someone to pay their bills and eat? Protesting is not that difficult or fatal. 150000 people converging in the governor’s lodge simultaneously as 150,000 at the senator’s houses and about 30,000 at the Rep’s house and they will all sell their I’ll gott rolexes and Lamborghinis on eBay and start paying. I promise you no shot will be fired. But some will say I’m in America yes, we still participate in protests here otherwise trump and his Russian mentors would have overrun normal American life as we know it. I also participated in June 12 protests which truncated Abacha’s dreams though Abiola died, but our generation wasn’t docile. This was an unnecessary death.

For those who 😮 and aah over these people’s acquisitions and posts on Instagram, you are part of the problem knowing they stole the $10k the sugar girl’s Chanel purse was bought with. I’m an employer here and I pay my employees and pay tons in social Sec, Medicare tax, county and state tax and we pay every 2 weeks. It’s your obligation even if you have to go without as the owner or borrow. A laborer is worthy of his wages! Time for the youth to converge in such a huge no simultaneously in their houses and make demands. Trust me, what 🇳🇬 live is not life, it’s not worth living, most may eventually die in silence like this guy. I personally will rather die protesting so my future generations can have it better. Look at the protests trailing a Supreme Court nominee! 🇳🇬 who hath bewitched you like the Galatians! Don’t abuse me. If you don’t get it read and shut up

    1. Magnificent but you think all you said is obtainable here. Haven't you been reading or watching how protesters are killed on daily basis? Most times teargassed and assaulted. Nobody wants to die and the people ruling us are insane that to the extent of killing opposition.
